A twitter user has narrated the story of how the parents of a boy rendered him an slowpoke due to poverty and an advice from a pastor.

There’s this boy I know. I’ve known him since childhood. Let’s just say he’s mentally impaired. I used to think he was born that way until last year when I found out what REALLY happened to him.

Jay was born a normal baby,and according to older people who knew him from birth, a very bright and promising child.

Then at the age of five,he fell very sick,and was diagnosed with cerebral malaria.

The doctors said it was treatable,but at the sum of 25,000 naira.

As cheap as it sounds, coughing out 25,000 in the nineties is no joke,because money had far more value then. Those were the times when we could still see 50 kobo coins still in rotation and active use.

And for a broke family, it was worse. They said they didn’t have the money.

Fortunately, Jay’s grandmother ( his mother’s mother) offered to give them the money so they could make the child better again,and gave them the 25k. Weeks passed,nobody heard from the family as to the welfare of the child.On reaching out to them,they said they were ‘handling it’

After a month,the grandmother suspected foul play,and decided to pay them a visit unannounced. To her shock,she found the boy obviously still unwell, and started asking questions.

You would not believe their answer

They said they went to a church,and a prophet told them that it’s not a hospital matter,that they just needed to pray, do deliverance, and the boy will be well.

THAT THEY DECIDED TO PRAY FOR HIM FIRST

His granny was furious. Yelled at them,asking them why they would play with the life of her grandchild. In the heat of the moment,she asked them for the money she gave them to treat the boy.

THESE MOTHERFUCKERS TOLD HER THEY HAD SPENT IT.

She was shocked,angry,disappointed to say the least. She left,but not before telling them that they would be responsible for whatever happened to the poor boy.

And responsible they were.

After then,they never made efforts to treat him again,as obviously they were too broke to take care of themselves, much more coughing up that kind of money on their own.

And that was how the boy became a full-on slowpoke.

Today,he’s a grown young man with the brain and cognitive ability of a 1 year old. They are no longer young,but are still broke,so they have to take turns taking care of him 24/7. Someone has to be with Jay at all times,to makes sure he doesn’t ruin anything,or hurt himself.

And as all the other children are married,it’s left to the woman and her husband to do the work.

They’ve made their bed,and now they’re lying on it.

50 Cent has reacted to an order by a Commanding Officer of the New York Police Order, Gonzalez Emmanuel, who called for him to be shot on sight.

Gonzalez gave the order on June 7 2018 during a roll call at the 72nd Precinct in Sunset Park. This was ahead of an appearance to be made by 50 Cent at an NYPD sanctioned boxing match in the Bronx.

According to Gonzalez, he made the comment after 50 Cent threatened him on Instagram.

A source claims:

‘The inspector just said that at roll call. I’m like WTF.’

A representative nof 50 Cent who spoke to press stated that the rapper is taking the threat serious.

‘He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun’, he said.

Reacting to the Officer’s threat, 50 Cent shared his picture on Instagram and wrote:

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says not less than 1.8 million candidates would be registered for its 2019 UTME by the end of the registration exercise scheduled for February 21.

The agency also says over 1.6 million candidates have registered for the examination.

The board’s Head, Media and Information, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed the expected candidates in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos.

Mr Benjamin expressed satisfaction at the ongoing registration exercise nationwide, adding that so far, it had been smooth with little or no hitches.

NAN reports that the registration of candidates for this year’s all Computer Based Test (CBT) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), commenced on February 10.

Meanwhile, an official bulletin of the board tagged ‘jambulletin’ issued on Sunday said over 1.6 million candidates had registered for the examination between February 10 and February 15, nationwide, with Lagos recording the highest, with 234,259 candidates.

According to the bulletin, preparations for the successful conduct of the examination scheduled to commence a few weeks from now is in top gear.

Also contained in the bulletin is the restatement of the unlikely extension of the registration deadline by the board.

“Candidates would commence the reprinting of their examination notification slips two weeks to the examination date.

