One of the victims of the ATBU Bauchi bridge collapse has been identified as Salamat.

Salamat, a 200 level student studying Chemistry Education, was killed alongside four others when a pedestrian bridge at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Gubi Campus, collapsed last night during a heavy downpour.

Salamat and other students were on their way back to the hostel when the bridge linking the lecture rooms to the hostel collapsed, killing 5 and causing others to suffer various degrees of injuries.

Salamat's sister had gone on Twitter to ask for help in locating her sister after the bridge collapsed. Hours later, she returned to the platform to inform that her sister was one of those who died.

A Twitter user took to the platform to share a scathing message she received from her Computer Teacher on Facebook messenger after 13 years.

The married Computer teacher said in the chat shared that he would have raped the Twitter user while she was still his student, so her family will force him to marry her. The message stemmed from how beautiful the man's former student has now become.

Emmanuel Msughter Vihior, a 100 Level Microbiology student and Mark Tsav, a lecturer of the Federal University Wukari, Taraba State, were killed last night by suspected Jukun militias.

A second student killed by the militias is yet to be identified.

The Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof Abubakar Kundiri suspended academic activities and closed down the institution following the incident and subsequent protest by Tiv students and staff.

Lawrence Daniel, the elder brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniel, is currently being detained at the Ikoyi prison, following his arrest and arraignment at a magistrate court sitting in Igbosere.

According to the charge sheet, he was arrested alongside three others, on Friday, July 26, 2019, in Lekki, for assaulting a traffic control policeman. .

They were also accused of disturbing public peace by making a video of the officer and instigating the public against him.
