Leaked Video: Association of Entertainment Practitioners lend support to Empress Njamah

The Association of Entertainment Practioners of Nigeria, on Monday, announced its support for Nollywood star, Empress Njamah over her leaked video.

A statement signed by the president of the Association, Agility Onwurah, and obtained by our correspondent, stated that the nude video leak is nothing to worry about, adding that the explicit material would not reduce the pedigree of the the film star.

While appealing to online media practioners to cooperate with the association, Onwurah said that the association would deploy every available legal option to ensure justice in the matter.

The statement partly reads: “Our great association makes bold to say that the video does not in any way reduce the enviable personality of Njamah who has distinguished herself in the industry both in character and professional prowess and her image is not in any way at stake as she did not indulge in any scandalous affair.

“We are not oblivious of the circumstances that led to the leaked video as she was said to have called off her engagement to an enemy in disguise who goes by the name Josh.

“We make bold to say that the video is a regrettable height, undesirable elements can desperately go in proving a point where none exists, and it leaves us to wonder what the suspect seeks to achieve with his demonstration of frustration and low life.

“The perpetrator had intended to malign and cause hate and disaffection in the minds of right-thinking members of the public against the fine actress, Empress Njamah but he has succeeded in exposing his low life and never-do-well spirit inhibiting him.

“This is not the first time our people are coming across such a scenario. In fact is a recurring decimal that induces little or no euphoria. What is however worrisome is now a man who was preparing for marriage, a man who claims to have attained maturity and ready to house a wife and father children could stoop so low and debase himself even lower than could ever be imagined that a right thinking person can go.

“What is more cheering to our great association and indeed Nigerians is that they understand the character of Empress Njamah who has consistently remained a model of decency and sound character even right from her teenage age. Never has she been associated with any scandal of any form.

“Whatever thing that may have transpired between her and the fellow who claimed to have loved her was just an honest act of trust which does not in any way impede on her morals.

“We are by this statement calling on the Nigerian Police, the DSS and INTERPOL to track and arrest the blackmailer so that he will answer for his deeds. Our association will continue to protect the image of members against desperate blackmailers whose aim is to undermine years of hard work and efforts to build a flourishing career.”

The Deputy Director of fund raising committee of APC Presidential Campaign Council, Tein T.S Jack Rich (CON) has denied rumours of him finalising plans to dump APC, saying such rumour is "patent falsehood" by people who do not mean well for the country, insisting that he is with the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

"The rumours are nothing short of patent falsehood and a desperate attempt to cause distraction" his media assistant, Mr. Obinna Simon said in a statement on Friday.

According to him, Tein Jack Rich only honoured a birthday invitation of a dear friend and Niger delta brother Timi Frank while vacationing with his family, which also had other PDP and APC members in attendance, insisting that it was not a political gathering and had nothing to do with politics.

"It is a pity that people will just use their smartphones from the comfort of their homes to concort unfounded tissue of lies just for a mess of portage.

"Fake news and false information is a challenge that is threatening our country and stiffer sanctions must be meted to these enemies of our country whose stock-in-trade is to fan the embers of disharmony and disunity.

"I dare ask, when did it become an offence for people to identify with their friends?" he stated further.

He also urged members of APC worldwide to continue working assiduously to secure victory for the party in the next month's election, expressing optimism that APC will sing the song of victory at the end of the election.

The President/Founder of BelemaOil, Nigeria's indigenous oil company, Tein Jack-Rich CON has called on the United States to fast-track the process to admit Nigeria and African Union into the membership of group of 20 (G-20) to enhance a regional development.

The business mogul made the call recently at the sideline of the US-Africa Leaders Summit in Washington D.C, United States during an engagement with US association of Majors.

Jack-Rich who was in Washington D.C in one of the sub section with US mayors told world leaders that inclusion of AU and Nigeria in G-20 is one thing Africa needs at this moment.

"What we need now is your collaboration, I want to use this medium to appeal to you that, one good thing you will do for Africa is to have the African Union as part of G-20 and Nigeria.

"Another thing I also want to appeal for is the admission of Nigeria in G-20 because Nigeria is about 19.3 per cent of Africa's total GDP. That's a strong economy.

"I'm in the energy business, one thing that we need now is technological collaboration" he said.

According to Jack-Rich, technological collaboration from developed countries can enable Africa to build a world class business hub that will engage the huge population of Africa.

He said industries are critical in generating jobs to gainfully engage the growing population of productive age bracket, calling for assistance in technology that will help Africa build industrial value chain.

The Group of Twenty (G20) comprises 19 countries — Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, United Kingdom and United States and the European Union.

The G20 members represent around 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of the global trade, and about two-thirds of the world population.

US President, Joe Biden had during the summit announced support for the African Union joining the Group of 20 (G20), a global forum for major economies, as the United States seeks to build stronger relations with African nations.

Biden said African leadership and innovation were critical to addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

That is why his administration has expressed support for reforming the United Nations Security Council to include an African representative, as well as giving the African Union a permanent place at the G20, Biden said.

Biden said African Union to the G20 would give African nations a bigger say on that issue and other key world concerns, such as climate change and the response to COVID-19.
