Politics › Re: Buhari And Osinbajo, The Moses And Aaron Of Our Time by giles14(m): 3:04pm On Sep 04, 2016
Toks2008:
President Buhari like the moses in the Bible was sent packing from the position of authority some years back but made a come back to be the leader.

This time around he did not come back with the background he was known for as a military man but as a civilian just like moses who was known to be part of pharaoh's household came back as an unassuming fellow to lead the Israelites out of Egypt to the promise land.

I don't know what anyone else believes but I strongly believe that President Buhari is the moses of our time that will lead us out of our Egypt experience, take us through the wilderness experience but may likely not enter the promise land with us.

Now let's see the allegory;

In the life of every human or nation, there is always the Egypt experience, the wilderness experience before the promise land experience.

During the Egypt experience, the situation may seem OK but it is a disguised bondage but if you decide to leave your Egypt experience, you must be ready for a very tough wilderness experience that will make you wish you go back to Egypt.

The wilderness experience is a must for anyone or any nation desiring a promise land and those who prefer to create a comfort zone in their Egypt experience will never see the promise land.

The Buhari and Osinbanjo led government are like the Moses and Aaron of our time and the years we thought were OK in the Egypt experience only seem to be because we were in great bondage to leaders who looted our treasury with impunity while patting our heads with a ticking time bomb.

The years we thought we were OK in our Egypt experience were the years our leaders fed fat on the abundance inflow of good profits from our crude oil while throwing crumbs to the floor for us to feed on.

Like the Israelites who were already frustrated with their condition and needed a quick fix, their wilderness experience was tough and very discouraging which made them doubt the competence of Moses and Aaron and in like manner,Nigerians have gone through years of frustration and in need of a quick fix but unfortunately undergoing very very tough times which is a wilderness experience for us and this has made most Nigerians doubt the competence of President Buhari and vice president Osinbanjo.

The Israelites said to Moses and Aaron,
"If only we had died by the LORD's hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death." Exodus 16:3

Yes like Moses and Aaron who made series of mistakes, it is expected for our leaders to make mistakes too but just as some Israelites persevered, prayed and supported Moses and Aaron which saw them to the promise land, let us pray and believe in the course of this seemingly "clueless" government and I'm positive that we shall get to the promise land.

Lastly, we must understand that Moses and Aaron started the journey with Israelites to the promise land but not even one of their generations who left Egypt entered the promise land but it was Joshua who eventually led the younger Israelites into it so in like manner, it just might be a Joshua who is yet unknown that will lead us to the promise land but the journey has begun and together we can channel a new course for the coming generation into a new Nigeria that will be the envy of the whole world.

Let us blame and curse less but be hopeful and let us support this government by offering viable advice and raising our voices in unity to ask questions if we are not OK with any government policy and together we will create a greater and better Nigeria for the generations to come because the journey from Egypt to the promise land will not happen overnight but we will surely get there.

God bless the Federal republic of Nigeria.
I only came to comment.

point of correction dere are moses n Aaron of ur time and not of me,my family, village, town, state.

God forbid dis kind of moses n aaron to lead me. we go cross d desert in 4000yrs.or even still we might still b in Egypt.

While they re never condemned for their own bigotry and ethnic discrimination rampant in their own lands they delightfully enjoy to concoct and highlight non-existing stories, in a desperate bid to paint northerners for what they re not.
My sisters husband who is a southern non Muslim working in that very university has never had any reason to complain of any discrimination.
I served as a youth corper in the eastern part of the country and was a regular at their universities and not for once did I ever come across a northerner who holding any key position in any of those universities. As a SS all tru my days in the university I never came across a lectural frm northern extraction let alone one holding any key positions.
Our southern institutions re dominated by our own pple and evrbdy seems satisfied with this tradition.
Why all these unnecessary campaign of hate against the north?
Why do we seem sooooo desperate to stoke and incite hate agAinst the north?

Much as this incident is a shame, your "analysis" is shallow, myopic and reeks of ignorance with lies tinged in between.