“On the examination slip are candidates’ schedule for the examination, date, time and centre, as well as other necessary information about the examination.

“Two weeks to the commencement of the examination, candidates will have their slips placed on their profiles.

“However, in the event where candidates could not access their slip, such candidates can visit the board’s service portal on www.jamb.org.ng to print the slip,” the bulletin stated.

It also said that messages would as well be sent to candidates, informing them on when to reprint their e-slip.

According to the bulletin, the processes are all automated to keep candidates abreast of developments, just as messages will be sent to all candidates informing them on when to print their e-slip.

The bulletin warned candidates against coming into the examination halls with prohibited items such as wrist watches, telephones and others.

It re-assured candidates that the board was working round the clock to guarantee their full participation during the examination.

On February 16, 2019, Nigerians woke up to the rude shock of the postponement of the presidential election in the country.

The news of the postponement was revealed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in the early hours of the said date.

February 23 and March 9 were the new dates chosen for elections across the federation. It goes without saying that the postponement angered many Nigerians who would have to re-work their plans to accommodate the change.

A number of people also travelled to their polling units while others had been prepared to vote on February 16, but that was not to be.

Several aggrieved Nigerian celebs took to social media to express their anger. However, Nigerian comedian Igodye, took his annoyance a notch higher.

The funny man was definitely not in smiles as he called for the resignation of INEC’s chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, as well as an apology from President Muhammadu Buhari, who had condemned the postponement of the general elections in 2015 when he was contesting against Nigeria’s former president, Goodluck Jonathan.

Igodye shared an old video from where Buhari had condemned the postponed election in 2015. In his caption, he also explained how the date change affected him and other Nigerians personally.

He wrote:

To even make this situation worst,the postponement was carried out at Night.So when did they realise that the logistics involved was not adequately prepared for? This was how the Goodluck Jonathan past administration postponed the 2015 presidential elections and we condemned it,we felt that with the change mantra that will be end of such maladministration. The father of late baby Benaiah, has released a statement revealing why the treatment of his son was delayed.

Benaiah died on Friday, the 15th of February, while his way to Dubai for a major heart surgery, this was after Nigerians rallied to raise N70m for the procedure.

The news of the death of baby Benaiah swept through social media, leaving many heartbroken, and his father has now released a statement to reveal why the treatment was delayed. Read the statement below;

It is with great sadness that We announce the passing of our son, Baby Benaiah “braveheart” Agoboye. Baby Benaiah died on our way to the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos for a flight to Dubai Scheduled for 12.55pm local time yesterday, the 15th of February, 2019. In our company at the time was the Doctor, whose duty was to manage Benaiah’s health on the trip. He battled extensively as we raced to Afriglobal Medicare, the nearest health facility on our way to the Airport, from where we proceeded to LASUTH; where unfortunately Baby Benaiah passed at about 10.30am. His body remains at LASUTH awaiting autopsy.

The family is deeply saddened by this event, as all arrangements had been concluded for Benaiah’s treatment at the Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital(FZ LLC) in Dubai. We were scheduled to Fly with Emirates Airline, which was specially equipped with the facilities to manage Benaiah’s condition at a high altitude. We got into Lagos (when) in preparations to fly earlier but had to wait our turn since we were informed by the airline that there were other passengers with medical conditions earlier scheduled for the same arrangement.

We would like to thank everyone who has been of great support to the Monday Family through these challenging times. The team at UPTH for managing Baby Benaiah’s condition since he was 2months old, the staff and management of Afriglobal Medicare for availing us their facilities for free in time of the emergency. We also thank the team at LASUTH for their effort and support.

At least eleven persons have been killed after Boko Haram members today attacked a mosque in Kushari village in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state.

The commissioner of police in the state, Damian Chukwu, who confirmed the incident, said two suicide bombers accompanied by a gunman infiltrated the mosque. He said;

“On-the-spot assessment at the scene revealed that at about 0540hrs gunmen suspected to be BH terrorists & suicide bombers infiltrated Gwozari/Kushari in Polo general area, Maiduguri shooting sporadically & detonated IEDs strapped to their bodies,” he said.

