I've dated my fiancee from my year 1 in the university that's 9years now, she stood with me through thick and thin, never left me for ready made guys, she trusted and supported me and I promised myself no woman will make me happier than her so I proposed to marry her....

So I took her to see my parents for the first time, but I got the shock of my life when my mum rejected her at 1st sight for no particular reason her word was "my spirit just don't accept her" my dad was cool about my choice as long as I'm happy, I've been begging my mother to reconsider but she has made it clear she won't have anything to do with her or me if I go ahead and marry her.

I'm just confused, the last person I'll leave is my fiancee but my mum too is very special to me.
what should I do??

MOD please help forward this to FP
you are funny ,na your mama you dey marry wife for.

Clap, clap, clap for Admiral giles 14 grin Here we go again déjà vu. They come to nairaland and reel off weapons yet the countries they mention have never been able to stop a Nigerian offensive whether directly or by proxy. Where were the Cameroonian's during the invasion of the Bakassi peninsular.

You obviously know more than the Admiral in the vid. That Admiral must be so stupid not to know the threat equilibrium in his neighborhood and yet make that statement with certainty.

I'll not join issues but just look at what you typed acting admiral in your bedroom. Thanks but no thanks I enjoy my sleep.

You see that little girl wearing that sub. Lt. rank in charge of electronic and computer engineering can neutralize an incoming anti-ship missile via counter-measures. That's one option among many like CIWS suite carried on ships for self defence.

About the 76mm gun you ridicule even heavy frigates still employ guns in that category as their primary weapon. Those guns are radar guided to accurately hit their targets including incoming projectiles. Stop belittling them like others here.

Stealth OPVs are great assets at sea. Their radar cross section is highly reduced at sea making them hard to detect for annihilation. Nigeria's NNS Unity and Centenary may not be frigates but they are more modern and highly sophisticated than most frigates (I didn't say all) that currently exist in Africa today. Nigeria has missile coverttes and modern fast attack crafts among many detection capabilities to seize the initiative. You go to war with appropriate assets for the threat you face. In the Gulf of Guinea Nigeria still holds the advantage by far in the Naval balance of power.
OPV BETTER than frigate.

In Biafraa, no military will have right to invade a community....never. All healthy Biafraans shall have military training like Isrealis do; making it impossible for a military person to intimidate a civilian, because he knows everybody in Biafraa has military training and has access to gun, and can shoot it professionally. This idea of military molesting people you see in Nigeria will never happen in Biafraaland. Military will treat you like a colleague, with respect because they know your ability as a man or a woman! Even the idea of coup will be non-existent in Biafraland, before the coup plotters complete their coup, civilians who are also military officers and soldiers will bring out their guns and deal with the coup plotters themselves.

Andyblaze:
This morning I went down to get my trouser amended, prior to going I had about 5,000 naira in the pocket of this said trouser and I totally forgot I had put it in there last night. Fast forward I went to an Hassan multipurpose shop near my street where they amended clothes, shoes and bags and gave the trouser to one to amend whilst I waited.

When he was there I went home and tested the trouser on my body, then I dipped my hand into my pockets and at that moment I remembered I had put some money there last night but lo and Behold there wasn't any money in there anymore. It was crazy as I sped immediately with the trouser still on back to the shop, one arriving back there I couldn't find the man who amended my trouser. I asked his colleagues about him but they said he had left then I complained to them that the cloth he amended for me had some money in it but I couldn't find it anymore. They told me they had seen no money but that he had already left. Dang! This man has claimed sharp on me and zoomed off with my money and I was resigning to fate, he came strolled back to the shop from wherever he went to and I couldn't recognize him but the other hausa men spoke some hausan to him and then told me he's the one.. I told him i had some money in the trouser he amended but after shaping I couldn't find the money...

Love and Behold, he dipped his hand in his pocket and told me he picked it on the floor that it must have fallen while I was removing the cloth from my body after testing his work. He handed back the 5,000 naira to me.
The honesty of this Muslim fella has made my Sunday already and I couldn't help but wonder, how many of we Christians can actually do this. I know certain people who probably would have shared that money amongst themselves the moment they saw it and all connive to say they didn't see it when I had returned to complain.

THE good is not by claiming we are God - fearing, it's by our deeds.

This is a true story and happened to me minutes ago, Happy Sunday Guys.

Culture › Re: Meet Ooni Of Ife’s Sisters Who Ensured The Emergence Of A New Queen by giles14(m): 8:37am On Aug 16, 2017
omoashy:
There is no love-lost among them and Olori Wuraola.

