SmartPolician:I don't call that love.... I call that desperation. The lady was probably in her prime and trying to settle down and you took advantage of the situation ![]() |
I'm surprised to see that Oyo isn't on the list. A friend of mine in IB told me Covid is still rampant in Ibadan, tgey have to wear nose mask all the time... Well maybe because he's a medical student sha, thats why he dey see things normal person' eyes no see. |
Thats it! Nothing can hold you down if you dare to dream BIG..... Even with an hearing impairment I'm still making deans list and never carried any course.... But the thing you see is, people with disabilities need people, and I mean people with positive vibes... When I got to FUTA I met this girl who writes every and any thing the teacher says. Even if lecture says OK she'll pen it down . I didn't even think twice I bonded with her. This girl plus the youtube video I watch helped me up to 300 level. Imagine I tried going through school all alone ... I'm very happy for her and I congratulate her on her achievement but I congratulate her more on the fact that she has people in her life who are willing to encourage her, people who not only believe in her dreams but would also do anything to help her achieve them... Once again congrats madam, keep soaring higher. |
Falconx47:True, Allowing people to copy you can affect you emotinally cos at the end of the day you'll feel used... Worse is getting a lower score tgan the person you allowed to copy your work. Its better not to start what one cant finish.... And by the way @ OP its in Africa you'll hear of students copying others because we are so lazy. No wonder our universities are spewing garbage every year... |

First thing first, understand yourself! How you read is very important but what you do while reading is even more important. Let me use myself as an example, I can read in the noisiest and distracting place ever and still assimilate well, but the moment I put something in my mouth, forget it! My brain is now processing the food. Whatever I read during that period is lost like I never see the write up before, I have to go back and look for where I mentally stopped. Likewise there are some things that might be distracting you, it might be noise, it might even be the worry and pressure you give yourself. Make sure you clear your mind and understand yourself. Secondly do you love what you are studying? If no, then I guess that's where most of your problem comes from. I won't preach to you to develop love for your course cos I've heard similar sermons and they are so annoying. I had wrong subject combo in JAMB so didn't get the course of my choice, I then began to make plans to cross. Gbam! Thats when the problem started, my GPA made a free fall from 4.95 to 4.53. Why? While brain was trying to solve Spearman's Ranked Correlation in Economics, my mind was busy concocting different sort of codes. I wasn't mentally detached from the course I wanted to study, And the prospect of crossing raised my hopes so high that I wasn't paying attention to my immediate studies but began to see myself studying the course I wanted. Thirdly your brain is assimilating, believe me it is!! Have you failed a course before? Then it might be your brain playing tricks on you that no matter how you read this course e no go enter. I once read a course back to back only to get one yeye score in the test.. One would think I would buckle up for the exam but nooo!!!, I told myself, "if I read, its still one yeye score I'll get, so whats the use". The thing is our mindset is a very powerful thing it can either make or mar us, so use it positively, see yourself acing your courses it will give you enthusiasm to read more.. It works!! Don't wait till exam is near before you read that's your biggest mistake, the thing is that as you read after every class your brain is subconsciously assimilating it but you don't know. Read over and over as much as you can! Finally make use of reading aids, like YouTube, you could read aloud and record your voice on your phone with a background beat or instrumental. Then listen to this anytime you don't feel like reading.... Set question for yourself using recorded audio like "Allotrope of carbon are how many in number?" then pause like five seconds and say the answer into what you are recording. The purpose of that pause is for you to answer the question, before you actually hear the answer when next you are listening to the audio. (This is the best reading method I'm know) Lastly write write write!!!! Buying handouts and past questions will do you little good if they don't pass through your own handwriting. Nothing stops me from writing out a PDF or slide of over 200pages ( except I'm not interested in the course) I'm not insinuating you do this but don't just underline handouts and think you've killed it. Take notes, write down something. Every time you read write!!! And don't forget above all pray! Last last success is ours.. |
coronavirus19:Okay, thanks ![]() |
mancharlie:Jamb score is good, just the WAEC cos of my secondary school's nonchalant attitude towards our education. |
coronavirus19:I've registered for both but didn't get a confirmatory email. |
With a CGPA of 4.81 I still haven't secured any scholarship and I'll be in my third year in the next two months! Please does any one knows if schorlarships uses WAEC results too? Though my result isn't bad because I failed none, yet its kinda too average. |