“Eleven people including three bombers died while fifteen others sustained injuries and are currently hospitalized at the State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri.”

Although the sect has not officially claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of writing this, Nigerians on social media have bemoaned the ever stinging presence of the dangerous sect in the North-Eastern State.

Recently, rumor has it that the EFCC has LAUTECH on its top list of institutions as king den of cyber crimes.

This news, since its release has met with several reactions for and against, but it is pertinent to know that such an allegation on our prestigious institution is an assassination of character that requires immediate attention and raising eyebrow, as its implications on the great students of this institution is haphazard in the labour market and a dent on the school image on the global stage as against the true image of the higher citadel of learning.

Starting with the most recent, LAUTECH just defeated UNIOSUN in a football competition with four goals to nothing. This shows the spirit of sportsmanship that runs in the vein of Ladokites, having produced homegrown talents that has represented the institution, state, and Nigeria at large in the likes of SEYI OLOFINJANA ( Former Super Eagles Player) and a whole lot of others to mention but a few, despite the known challenges we are facing from our nonchalant governments and the TWO Constituted Authority Governors of OSUN & OYO state.

As students of a school representing Excellence, Integrity and Service, a team from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso won the Hult prize Nigeria finals held in Abuja May 2018, they won against teams from Ahmadu Bello university zaria, University of ilorin, University of Benin, University of Lagos, Ibadan and Obafemi Awolowo University Ile- Ife just to mention a few.

Note that HULT PRIZE IS THE WORLD LARGEST student competition for social good and community impact. Also a team from lautech won the Imagine Cup West Africa finals(2014) in which they represented the school in Seattle, United States (Imagine cup is the largest student competition for technology by Microsoft). On three occasions team Lautech had won the National, Regional and got to the Semifinals of the GOOGLE ONLINE MARKETING CHALLENGE, the biggest competition for digital and online marketing in the world for University Students.

Nevertheless, a student of Lautech named ISMAIL OLALEKAN (ISMUMMY) has won several HACKATHON competition both home and abroad to earn him the best Programmer in Nigeria.

All of these and many more proves that LADOKITES are good ambassador of the country, home and beyond, and all of these feats are achieved amidst several trials the institution is facing.

A missing lady found in the mortuary had her underwear partly lowered and two wounds on face, according to preliminary investigations into the mysterious disappearance and death of the Kenyan lady.

According to information from City Mortuary where the body of Mildred Akinyi Odira was discovered on the morning of Monday, February 4, the deceased had two visible wounds on her face.

The lower section of her face was crashed and her trouser torn from the top. Her inner wear was partly lowered.

Akinyi went out of radar on the morning of Tuesday, January 29. She was en route to Ruaraka Uhai Neema Hospital from her place of residence in Kariobangi, Kenya, Tuko.co.ke reports.

Before heading to the health facility, Akinyi informed security guards manning the premise where she lived that she was sick.

She had been diagnosed with hypertension, ulcers and diabetes. The guards contacted a taxi driver to come and rush her to hospital for examination.

She, however, remained unreached and attempts to trace her at the hospital were futile. According to her sister, Maureen Anyango, she discovered all was not well when Akinyi’s son failed to report to school.

It emerged the woman’s body was brought at the morgue by police officers at 6:31am on the same day she went missing.

The family called on investigators to expedite the probe. An autopsy is yet to be conducted to establish cause of injuries observed on Akinyi’s body and what might have led to her death.

A Crypto CEO has died with all the passwords necessary to to unlock all his customers’ coins.

Without their digital keys, his clients lose access to their funds. The company’s board of directors said last week it is seeking creditor protection.

According to a reports by Bloomberg News

The online startup can’t retrieve about C$190 million ($145 million) in Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ether and other digital tokens held for its customers, according to court documents filed Jan. 31 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Nor can Vancouver-based Quadriga CX pay the C$70 million in cash they’re owed.

