SSGN: Vladimir Putiun once famously said... America has the most powerful military in the world...Im not disputing that...
One thing we have to consider when comparing Russia and America based on the aesthetics. No American President will get away with what Putin says on TV. Imagine Trump in a State of the Union Speech giving a presentation of Americas new nuclear cruise missile hitting Moscow. Imagine America parading its Minuteman missiles during a Victory Day Parade. Putin is a former KGB agent, he is skilled at deception. S-300, SU-35, Hypersonic missile...and on and on....there is no way a country with a defence budget of $64 billion will out produce a country that spends $600 billion a year, has the worlds best universities and research centres and an open immigration culture that attracts the best minds around the world, add to that private corporations likle Lockheed and Raytheon..even BAE Systems. Every time Russian and American systems clash.... who comes out on top? When a Turkish F-16 shot down two Russian fighter jets what did Putin do? he does a photo-op, he deploys the S-400 systems to Syria...the worlds best and vows to shoot down American aircaft or missiles that attack Syrian forces.
Well...not long after an American Navy F-18 shoots down a Russian SU-25. Yes the F-18 is more advanced relative to the SI-25, but this argument is defeated taking into account its the U.S Navy shooting own Russiann Air Force jets.
Lets talk bout the cruise missile attacks. Russia mocks the Tomahawk as a vintage piece of equipment. Its subsonic and no match for Russias Air Defense. Then Putin shows the world his incredible Command Centre in Moscow. Chinese President was on a state visit to the United States when Trump whispers into the ears of Xinping...informing him of an ongoing cruise missile attack against Russian backed Assad.
The Russians were quick to tout the strike as a failure because the Syrian air base was not entirely destroyed.
Again Assad stubbornly resort to chemical weapons. Predicting a potential U.S strike Putin again puts on a show, he sends a Russian Navy missile cruiser to the Mediterranean and vows to shoot down any American warship that launches a missile attack against targets in Syria. There are a myriad of options the U.S can choose from when launching an attack. Hence while the Russians are busy fooling themselves two U;S Submarines launch cruise missile attacks.... whats more, the missile took a path around the Mediterranean at skimming altitude, completely bypassing Russia's S-300 systems, entered Turkish airspace, popped up in Syria and obliterate its targets via the backdoor. Remember these are subsonic decdes old cruise missiles. What can Russia do?
How about twoo hundred Russian mercenaries that were stupid enough to attempt an attack on American positions? They fell victim to Putins bravado and the impression that America was weak, and paid dearly for that mistake.
Morale of the story? Russia is investing heavily on its nuclear arsenal because that is the only deterrent it has against the United States. The SU-35 is a wonderful fighter but how many does Russia have? 150? How about the PAK-FA? The F-22 has been in service for 20 years.. today Russia is still fielding prototypes. How many does Russia have? 12? India pulled out of the PAK-FA program because Russia has a long way to go. The PAK-FA features a 4th generation engine as an interim. All in all how many fighters can the Russian Air Force fields? hundreds. The U.S Navy has more combat aircraft than the entire Russian Air Force. Emphasis on U.S Navy. Not the Air Force. How about the Marines? Russia today struggles to field a Carrier...when Putin sent the Kuznetov to Syria it quickly became a national embarrassment. Two Mig-29 fighters crashed in the first week. The smoke plume the Kuznetsov produced can be seen for miles...and the Kuztnoz deploys with two tugboats in the event its engines breakdown so they can be towed to port.
Enter the U.S Marines. The Marines field three Amphibious Carriers that will count as an aircraft carriers for most nations...oh and the Marines have their own air force independent of the navy and air force. It retired its Harrier jumpjet fleet and now flies the F-35 Stealth fighter. Think about it..this is the Marines flying Stealth fighters.
China has 3,500 aircraft's. Russia slightly lesser.
The U.S military fields 13,400 aircraft. Nineteen aircraft carriers, nine of which are nuclear powered Nimitz Class..which in itself will soon give way for the Ford Carrier. The rest of the world combined fields less than 6 aircraft carriers and none of them are on par.
So America may not hold Military Parades are display its nuclear weapons on parades for the cameras...but be not deceived. The Russians and Chinese are not fooled by the political correct nature of U.S politics. They know where not to exceed the boundary, and they know what will happen if they do something as stupid as shoot down an American aircraft or sink a U.S Vessel. Ever wonder why North Korea is all of a sudden now eager for talks with Trump?