Tribalism is very common in Nigerian institutions. I come from Plateau State. In the University of Jos, in order to hold sway even as a lecturer, you must have come from the middle belt and especially, Plateau, followed very closely by the Igbos and Yorubas. And most importantly, you must be Christian.

You wil think that this is about tribe alone, but no, as humans we always have a way of exploiting our differences to gain advantages we usually wouldn't have had.

Case in point is Unizik, where I serve. Depite it being an Igbo school, you will always find Anambra people pitting wits against Igbos of other states. The VC's seat is still not given, not actually because of the magumagu he and his co-conspirator, the erstwhile VC employed to get him there, but because he is from Imo state, worst still, because he's "Mbaise" as they term it. I know this because I work right there. Even in the admission processes, in a class of 90 students, you will find that over 50 of those admitted are from Anambra, possibly with Imo getting 6 or 7, Enugu, 3 or 4, and Delta 2. Ebonyi is almost always 1 or 2. This same pattern characterizes the members of staff.

The difference is that the Igbos and those in Unijos go about it in a more civil, yet effective manner.

This is nothing peculiar to the Hausas alone, it is man's unkind treatment of mankind. Even as you typed that, you may already have been scheming on how to feed fatter than your other siblings from today's lunch, that is assuming that you still live with your parents as your response implies.

There's a reason why benevolence is such a rarity.
my broda its everywhere but dat of d core north is excess.

u are from plateau also in d north .pls with all sincerity can u b offered employment in a state like sokoto if u are not a Muslim

What I was trying to explain is some countries operate various sophisticated SAM and Nigeria still operates a damn Rolland. We are africans do not mean we should not keep up with others on technology. We do not need to start facing threat before we take actions. The rolland Nigeria operates has a low spec. Short Range, low altitude , doesn't use a sophisticated radar system. I am sorry but our Rolland will go down by just rushing some noise at its radar systems. A Mig-29 will also deliver a missile attack on our territory with the Rolland not bringing it down even at range.
chad mig 29 is not a threat.with d arrival of our jf17 blk2/3. dat threat is been taken care of

Guys you must watch these video, tester night when I finished downloading it, I just skipped through the video because it's about 43 mind video.

It shows every thing about the lives of troops in sambisa forest & CION.

At the beginning of the video soldiers where digging for water when they came under fire by BHT but they repelled the attack. Accidentally it looks like there was a friendly fire or a soldier being mistakenly ran of by a MBT.

Another part of the video I like is the tactical movement in which troops move inside Sambisa and the position of the MBT,MRAPs and Gun trucks are stationed in area of operation in case of attack.

And in the video, it shows how the NAF helps.in logistics supplies and evacuation of rescued civilians through air assets. A Lot of things you get to see in the video.

Big ups @fynline for these.....!
I totally agree with u was a great enlightenment.

but 4 things disappointed me.
1.d Vickers tanks we need to replace dem
2.d destruction of grains wen we have starving n malnourished children in IDP camps
3.lack of proper communication gadgets eg firing on advanced troops which if der was good radio communication would b avoided.
4.lastly d Augusta 109 light skin choppers have no business dere.d commander towards d end was speaking of d chopper being fired at.dis ought to b d job of d super puma or maybe d mi17.

over all it was nice seeing d stuff our troops was made of.

Almost all of us has come across one Armored vehicle in a junction in nigeria.

Niger delta militants fight in a semi-conventional warfare pattern. they do not initiate contact but grab, hold and defend ground.

airpower will come in handy here.

Let us understand our country properly before commenting. Three-quarters of the Niger Delta is now accessible by road. You can drive to Nembe and most large communities in Delta State. The NA & NN have probably 400 gunboats already. There is need for large caliber guns and artillery the kind that was used to level Camp 5 during Yaradua 's administration.

There is a valid point you are making for A29s and choppers however there are required complimentary components on the ground that must be large caliber guns with long range and other things like that .

Let us leave military logistics for the professionals. The training is now M.Sc course in war colleges and the processes and protocols of decomposing a strategy to its logistic requirements are well developed.
3/4 of ND is motorable? den now i knw u ar not in touch with d southern part of Nigeria.
