That battery icon is for my Tronsmart Bluetooth.

As for themes, go to the Themes app on your phone. Be sure to be connected to the internet. Search any of the following Aafont, Free or Moby fonts. Choose, download and apply

CrimeMan Who Spent 38 Years In Jail After Wrongful Convictions Gets $21m by gingger(op): 4:26pm On Feb 25, 2019
A man identified as Craig Coley will be getting the whooping sum of N7.6 billion after he was wrongfully convicted - The 71-year-old man who spent 38 years in prison, was wrongfully accused of the murder of a woman and her four-year-old son - Coley was pardoned by the then governor of California, Jerry Brown, after DNA evidence proved his innocence The city of Simi Valley in California recently reached a $21-million (N7.6 billion) settlement with a man who spent more than 38 years wrongfully arrested and jailed for the brutal 1978 murders of a woman and her 4-year-old son. The man identified as Craig Coley who is now 71, spent 38 years in prison for a crime he did not commit and was later pardoned by the then governor of California, Jerry Brown, who stated that the DNA evidence and a re-investigation of the Simi Valley murders proved his innocence. Officials stated that the city of Simi Valley will provide $4.6m while the rest is expected to be paid by insurance and other sources. According to the officials, the agreement would mitigate long, costly and unnecessary legal proceedings

PoliticsWe Don’t Know Who Constructed The Giant Broom, Says APC by gingger(op): 9:25pm On Feb 09, 2019
The All Progressives Congress says the party is not responsible for the giant broom monument mounted at the city gate in Abuja.

The structure, a broom which is a symbol of the All Progressives Congress, has generated widespread reactions from Nigerians, with some questioning why a party symbol would be erected at such a monumental position as the city gate of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The APC publicity secretary, Mallam Lanre Isa-Onilu in an exclusive chat with Channels Television says the giant broom was erected by Nigerians who support the Buhari-led administration.

In reaction to the PDP’s condemnation of the structure, the APC spokesman told the opposition party to erect its own symbol.

PoliticsTwo Months After Commissioning, $111m Port Harcourt Airport Yet To Become Operat by gingger(op): 5:30pm On Dec 27, 2018
“It is bad that two months after the commissioning of Port Harcourt airport, we are yet to use the new terminal. We all knew from the beginning that the terminal was not ready, but the minister forced the contractor to commission it. Now, months after the forceful commissioning, no one is able to use the terminal. As at Monday, serious work was still ongoing at the terminal and it may not be ready by March next year. That is the challenge we have been facing in this sector," a source told SaharaReporters

PoliticsBoko Haram Using Drones, Foreign Fighters – Army by gingger(op): 11:08am On Nov 30, 2018
The Nigerian Army on Thursday claimed that Boko Haram insurgents had add another dimension to their insurgency in the North-East by using drones and mercenaries to attack troops and military formations. This came after Boko Haram terrorists attacked the Nigerian Army 118 Battalion’s location in Arege in the Abadam Local Government Area of Borno State on Wednesday night, a few hours after President Muhammadu Buhari addressed military officers at the Chief of the Army Staff Conference in Maiduguri. Our correspondent learnt that the insurgents believed to be a faction of the Islamic State West African Province, which attacked the 157 Battalion in Metele on November 18, attempted to cart military weapons away from Arege but were repelled by troops.

BusinessTalks On For Access Bank To Acquire Diamond Bank by gingger(op): 7:52pm On Nov 12, 2018
Access Bank is set to add Diamond Bank’s portfolio to its assets in the next few months, The Nation has learnt.

Talks on the acquisition are on, according to sources, who said the fusion is set for the first quarter of next year.

It was gathered that both financial institutions have reached an agreement in broad terms on the acquisition. What is left is the valuation of assets, with a view to determining the level of compensation and systems’ integration, the sources said, pleading not to be named because they are not allowed to talk to the media on the matter.

It was learnt that the development leading to the impending acquisition was triggered by Diamond Bank directors who approached Access Bank for intervention in a bid to stave off a possible regulatory intervention that could lead to the withdrawal of the lender’s operating licence in the light of the bank’s depleting capital adequacy ratio on account of a huge Non Performing Loans (NPLs) portfolio put at over N150billion.

The Nation gathered that Access Bank directors examined the proposal and, after series of meetings and evaluations, accepted to acquire the entity. However, the agreement so far reached, it was understood, will not alter the name of Access Bank nor its management structure.

