A British court has seized the sum £211,000,000 belonging late General Sani Abacha.

According to Metro U.K, the late military dictator laundered the money through the US into the Channel Islands and now that money has been recovered.

The money was put in accounts held in Jersey by Doraville Properties Corporation, a British Virgin Islands company.

The money is now being held by the government until authorities in Jersey, the US and Nigeria come to an agreement on how it should be distributed.

A FCT High Court on Monday admitted Philomina Chieshe, charged with alleged “missing” N35 million belonging to the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to bail in the sum of N20 million.

Chieshe, a clerical officer with JAMB, was arraigned last Friday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alongside Samuel Sale Umoru, a state coordinator with JAMB. Ruling in the bail application, the judge, Peter Affen declared that bail was not about setting people free but to ensure that a defendant attend trial.

He added that the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), 2015 holds that bail be granted in the most liberal terms. Affen also ordered the defendant to produce two sureties in like sum. He ordered that the sureties must have landed property in Abuja worth the value of the bail sum.

Affen further ordered the defendant’s counsel, Mark Feese, to put in writing the good characters of the sureties. He further held that the court registrar, would then verify the addresses of the sureties, while the defendant must drop her international passport with the court. Affen also ordered that pending when the defendant meets the bail conditions, she would be remanded at Suleja Prison.

The woman who has accused Brazilian football star Neymar of rape has reportedly been dropped by the law firm representing her as doubts escalate over the veracity of her allegations.

The latest twist in the case emerged last night after the woman threatened to release a video of the alleged attack to the media to 'ruin' the Paris Saint-Germain striker's career.

She is also said to have revealed in a heated exchange that she 'should have killed the player when she had the chance'. Rio de Janeiro based lawyers Fernandes and Abreu reported that the woman first alleged she had been physically assaulted by the player - but had not mentioned she was raped until lodging the complaint on May 31.

A report by a private doctor reveals that the 26-year-old woman had 'bruises and scrapes on the buttocks and displayed an anxious and depressive disorder along with unspecified superficial traumatisms.'

A former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa Some suspected bandits have attacked the residence of the former Governor of Sokoto state, Attahiru Bafarawa and killed his security guard, Abdullahi Jijji.

The attack came barely 24 hours after the ex-Governor launched a foundation in Abuja named after him which he said would help in proffering solutions to the incessant banditry and kidnapping, particularly in the northern part of Nigeria.

The attackers also abducted his 16 year-old nephew, Abdulrasheed Sa’idu who was at the house at the time. Confirming the attack, the Director General, Bafarawa Foundation, Dr. Sulaiman Shu’aibu Shinkafi said the attack occurred around 9pm on Friday.

Shinkafi added that the bandits, numbering about 60 and armed with AK47 riffles came on motorcycles and bought N5, 000 fuel in the town before attacking the house.

Widowed Kogi judicial staff, Fatima Noah reportedly slumped after 'running around to borrow N20K without success' for her son.

Sadly, Igalaland lost one of her industrious and promising daughters, Mrs Fatima Noah. She is popularly known as mama Danladi among those that lives in Lokoja.

Mama Danladi, a widow with children in the tertiary institutions was one of the many victims of the Bello government who have not taken salaries for a year.

She met her death when she was said to have scouted for just #20,000 three days ago to address a pressing need of one of her sons in the school without success. Consequently annoyed, confused and frustrated, she collapsed and died a day later (yesterday around 8pm). She has been buried this morning at her Idah home according Islamic rite.

Before the paid agents of the government will come online to forge lies against her in defense of the anti people's government in order to belie this sympathetic situation, let me be specific to mention that she was until her death a staff of the Kogi State High Court of Justice Lokoja. She was one of those in the state judiciary who are not paid for a whole year which was the cause of her pains, depression, frustration, collapse and death.

May her soul rest in peace as we pray that God should guide and protect the many others that are still living under this sad condition and may God bring this government imposed pain, penury and destitution on our people to a quick end.

This post is neither a mockery nor a bigotry one, but a content to really open our eyes on what the educational system in this country has turned into.

Apparently the government are doing nothing when it comes to the educational standard in the north and the country at large.

Below is a video that got tongues wagging, with the way some JSS3 Students of a school in Kano recited the 36 States and capital in Nigeria with so much nonchalance.

Even some of the northern states which they're supposed to be acclimatized with, were recited like is non of their business at such level of education.

A Russian doctor is facing up to 20 years in jail after he confessed to murdering and dismembering a woman he dated after he discovered she had undergone sex change surgery.The medic Mikhail Tikhonov, 27, told the  Police that he cooked some of her body parts in her oven and flushed her remains down the toilet.

According to Daily Mail, Mr. Tikhonov, and Nina Surgutskaya, 25, were said to have gone out on a date night in Kursk, before they both returned to her flat.When the pair were having sex, he realised that she was 'transsexual' and had undergone surgery.He immediately strangled her on her bed and then to hide the murder, dismembered her corpse, he told police interrogators. .

Tikhonov was later arrested and questioned after Nina went missing and her mother called in police to investigate.The police report into the incident said: 'Nina invited him to her flat. They continued to drink alcohol and began to have sex. He noticed his partner had been previously a man.
He killed her and then put the head and limbs into a suitcase and took them to his flat, according to the crime report. .

He later sawed off limbs and ribs and threw them into rubbish bins.
After he was detained, police found the macabre sight of the head still attached to the spine, which he had covered in salt 'to get rid of the smell'.
'He had no time to get rid of these body parts as he was caught,' according to one report.
Tikhonov, who was trained as a doctor, faces up to 20 years in jail if convicted of murder and mutilating the corpse.