Access to Quadriga CX’s digital “wallets” — an application that stores the keys to send and receive cryptocurrencies — appears to have been lost with the passing of Quadriga CX Chief Executive Officer Gerald Cotten, who died Dec. 9 in India from complications of Crohn’s disease. He was 30.

Cotten was always conscious about security — the laptop, email addresses and messaging system he used to run the 5-year-old business were encrypted, according to an affidavit from his widow, Jennifer Robertson.

The problem is, Robertson said she can’t find his passwords or any business records for the company. Experts brought in to try to hack into Cotten’s other computers and mobile phone met with only “limited success” and attempts to circumvent an encrypted USB key have been foiled, his widow, who lives a suburb of Halifax, said in the court filing.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan zonal office have arrested 19 suspected internet fraudsters yahoo boys with pants, charms and other assorted items used for fraud.

They were arrested at the Ologuneru Area of the metropolitan city of Ibadan and at Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State.

They are, Bamidele Ayodele Samson, Bamidele Philip, Tunji Oladapo Sowale, Bololaji Olalekan and Abdulrauf Abiodun.

Others are: Olaleye Pelumi, Anuokuwapo Olanrewaju, Paul Damilola, Olateye David Tobi, Arewa Adekunle Ibrahim, Oyesanmi Ayomikun Oluwaseun, Olaleye Israel, Adediran Kemisola, Omobolade Alarape and Olowolusi Oluwatomisin.


The four other suspects arrested early hours of Friday, February 1, 2019 at their hideout at Akobo, Ibadan are, Babatunde Afeez, Akorede Ahmed Olalekan, Adeleye Damilola and Moshod Richard.

In a sting operation led by the zonal head, Friday Ebelo, Ibadan zonal head, the suspects who are between the ages of 21 and 35 years were taken by surprise when operatives swept on them at one of their notorious havens in the city.

Five of them allegedly claimed to be undergraduates while the other 10 claimed to be self-employed in varied vocations.

They are already helping operatives with useful information.

EFCC arrests 19 yahoo boys with pants, charms in Ibadan

The Commission got wind of their activities following series of intelligence report, alleging that they engaged in various fraudulent activities ranging from obtaining money by false pretences through sending of scam emails to unsuspecting victims mostly in the United States of America, while others were engaged in romance scam on several dating sites.

At the point of arrest, EFCC operatives recovered four different models and brands of exotic cars, five laptops, 20 telephones (10 iPhones) and one small bag containing items suspected to be fetish objects (juju) from them. Several documents, including international passports, and ATM cards were recovered from them.

In a related development, operatives also arrested four other suspects on February 1, 2019 at their hideout at Akobo, Ibadan. The suspected cyber criminals are between 21 and 30 years.


Their arrest followed series of intelligence alleging that the suspected fraudsters engaged in fraudulent activities of obtaining money by false pretences from unsuspecting victims.

At the point of their arrest, EFCC operatives recovered SIM cards, one exotic car, laptops, telephones, female underwear’s and four bags of fetish objects (juju) from them. Several documents containing false pretences were also recovered from the suspects.

They will all soon be charged to court.

In a post made via the Force’ twitter page earlier today, it was revealed that the Force cannot investigate any case of pants stealing for rituals, except if it is directly linked to a case of murder or other related crimes

DMW boss, Davido has sold out the 02 arena as shared by the singer on his twitter handle few minutes ago.

After the Wireless Festival in June 2018, where Davido stole the show ahead of every artiste in the festival with a thrilling performance, the singer yet again sold out his concert at the 02Arena in London.

This show will have twenty thousand people in attendance and it won’t even hold in his parent country of Nigeria, but in the United Kingdom which makes it the unbelievable be done. And also this would be the first time in the history of African music that an African artiste would be single-handedly headlining his own show at the famous 02 Arena in London.