I LOVE RUSSIA. Nigeria owes its recent successes against Boko Haram to Russian weapons. But lets be frank, the U.S military is the most powerful military machine the world has ever seen since the days of Imperial Rome. Its more powerful than the Nazi army of yesterday, its as technologically advanced as Japan and has as much nuclear weapons as Russia. That is a fact no matter how we try to pretend it is a declining power. please why is the US always trying its best to undermine Russia if their are not a threat? |

nemesis8u: Don't give a fuucck about the Americans and the Russians personally but when it comes to propaganda nobody beats the Americans .
It's so good that even propaganda against America is managed by them for their benefit
Well i heard No Russian hacking took place with regard to elections perse , it is a ruse by the anti trump faction, the narrative would have been different if Hillery billery had won.
A country like America which fuuucking taps into every Comms anywhere and everywhere be in the deep oceans be it in a space and runs global surveillance programs etc etc it's kind of difficult to buy the narrative atleast for me .
And Russia is good when it comes to R & D problem was that of funding and the lost decade due to break up of Soviet union.
Infact American saved 30+ billion dollars in R & D becz they managed to steal Russian research during cold war days. thanks for always being Dept and unbiased. your analysis are always spot on |

Sports › Re: Ebuehi, Other Players Unhappy With Rohr by giles14(m): 8:42am On Jun 29, 2018 |
edunwablog: New Benfica right-back Tyronne Ebuehi is reportedly unhappy with Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr for restriction to one match in the 2018 World Cup in Russia despite his form, a source has told our correspondent.
Ebuehi, who has a Nigerian father and a Dutch mother, pledged his international future to Nigeria in 2017 after rejecting Rohr’s invite to play in the Super Eagles’ World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Uyo on December 11, 2016.
The 22-year-old Dutch-born, who is capable of playing at left-back or right-back, was a constant threat down the right channel as he burst into the final third when he came in for Brian Idowu in the 2-0 defeat of Iceland at Volgograd Arena on June 22.
Many Nigerian fans were left fuming after Rohr ended the team’s 2-1 defeat by two-time world champions Argentina at the Saint Petersburg Stadium on Tuesday – to tumble out of the tournament – with Ebuehi idling away on the reserve bench.
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi ran Saint Petersburg-born left-back Idowu ragged – and eventually scored a splendid goal through the Amkar Perm star’s position after taking down a cracking pass from the deep by Ever Banega before beating Nigeria goalkeeper Francis Uzoho from a tight angle to open the scoring for Argentina.
But the 64-year-old German coach defended his decision, insisting Idowu deserved to end the encounter.
“Idowu was very solid in the team. He’s much better defensively and did very well against Messi. He has experience and can play on both sides of the flanks,” the former Bordeaux defence ace told reporters,
“Ebuehi is a fantastic player offensively. He played well against Iceland but he is still very young and still learning. He will definitely improve defensively and become a very important player for the team in the future.”
Our correspondent learnt Ebuehi allegedly boiled with anger as the Eagles, who were in pole position to go through, continued to make mistakes trying to defend deep and then hit the desperate Argies on the counterattack, instead of taking the game to them.
Ebuehi, who joined Portuguese giants Benfica from Dutch club ADO Den Haag in May, was visibly angry as he stormed out of the dressing room into the Mixed Zone where he snubbed the journalists who requested interviews with him after the match.
Sources also claimed that some of the players were not happy with Rohr’s instructions to launch attacks when the match was tied at 1-1 in the dying minutes, which was enough for them to go through as they were tired.
La Albiceleste manager Jorge Sampaoli seized initiative by replacing veteran holding midfielder Enzo Perez with in-demand Boca Junior forward Cristian Pavon in the 62nd minute, and throwing out sloppy PSG winger Angle Di Maria for rugged Independiente midfielder Maximiliano Meza in the 73rd minute before sending on Sergio Aguero for Nicolas Tagliafico in the 81st minute as they probed for the winner to save his team from an embarrassing exit from Russia.

Health › Re: Hepatitis B; From A Medical Laboratory Scientist Perspective by giles14(m): 2:35pm On Jun 27, 2018 |
Oseniade: Good day fellow Naira landers and how is your day going? I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist by training. For the next few days I will delve into Hepatitis B prevention, treatment etc from a Medical Laboratory Scientist view. I will try as much as possible to use layman terms for `a larger audience appreciation` and I will be brief as much as possible. It will be sectioned into days for easier follow up. Thanks.
