The government of Iran has warned the Federal Government to release the leader of Shia Muslim, Sheikh Ibrahim al-Zakzaky arrested and illegally detained by the Nigerian army since December 2015.

Iran government also cautions Nigeria over what it describe to as “excessive crushing of unarmed Shi’ites” who are protesting against the continued detention of their leader.

The reaction of Nigerians to Saturday’s shooting of yet to be ascertained number of members of Shiite Islamic sect at Zuba bridge, Abuja, by the Nigerian army has conclusively exposed the fact that reasonable number of Nigerians have very low sense of Civic consciousness in addition to knowing absolutely nothing on how security forces ought to operate and relate with civilians in a civilized society.

Of course, I blame them not, considering that we live in Nigeria, a country where the President and Commander-In-Chief and all his security Chiefs take turn justifying and explaining away the routine massacre of hundreds of tax paying citizens by Fulani militia operating under the umbrella of a group, Miyetti Allah, which has no other person but the same President and Commander-In-Chief as Chief Patron. Living in such a country has a way of making one begin to see state violence as the norm and human life as nothing.

But first, let’s get the issue very clearly:

According to the Nigerian Army, the Shiites smashed their vehicles’ windscreens and windows, injured two soldiers and tried to cart away the “ammunitions and missiles” they were transporting simply because they (the soldiers) tried to dismantle the road block they mounted while on procession. This is the summary of the official statement by the Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General James Myam.

Before we analyze this, permit me to take us back to 2015 killing of hundredS of the same shiites by the same army. Then, their excuse was that the Shiites blocked the convoy of the Army Chief, Lt General Tukur Yusuf Buratai. Meanwhile, evidence showed that the same Army, even after killing hundredS of stick wielding Shiites, supposedly to create passage for the Army Chief, went to the home of the Shiites leader, Sheik Ibraheem Alzakzakky, and was caught on video shooting people including women and children. If we all pretend to be Savages by justifying the killing of hundredS of civilians by a National Army, just to create passage for an army Chief, how do we explain the same Army going to another location to kill more of the same people??

The federal government has giving reason why it decided to reduce the rail speed from Abuja to Kaduna from the initial 120km/h to 90km/h.

It said the reason is to avoid killing cows that pass through the rail while seeking pastures to graze on.

Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi made this known while delivering a speech at the 24th Nigerian Economic Summit on Monday, October 22.

The summit was organised by the Ministry of Budget and National Planning at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Mr Amaechi pointed out that the speed rail lines is better than narrow gauge, but maintained that 90km/h should be constructed due to restrictions by cows.

TWO SETS OF PEOPLE LISTENED TO NNAMDI KANU’S BROADCAST.

1. Those who listened to find reasons to drive home their hatred for him.

2. Those who listened so that their beliefs in him may be strengthened.

Either way, Nnamdi Kanu influences them.

Meanwhile, my respect for Nnamdi Kanu just quadrupled. You know why?

This broadcast was a trap from many gullible people to tag him a “liar” and haul all incentives on him. I’m most humbled by his honesty on the events that transpired in his home. He didn’t beat around the bush by trying to say “He was kidnapped”, rather he gave credit to “IPOB intelligence BSS” for evacuating him from the compound. This is honesty!

From what he said, he was obviously in that compound when the military came to silence him. He also said he sustained injuries in the course of his escape, and this is really sad.

To show how dangerous the mind of an average black man is, nobody is concerned about the military invasion. They’re more concerned that a man who went through such ordeal would toll their line and ask his followers to Vote. People of no conscience!

Again, his no election stance predates Buhari. I remember him vividly chanting on “No election” in 2015 even when GEJ was in power. His consistency is what makes him unique.

Many have been disappointed that he didn’t throw his weight behind any Politician, some have accused him of working for APC which is laughable while they forgot to be truthful to themselves that “Election boycott” has being the front runner of IPOB. This shows how inconsistent the brain of a Nigerian is. So they expect him to cancel the boycott so they will bring out all the allegations on earth against him that he’s been paid off. He disappointed them. He even sighted the under age vote in the north, yet people who say they’ve sane conscience expect IPOB to vote in such charade elections. Shaking my head.

