A lieutenant commander of the Nigeria navy, Solomon Derikoma, was found dead inside his apartment in Kaduna state on Sunday May 12th.

According to reports, Direkoma from Rivers state, was until his death undergoing a training at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Kaduna state. He was supposed to go with his colleagues for a study tour yesterday. After waiting for him at the point where they all agreed to gather before proceeding for the tour, some of his colleagues decided to go to his house to call him.

On getting there, they found a padlock on his door suggesting he wasn't at home. Calls made to his phone were unsucessful. The padlock was broken and he was found inside his apartment in a pool of his blood. A big stone was found beside him suggesting he might have been murdered.

The police was alerted and his remain has been deposited in the morgue.

Haaaaa...

A one year and six month old baby girl has been allegedly raped by her seven year old cousin in her family compound in Lagos state.

According to activist, Gwamnishu Harrison who shared the story online, the baby was defiled two weeks ago and was never taken to the hospital. The mother and victim were chased out of the family compound when she spoke out against the evil meted on her child by her own cousin.

Her husband and his family members allegedly sent her packing after she reached out to Gwamnishu to help get justice for her daughter.

The police and waste managerment agency in Lagos state caught the man pictured above, dumping refuse on the median in Ejigbo LCDA.

As punishment for his improper act, he was made to clear all the refuse on that spot with his car and led to his house where he explained his nefarious act to members of his community.

He was reportedly made to keep the refuse within his premises for a while, and was later asked to seek the assistance of an assigned waste operator to remove the refuse and register the premises for patronage.

After "Certificate OF Return"

Regina Husband, Hon. Nwoko hit nightclub after he received his certificate of return from INEC amidst jubilation by hundreds of his supporters who thronged the INEC premises.

The ceremony was in line with an Abuja Federal High Court judgement which nullified the election of Senator Peter Nwaoboshi and declared Prince Ned Nwoko winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Delta North senatorial primary.

There is currently a deployment of heavily armed policemen around Kano Emir’s Palace and personal residents of some senior council members of the emirate, Daily Trust observed. Our reporter observed that about 10 Police Hilux Vans, which conveyed security personnel to the place, were stationed at Kofar Kudu emir’s palace, another 10 around personal residence of Chief of Staff to the Emir of Kano Malam Muhammadu Sanusi along Iyaka road.

Further observation showed that another 10 police patrol vehicles were stationed at the main entrance of Kano State Government House, while one patrol van was kept at the personal resident of the incumbent Galadiman Kano Alhaji Abbas Sanusi. Also, security personnel were stationed at the main entrance of Audu Bako State Secretariat. One of the policemen at the secretariat confided in Daily Trust that they were conveyed to the secretariat as early as 6am.

This may not be unconnected with the planned presentation of letters of appointment to the four new emirs by the state governor but when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Abdullahi, said he was not aware of the Police operation and would rather not make any comment about it. However, he said: “I will find out from my superiors why police Mopol were deployed and communicate to you. As soon as I get details of the operation, I will get back to you.”

Veteran Filmmaker, Eddie Ugbomah, is dead. The veteran filmmaker died an hour ago at the hospital where he was scheduled to undergo a surgery on Monday.

Chief Eddie Ugbomah has directed and produced films such as the Rise and Fall of Oyenusi in 1979, The Boy is Good and Apalara, a film about the life and murder of Alfa Apalara in Oko Awo, Lagos.