Day 1 Today I will talk about a little history, testing, contraction and vaccine.
History : Hepatitis B is caused by a virus, hence it is a viral infection. It affects majorly the liver and can cause the infected person to develop liver cirrhosis (cancer of the liver). The liver is a highly functioning organ that to a large extent tolerate a lot of abuse. The liver can get damaged to as much as 70% before the sufferer noticed that there is something wrong with his or her system. Hence the need to get tested as soon as possible
Testing: Whenever you visit a good medical Laboratory and you request for Hepatitis B testing, what they do is to test for the Surface Antigen which is abbreviated as HBsAg(Hepatitis B surface Antigen). If you are positive for Hepatitis B you are said to be HBsAg positive and if otherwise, you are said to be HBsAg Negative.
Contraction: You contract Hepatitis B ( shortened as Hep B) majorly from sex and exchange of infected body fluids (blood, breastmilk, semen etc) and also mother to child transmission (during the course of delivery there is usually exchange of bodily fluids in which infected mother can transmit the virus to her baby)
Prevention: The number 1 prevention is abstinence from sex. You can also take Hepatitis B vaccine which prevents you from ever contracting it. The vaccine are given in 3 dosages(3 shots) intramuscular on your arm at an intervals of like 8 weeks to about 6 months depending on what is in place at where it is being administered. After your last shot, you are given another shot in 10 years time and this is what is referred to as booster dose. You should note that if for any reason you are positive, Hep B vaccines will not work for you; hence you have to go for treatment. The vaccine works by stimulating your body system to produce what is called `Hepatitis B surface Antibodiesʼ which act as the primary body defender if for any reason you come in contact with the virus. Thanks. great enlightenment. pls do mosquito in any way transmit it. do one contact HBV by sharing and eating together with an infected individual |
Politics › Re: "Suswam Engaged In Gun Battle With Fulani Herdsmen" - Chima Amadi Reveals by giles14(m): 5:17pm On Jun 26, 2018 |
stephanie11: @POLITICSNGR
A man identified as Chima Amadi has revealed that Former governor, Gabriel Suswam, who was recently arrested by the Department of state security services, DSS, once engaged in a gun battle with Fulani Herdsmen.
Amadi, took to Twitter to narrate how Suswam also predicted that President Muhammadu Buhari would have him arrested. PoliticsNGR has gotten his tweets, read them below;
Suswam stilled his look at me and took a deep sigh and said “Doc, I am certain that Buhari will arrest me very soon, not because of any corruption but because he knows I know too much about these killings. He won’t stop the killings”.This was in 2016 but first a background. Thread
I was just settling down in London in 2016 as a Chevening Scholar at the London School of Economics when I got a desperate call from a friend who is from Benue. She was weeping and told me stories of ongoing massacres in her village by Herdsmen with no one reporting them while
CSOs and influencers went silent. She said no one wanted to speak up cos they all supported the new govt of PMB. I informed her that I also campaigned and support the govt but that was no reason to condone the kind of murders that she just described. I promised to get back to her
And started surfing the net for any information on ongoing killings in the Benue. True to what she told me, information was scanty with only untrustworthy blogs and citizen reporters alluding to anything of the sorts. The Benue state Gov Ortom himself was singing the praises of
The new govt. knowing who this friend was, I knew she was not one to raise a false alarm especially when she had told me that five of her uncles in the village had already Benn hacked to death. She sent me picture evidence via WhatsApp. I made some calls back home but most
The usual vocal voices were not interested. The opinion then was that the outgone govt of GEJ messed up and it would take time for things to come back to normal esp as there were signs that the Boko Haram terrorists were being repressed and overwhelmed by the new admin.
However, when I saw more pictures and videos, this time of pregnant women being disemboweled by the herdsman and some local youths engaging in Cannibalism( roasting and eating a herdsman), I knew I had to act. I flew into Nigeria the next week and started putting in place
A CSO Colloquium on the crises . My approach was to use my networks and connections to get prominent figures from both divides to come speak in a nationally televised event. The Sec-Gen of the Miyyeti Allah is someone I have known very closely for over 20 years.