The Nnamdi Kanu that spoke was a confident one that has the backing of world powers. He mentioned names and specially thanked Israeli Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and wished him a Happy Birthday. He said he owe his survival to the state of Israel and also thanked the US govt for their support. This Is MASSIVE!

He also specially thanked his sureties and those that backed him. This entails the quality of a good leader. He gave his Salute to the 28 men that fell defending him and made sure he live. This brought me to tears.

Fact is, those who cry are doing so at their own peril. We wouldn’t even be having this discussion of Restructuring if not for his presence.

Didn’t he warn you all about Buhari? Face your monster and find out ways to vote him out. IPOB is not your problem. If you believe IPOB doesn’t count, why bother?

Finally, the Fearless Leader reteiriated his stand that “He’s fully back and coming back with hell”. This is bold! More reason Nigeria should be wary of his second coming.

God bless Nnamdi Kanu. Leader like no other.

The senator representing Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has revealed his next political move after resigning from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Mr. Sani who tendered his resignation letter to APC on Saturday, said that he would still contest the forthcoming election.

He made this revelation on Sunday morning, through a post shared on his Facebook page.

The post reads: “This is to thank all my supporters and friends for the show of solidarity and assurances and support over my decision to exit the APC.

“I assure you that in the next two days you will be informed of my new party. And be rest assured I will contest in the upcoming elections Insha Allah.”

Sani, however, did not disclose the political party he will join despite the fact that the submission of lists of candidates for presidential and national assembly has closed since October 18 while that of governorship and state houses of assembly closes on November 2.

However, political parties have up till November 17 and December 1 to withdraw or replace presidential/national assembly and governorship/state houses of assembly candidates respectively.

The Media Aide of former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Lere Olayinka, has lambasted the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for subjecting his boss to media trial.

In a statement on Wednesday, Olayinka said Fayose had insisted that he be charged to court.

He wondered why the anti-graft agency has refused to do the right thing owing to the fact of it’s alleged “overwhelming evidence” against the former governor.

Former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has described as false, the claim by Governor Kayode Fayemi, that the state is indebted to the tune of N170 billion.

Leaders of South West have warned South East leaders to shun their political gimmick and support former governor of Anambra State, Mr Peter Obi, who was sele ted as the ruling mate of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The leaders gave the warning amidst tension which Obi’s choice has generated within South East leaders caucus.

Speaking to Daily Independent, a former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, Chief Olabode George, cautioned of impending doom if the leaders of the South East zone fail to support Obi.

Chief George pointed out that other regions are watching with keen interest on the ongoing development in the zone.

“My advice to our Igbo brothers is ‘Nwayo, nwayo’. Let them cool down. Anybody of Igbo extraction should bury any acrimony and support the vice presidential candidate.

“They should be united now so that in 2023, when the presidency comes to the South, it must go to the South-East. So, I want to beg them that they should be patient.

“If they do, that will show other Nigerians that there is unity, oneness, peace, and togetherness in the South East.

“Any acrimonious voice coming from there will send a negative message to other Nigerians. This is a time they must act as one and join hands for the progress of the South-East.

Also speaking, the National Publicity Secretary of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, warns leaders of the south east against any action that might jeopardise the regions chances in the future.

“The Yoruba have a saying, ‘Yoruba Ronu’, which means Yoruba think deeply. In Igbo language, it is Igbo ronu. So, the Igbo should ronu.

“One of them has been picked as vice presidential candidate. The best thing for them is to rally around him. This is not the time for the dissipation of energy. They should also not forget that what is paramount to us is restructuring. The Yoruba have the vice president now, what have they achieved?”

Yinka noted that Atiku being a man who wants to carry everybody along, would surely discuss with aggrieved.

“He’s willing to meet with South-East PDP leaders to discuss, but the option would not be about changing Peter Obi; the option would be about discussing every other political appointment with them before announcing them.

“Atiku is very open to discussing with those who are aggrieved; he wants to carry everyone along, and that’s the reason you’ve not seen him tweet about Obi’s emergence as his running mate.

“The campaign organisation has come out to say this is the running mate, but for Atiku personally, he would have to carry everyone along, which is why he has been silent about it on social media,” he added.
