The sad reality is that most of those old men in the red chamber do not even have a well-administered WAEC certificates, while others who can claim to be educated have no voice at all (afterall touts politics reign supreme in Nigeria). So I am not surprised that somebody will come up with a bill as stupid as this. So I should allow my relation(s) to die because some fools who cannot secure the society will send me to jail. Yet the grand commander of insecurity supervision, Gumi (GCFR), is challenging the government, if we even have one, here and there.

As far as I am concern, the bill seeking death sentence for rapists is unnecessary. First, most of these victims don't speak up immediately, how then do we know the veracity of their claims? The point is that this would encourage more politically and financially motivated blackmails. Second, our policing is bad, and this will lead to unverified harassment and victimization. Thirdly, our judicial system is as good as dead. The rate of killings on false claims of rape will soar whereas the victims mostly innocent sufferers. Let's follow advanced nations like America, where there are serious sanctions, but not death. Meanwhile, our Stealators should also focus on the massive corruption, looting and poverty ravaging the country which have turned responsible citizens to savages.

An excellent development. But unfortunately, the new generation will soon come to realize that among Nigerian leaders, one is nicknamed "recession." Truly if Nigerians had a sense of history, we would not be in this wonderful change[s][/s] chains we are into. Santayana was indeed inspired when he declared that those who forget history are bound to repeat it. Let's not repeat the past any further, let the study of history inspires our future.

My candid advice. It takes two to tango. Your girlfriend should go to the guy and let them undo what they did together. If both parties agree without grudges, even their words alone are strong enough to break the oath. It is a simple logic that does not require too much of spirituality. But