I then reached out to some Benue Citizens and that was how I contacted Gabriel Suswam, the former Gov of Benue state. After a few hiccups we finally met late one night in his home. What he told me was chilling. Due to National Security concerns I will not reveal certain aspects
Of our discussion, but he was very bitter. He said during the transition between GEJ’s govt and the incoming PMB administration, he was summoned to the Villa and GEJ took him to the then President -Elect. GEJ told PMB in Suswam’s presence that he wants only one favor from PMB
He told PMB that he didn’t care if he was probed or if his administration’s efforts at national development was reversed but PMB should please do something for him. According to Suswam,GEJ informed PMB that the brewing Herdsmen crises could eclipse the BH insurgency in its
Ramifications and implications for national cohesion and that if not tackled with expediency Nigeria may not recover. He said he had set up a committee chaired by Suswam to travel round the world looking for solutions and that they now fully have a plan that can resolve the issue
Once and for all. He begged PMB to invite Suswam for talks and to look at the recommendations of that committee. Suswam told me that he was made the Chair of the committee for an incident that happened in his state. Sometime in 2014, herdsman had sacked whole villages, killed,
raped women and burnt farms and homes of communities in rural areas in Benue. He said he didn’t believe the reports he was getting until he started seeing refugees pouring into Makurdi. One day, he mobilized his entourage which included policemen, press, soldiers and others
And proceeded to see things for himself in those communities. He said when they got to a few kilometres to the village the soldiers in his convoy, acting on instructions from HQ refused to proceed any further but he insisted on continuing. Ten minutes into the trip all hell was
Let loose. They were ambushed by Herdsmen and a battle ensued. A barrage of gunshots was unleashed on them from all sides. He said there were over 100 well-armed Herdsmen shooting at them. Done in the convoy retreated but he was already in the middle and so decided to fight for
His life. He took an AK from one of the retreating mopol men and with a few others that remained with him faced the Herdsmen fire for fire. He told me he was a trained marksman having lived in the US. In the process, two one of his security aides were shot but they continued
Fighting until the Herdsmen retreated. He said he left for Markurdi and returned the next day fully prepared and saw how villages had been taken over by cows. This time, the Herdsmen didn’t shoot him and some of them pulled out their phones and were snapping him. He decided
There and then that if he did nothing Benue would be overrun. He took actions that saw to a curtailing of the actions of these killers. It was against this backdrop that GEJ made him the chairman of the Committee. I am tired now. When I get some rest I will narrate the encounter
Between Suswam and PMB and why the latter feared for his life. keep a date . Sorry for any typos pls.

Politics › Re: Plateau Killings: Youths, Military Disagree Over Secret Burial For Victims by giles14(m): 10:11am On Jun 26, 2018 |
ottalo: The burial of over 200 victims of the recent attacks in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State carried out by suspected Fulani herdsmen generated a serious controversy following allegations that security agencies want to carry out the exercise in secret.
Sources said that relatives of the deceased wanted to pick the corpses for burial because they have started decomposing, while tension continued to escalate despite the dusk to dawn curfew imposed by the government.
Already, some travellers coming in and out of Jos were said to have been killed.
The attack was said to have spread to a village called Kwi where an old woman who could not escape was reportedly killed while many houses were burnt.
The Chairman, Public Accounts and Petition Committee in Plateau State House of Assembly representing Barkin Ladi constituency, Peter Gyendeng, and the President of Middle Belt Youth Council, Emma Zopmal, in an interview with The PUNCH, believed that the planned secret burial was to cover up some facts and conspiracy of soldiers in the killings.
According to them, every effort they made to evacuate the corpses for burial met a stiff resistance from the military hierarchy.
But the Commander of Special Military Taskforce codenamed Operation Safe Haven, Maj. Gen. Anthony Atolagbe, explained that state of the corpses was so bad that if allowed to be taken away, it would stir up serious tensions and mayhem in the state.
Gyendeng said, “We tried to take all the corpses to give them mass burial. But the STF Commandant stopped every movement that we made concerning the dead bodies. In fact, he did not allow anybody to go there yesterday (Sunday). We organised our own security and mobile policemen to escort us there. But we were stopped on the road.
“Our people stayed there till 6:pm, we had to come back for security reasons too. The corpses are still there and they have started decomposing. I’m just entering my LG now to see what else could be done. We have taken pictures of the corpses.
“It is obvious that the government does not want the world to know the genocide that is happening in my place. They are trying to cover the number of dead people in that place. All we know is that there is genocide in our land. Today (Monday), they entered a village called Kwi, there was community resistance. In a village called Bed, they sent armed soldiers to come and disarm the local people who were defending themselves.
