A kenyan resident uncovers a fake beggar and makes him run for his dear life to avoid being beaten up. Gistvic Reports.

The man went into a short dialogue with the beggar as he checked and carried his wounded hand which he faked .

When the beggar found out he was caught he picked up his slippers and cloth and ran for his dear life.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on April 8, 2019 secured the conviction of one Uyime Omoruyi for fraudulently inducing one Mary Cuter to deliver the sum of $999 (Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine Dollars) to him. Gistvic Reports.

Omuruyi was arraigned before Justice Samirah Bature of a Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court, Maitama on an amended charge bordering on attempted cheating and impersonation.

The charge reads: “That you, Uyime Omoruyi (aka Gen. Barnett Riggs Edward) sometimes in 2018 at Abuja within the Judicial Division of this Honourable Court, did attempt to cheat, by posing as a United States General Barnett Edward Riggs, an American soldier deployed to Afghanistan and fraudulently induced one Mary Cuter to deliver the sum of $999 (Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine Dollars) that the money is payment for clearance of a package with World Link Courier Service, a claim which you knew was false and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 320 (a) of the Penal Code punishable under section 324 of Penal Code, laws of the Federation (Abuja) 1990.” Gistvic Reports.

Omoruyi, who was first arraigned on April 4, 2019, pleaded “guilty” to the amended charge after it was read to him.

Prosecuting counsel, Best Ojukwu, thereafter, prayed the court to sentence the defendant, accordingly.

Defence counsel, Adachi Abel, however, prayed the court to temper justice with mercy, stating that the convict had shown remorse for his actions, and “he cooperated with investigators and helped them apprehend similar offenders”.

While delivering judgement, Justice Bature noted that the convict was a first-time offender and “he has saved the State from expending resources and time by pleading guilty on arraignment”.

The trial judge, thus convicted him and handed him a fine of N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira), in default of which, he will spend one year in Kuje Prison. Gistvic Reports.

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abuja Zonal Office on Saturday, April 6, 2019 arrested five suspected train ticket racketeers. Gistvic Reports.

They include, Clement Zakka, Udim Sunday Samson, Adams Danladi, Otitomoni Omobolanle and Hassan Dauda.

Investigations revealed that some members of staff of the station in connivance with some touts were defrauding unsuspecting travellers and selling train tickets at a higher rate. For economy ticket of N1,300 /N1,500 they were selling at a rate of N2,000 to N5,000 and for First Class which goes for N2,500 was being sold for between N7,000 to N15,000.

The Commission swung into action after receiving an intelligence report alleging that some group of people at the Idu and Kubwa train stations have been racketeering train tickets making it difficult for passengers to have access to tickets and further sabotaging government efforts in ensuring easy transportation across the country.

The suspects were arrested during a sting operation at the stations. Gistvic Reports.

In short interview with Punch News, two Eyewitness at the scene of kolade's death narrate how Kolade was killed by the SARS official. Gistvic Reports.

The first eyewitness on dreads said when the SARS officials held him thinking he was a yahoo boy, He never knew they were SARS because they were not on uniform and they came with danfo. He asked them what they can use to identify themselves instead they slap, beat and tore his clothes. Gistvic Reports.

The second man who was with Kolade Johnson Aka. Kaylow when he was shot dead said the SARS official who killed Kolade was carrying a rifle and was short with a big tummy wearing a black polo.