“It’s a complete acquisition and not a merger,” a source, who asked not to be identified, but who is familiar with the transaction, said, adding that one of the major considerations that swayed Access Bank’s directors in accepting the offer was the large branch network of the lender. “ It’s burgeoning NPLs, however, was of serious concern to Access Bank and almost becoming a disincentive, but it has been addressed,” the source added.

It was also gathered that the CBN is well acquainted with the development. The regulator’s acquiescence to the deal was informed by the recent event that led to the liquidation of Skye Bank, and the apex bank not being disposed to following that route because of the huge cost implication that a bailout of Diamond Bank might require, encouraged the discussions, “and the regulator is pleased with the level of discussions so far.”

“ The CBN encouraged the ongoing arrangement, given the fate that befell the defunct Skye Bank a few months ago. The apex bank gave its consent and approval for the actualisation of the marriage. ”

The Nation learnt that the regulator’s un-alloyed support for the emerging entity followed its unpreparedness to commit any further huge funds for the rescue of any wavering bank.

Bloomberg reported that a major investor was in the process of injecting funds into Diamond Bank on condition that the CEO, Uzoma Dozie, exits his position. The report attributed to the Chairman, Seyi Bickersteth, has since been denied by the bank.

Diamond is one of a number of smaller Nigerian lenders struggling to maintain a regulatory requirement for banks with international operations to have reserves of capital that cover at least 15 percent of outstanding loans. The company’s ratio stood at 16.3 percent at the end of September, the lender has said.

The bank cut its full-year profit forecast by more than half on Tuesday after income from operations declined. It now expects profit before tax to reach 3.8 billion naira ($10.4 million), down from a previous target of 8 billion naira.

The shares rose 2.5 percent on Wednesday, trading at 1.21 naira at the close in Lagos. The stock is down 19 percent this year, compared with a 12 percent fall on the NSE Banking 10 Index.

Diamond Bank, in a statement, said contrary to media articles, “the Board wish to clarify that the company has not received an offer from an investor to inject cash. Further to the Company’s announcement of 26 October 2018, Diamond Bank and its Board of Directors continue to review all strategic options on a regular basis. Diamond Bank would also like to clarify it enjoys the support of its major shareholders, including The Carlyle Group and Kunoch Holdings who are,

PoliticsPolice: Dino Melaye, Brother, Others To Remain In Our Custody by gingger(op): 11:15am On May 07, 2018
Despite the ruling by a Kogi State High Court compelling the Nigerian Police to return Senator Dino Melaye to an Abuja Hospital pending his full recovery, the Police saturday said there are no plans to release Melaye from his sick bed.

The court ruled on Friday, mandating the Police to return Melaye back to National Hospital, Abuja where he was receiving treatment before he was forcefully taken to Lokoja before a Kogi State Magistrate Court to stand trial for criminal offence.

But a senior Police officer who spoke to THISDAY in Abuja on condition of anonymity explained that “even though Sen. Dino Melaye is sick, he remains under Police custody until the case comes up in court.”

Asked how long Melaye would continue to be under Police custody, the source stated that “until the court states otherwise, or give order for his release, he will be remanded in custody.”

The source further added that Melaye would continue to be under guard by the Police pending when the matter comes up in court.

On the detention of Melaye’s brother and other persons, the Police source maintained that they have all been remanded in Police custody by the court.

Melaye’s brother, Moses Melaye alongside Femi Obalemo, Joseph Godwin, Kayode Emmanuel and Folorunsho Mathew were also arrested during the take-over of Sen. Melaye’s house in Maitama, Abuja.

They were accused of conspiracy and attempt to obstruct the arrest of Sen. Melaye.
Meanwhile, Melaye has been confirmed to be receiving treatment at the National Hospital, Abuja under the protective eyes of the Police.

Information about his health status in the hospital was still sketchy as the authorities in the hospital declined to respond to THISDAY inquiries saturday.

But speaking under the condition of anonymity, a top management staff of the hospital informed our correspondent that while the treatment is ongoing, Melaye is being surrounded by men of the Nigerian police.

When pressed further on whether the legislator was freed from handcuff and well taken care of, the source said “the Police are in charge. Yes, he is in the hospital, but no further information except from police.”