“Yesterday (Sunday), the Fulani militia wanted to enter the area. But now, soldiers have been sent to disarm the local people, leaving them helpless. We don’t know what is happening, it is something that cannot be explained. A curfew was imposed yesterday (Sunday). But the Fulani men and their cows were escorted by soldiers at night.”
The legislator promised to make the correct figure and gory pictures of the deceased available on Tuesday (today), during parliamentary sitting.
According to Zopmal, the affected communities should resist the planned secret burial because the corpses did not belong to the security agencies and the government.
He said, “The planned secret burial is a conspiracy, we know that there is collusion between the security agencies and the Fulani people. There is no way you can force people to bury their relations when they are not ready for it. The dead bodies belong to them, so they are not government’s corpses that they will now decide when to bury them.
“The affected communities should not allow that to happen. The security agencies did not protect them. Why should they decide the burial for them? It doesn’t make any sense, they are trying to cover up what they have done. It is all part of the same attitude that the Nigerian government has been exhibiting.”
While faulting the approach of the state government, the MBYC called on Governor Simon Lalong to “immediately lift the curfew and devise another means of protecting the people.”
But reacting to the allegation, Kwara State-born Atolagbe, told The PUNCH that he did not stop Berom ethnic nationality and relatives of the deceased from carrying the corpses.
According to him, the President of Berom Youth Moulders Association, Choji Dalyop Chuwang, and the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, have agreed with him on what best should be done about the corpses to avoid another crisis.
Atolagbe also denied the allegation that trucks of cows were escorted by soldiers despite the curfew, while local vigilante natives were disarmed, saying, “nobody did that, it’s not true.”
When contacted, a male voice said the BYM President was with the governor over the crisis and would call back after the meeting.
During a brief chat with one of our correspondents, Choji Dalyop Chuwang said, “I am having a running stomach, if you give me a few minutes, I will attend to you.”
But several calls and SMS to him to confirm if really he approved the secret burial were not replied.
NAF, Police deploy helicopter, surveillance aircraft in Plateau
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force has announced the deployment of an Mi-35P combat helicopter and an Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance aircraft in Plateau State in support of efforts aimed at stopping the escalation of crisis following the killing of over 200 persons by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
A statement issued on Monday by NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Vice Marshal Olatokunbo Adesanya, said apart from restoring normalcy, “the deployment of the ISR aircraft is expected to enhance intelligence gathering.”
Also, the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has deployed an intervention force in Barkin-Ladi, and Riyom in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State and in other flashpoints across the state.
In addition to the operatives, the IG also dispatched two helicopters for aerial surveillance, five Armored Personnel Carriers, three Police Mobile Force Units, two Counter-Terrorism Squads and Police Intelligence Unit as well as conventional police personnel from other states.
The force spokesman, acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, in a statement on Monday, said the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Department of Operations, Joshiak Habila, had been directed to relocate to Jos to coordinate and supervise the operation.
The police claimed their arrival in the state had restored peace and prevent further attacks in the affected areas,.
It further explained that the IG had directed the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Monitoring Unit to lead the Special investigation Team to the affected areas and other flash points.
Moshood implored the people to support the police while cautioning them against reprisals, adding that anyone in distress or with information should call 07059473022, 08038907662, 08075391844, and 09053872296
Meanwhile, the Plateau State government on Monday frowned on the manner in which gory pictures of victims were being circulated on the social media.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, advised citizens to respect the living and dead.

Henry240: They don't have an aircraft like the Tucano or a unit like the Nigerian Air Force Regiment.
There are areas where they are better than us, there are also areas were we are better than them.
I don't think the South-African Air Force has an advantage over the Nigerian Air Force. I agree for their navy, but not the Air Force. I understand that y I said not as SSBN IS INSINUATING. we are growing anything can happen btw now n 2020 |

Henry240: What about armed drones and surveillance systems, do they have that?
They don't have a good air defence system.
We have double the attack helicopters they have.
F-7 might not be 4 Generation, but it's not a dead beat either. We use the advanced PL-9C air to air missile.
Although the JF-17 hasn't come, but it is the same class and very similar capabilities to the Gripen, even though the Gripen is slightly better. my oga i understand, in 2020 we might be on the same class but not as SSBN is insinuating. |

Henry240: What's in the South-African Air Force?
SSGN is right, the only area South-Africa has a clear advantage over Nigeria is in front line fighter jets. what of medium and light utility helicopters, standard air defense system and a good number of good fighter jets. |