The three, Princess Folashade, Princess Adesola and Princess Bimpe are sisters to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

Known to always appear with the monarch to most places he went especially when he was newly installed, there is obviously a supremacy battle among them and Olori Wuraola, who was the only wife and queen in the palace.
As expected, Olori Wuraola put them in their place and this ignited a silent war.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, formally took for wife, former Wuraola Itohan Sonia Otiti Zainab Obanor on March 12, 2016. Initially all seems to be well with the queen and her in-laws but everything turned awry with what a source described as “the attitude of Olori Wuraola towards family members.”

According to a report from TheCapital.ng that broke the alleged crash of the Ooni of Ife/Olori Wuraola’s marriage, one of the reasons for the challenged union is the fact that the queen is at war with her in-laws:
The report says, “Inside sources described the marriage as a sham, plagued by suspicion, hatred and devoid of love; they accused Olori of many unpublishable things and lack of commitment to her marital vows. Even as you read she is not on talking terms with her in-laws. The allegations are as wide as they are wild.”
Though sources close to the queen have denied any marriage crash, its obvious the young marriage is challenged. The sisters, who could have being a source of help for Olori Wuraola have left her in the cold.
“Unfortunately for the sisters, they cannot narrate all they have experienced in the hands of the Queen. When they went on the USA and London tours with the king, Olori Wuraola dealt with them. Before, the sisters lived in the palace but they are no longer there. In fact, when the Ooni of Ife’s father, Price Ropo Ogunwusi, clocked 75 in March 2017, Queen Wuraola, who is a daughter-in-law, was conspicuously absent at the low key get-together,” a source close to the palace said.
At the Baba Oba’s 75th birthday, the three princesses and very few family members were present.
Well, these three princesses— Princess Folashade, Princess Adesola and Princess Bimpe— who are the Kabiyesi’s eyes and ears on the social scene, saw to it that a paramount ruler in Yoruba land did not end up with just a queen. They were said to have arranged the meeting of the new queen, Bolanle who hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State, with the Ooni.
Though the new queen stays in the personal house of the Ooni, she gets the attention and love of the three princesses.

That the Ogunwusi princesses keep a close-knit family cannot be ignored in the scheme of things in the palace especially with the issue of who the king marries.

Fortunately for them, their brother, the king, honours them too.
Who are these celebrity princesses? What’s about these princesses?
For Princess Folashade Fadairo who is the third child, she read English Language ditto for her younger sister, Princess Adesola Olojede. Adebimpe Daodu read Banking and Finance at the Osun State College of Technology.
Aside the fact that they co-run a business called FOLSOLBIM VENTURES, Folashade also runs a private business called FOLAR designs which is one of the most patronised beauty and gift items outfit in Lekki Ajah axis. Sola also oversees the affairs of Alpha Reign Ventures, an outfit that sells luxury phones. Adebimpe who is the last of them, was working as a health officer at Winnipeg regional health authority in Canada. The 40-year-old has relocated to Nigeria since her brother’s installation as king.

Let me also weigh in on the old/recent news of the Super Tucano.

We have been chasing the Super Tucano since 2014, when the then Nigerian vice-president(Nammadi Sambo) talked about the possible purchase in Brazil to help balance trade with that country which was more in favour of Brazil.

For whatever reason, we have instead chosen to buy from the US. However we are still going to get 3x Tucanos from Brazil.

From a purely military side of things, the Super-Tucano is the best COIN/LICW aircraft available to Nigeria in the market today. The Nigerian government will buy the aircrafts that we need to deal with the types of threats that we face. We do not spend 10 billion dollars on defence like Algeria to buy what we want and not what we need, we simply don't have that sort of money.

The Super-Tucano is not a single role aircraft, i read someone make that comment. The Tucano can be deployed in the ISR role, Ground attack role and Anti-trafficking/smuggling role. It is a modern aircraft with a proven track record. Areas where we have pressing requirements.

On the issue of price, so many comments have been made about a rip-off, however if we are so concerned about this perhaps it is time we put our heads down and produce our own Tucano.

At 593 million dollars for 12 planes, it seems alot, however let us not forget that Nigeria purchased 12 MI-35m attack helicopters from Russia for 352 million dollars. We are talking about a helicopter we already have the infrastructure on ground to operate.

On the Tucano, fresh infrastructure, training, spares, guided munitions and aircrafts themselves for a minimum of 30 years.

In my opinion, i don't see any rip-off, we are actually getting value for money. The Tucano is not expected to take on the role of a multi-role fighter, the JF-17s whenever they arrive will do that. The Tucano is going to replace our long serving "dodo birds" in the ground attack role and can perform more tasks than the "dodo birds".

The A-29 is a fantastic aircraft for ensuring our national security and would serve us very well. I have always supported the purchase and my support continues to be unwavering.
