MrImole:
I don't mean to pry, but tell me how the solar thing work, do you have light only at "days" or it works at nights too? Does it store power, how guaranteed is it and what about electricity, don't you use one?

The one we have....its main aim is to supply enuf voltage for the batteries to be charged. The solar will charge the battery during the day. Electricity will also charge the batteries if its available. Generator can also do such. The batteries can be used anytime as long as it has enuf voltage. Solar can never charge at night. Our major aim is to get the batteries that power the house fully charged. There's another method for direct solar but that's too tedious for us but maybe when we have our own apartment we can do that

Thamks, bro. Please no vex me. I'm asking too much.
Can sunlight charge the batteries all through, if there's continuous sunlight? Or do u need generator? Going with your previous post, you said it should last for over 5 years? After this period, what are the replaceable parts? The cell or the inverter? What's the need for multiple panels?

The more the panel the more voltage you get to charge your batteries. Yes Sunlight can fully charge your batteries if there are enuf panels and no much usage of the batteries. Our goal is to have enuf to last us all thru the night. Generator is just the backup plan if there's no Power supply for days. Once there's light the batteries are charging (faster than generators). Pls note that the batteries are large ones- we use Monbat 12v batteries

Please how much does it cost?

Budget between 100-200k. The one we have at home is 2 batteries, 2 solar panel on the roof, an inverter and some other little expenses. Ours cost 120k and it works with everything except Pressing Iron and Water Heater. Our gen is for charging the batteries when its low i.e less sunshine and no power supply for a long period (3 days). The solution is to get more solar panel and we working on it. Its what am currently using at home. No light since morning. Just came back from work and based on my projection. It will take us all thru the night till daybreak but I'd on the Gen from 9-11 to add more life to the batteries. Its always fun having light every time esp when the hood is dark

Budget for Solar system is on the high side but in the long run its far far cheaper. You don't have to stress yourself. I have a professional for you. He's Eng Tunde on 08059715479- the best I've seen that can do it for you. Doubt he'd be chanced. His 3 houses are fully on Solar. Our residence is also on Solar. Its very stress free and noiseless. Solar is the present and the future. Just close your eyes and do it once and for all. Life span is 5 years at least. Thanks. Hope am not banned. And I'm not Eng. Tunde
