FIRST LADY OF KWARA STATE AND OTHERS HONOURED AS ENDING GBV AMBASSADOR DURING THE ENDING GBV CONFERENCE & AWARDS 2022

The Ending Gender Based Violence Conference & Awards 2022 was recently held at Lagos Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja on the 30th July, 2022. The Conference theme was The Role of Media & Civil Societies: Challenges & Prospects, organized by Jose Foundation UK.

The Founder, Dr. Martins Abhulimen, while delivering his opening speech said; the time has come for all hands to be on deck in fighting Gender-Based Violence. The conference event is to provide an opportunity for everyone to stand up for the rights of women and girls across the globe, to end sexual and physical violence, economic, spiritual, political, social and cultural inequality and to empower women and girls to create their own independent futures.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Her Excellency, Amb. (Dr.) Olufolake Abdulrazaq, First Lady of Kwara State. She highlighted the role Kwara State and her NGO (The Ajike People Support Centre) is playing in the fight against GBV in Nigeria. She applauded Jose Foundation UK for organizing such a laudable event at this time that the issue of GBV is becoming a challenge in the country. Amb. (Dr.) Olufolake Abdulrazaq is the Secretary, The Nigerian Governors Wives’ Forum (NGWF) and Vice Chairman, Northern Governors Wives Forum. Her Excellency is also the Erelu of Ilado and Inagbe Islands of Lagos, the Yeye Aare Soludero of Ibolo Kingdom Offa and the Labinjo of Eti-Oni.

Goodwill messages were also delivered from representatives of Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Martha Udom Emmanuel, First lady of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Barr. (Mrs) Chioma Deborah Uzodimma, First Lady of Imo State, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, First Lady of Lagos State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, First Lady of Ondo State. We also had representatives from the Director General of NAPTIP, the President, Police Officers Wives Association (POWA), Commissioner of Police FCT Police Command and Commandant, Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corps, FCT Command.

The Event came to a close with a Dinner & Award ceremony. First Ladies fighting GBV and NGOs were honoured. The Ending GBV Ambassadors were inaugurated. Dr. Martins Abhulimen was confirmed as the Commandant General of the Ending GBV Ambassadors by Her Excellency, Amb. (Dr.) Olufolake Abdulrazaq, First Lady of Kwara State. First Ladies of Kwara, Akwa Ibom, Ondo, Imo and Lagos State were honoured the Award of Excellence for fighting GBV and Ending GBV Ambassador Award 2022. Other recipient of the Ending GBV Ambassador Awards included; Amb. Atta Frimpong Addo, Amb. Christina Chibuzo Uzo-Okamgba, Amb. Patience Ogolo-Dickson, Amb. Pst. Regina Omo-Agege, Amb. Set To Commence Another Phase of Pet Projects

With the commencement of the second phase of her pet project just around the corner, current Miss Nollywood International, Queen Karina Simon, has paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Prof. Steve Azaiki, OON, member House of Representative for Yenagoa-Kolokuma/Opokuma Federal Constutency.

The winner of the 2021/22 edition of the Prestigious Miss Nollywood Beauty Pageant Queen Karina Simon during the visit said her mission was to intimate the lawmaker of her programs, which include series of humanitarian projects geared towards actualising the purpose behind the pageant.

She emphasized that being the winner of a beauty pageant goes far beyond wearing a crown, as according to her, “I want to be a role model to young girls desiring to win beauty pageants."

"I believe it is extremely important to give back to the community and nation who voted me to become the winner as the Current Miss Nollywood international 2021/22."

Queen Karina who is a Graduate of philosophy from the Niger Niger University (NDU) immediately after winning the Crown in her first three months in office embarked on skill acquisition programs where over fifty young persons were trained in different areas of interest.

In his response, Professor Steve Azaiki (OON), appreciated Queen Karina Simon for her passion towards the growth and betterment of youths in the society as a beauty queen, adding that beauty queens can lend their voices to preach the gospel of peace in society.

He assured her of his readiness to support the second the phase of her pet project since she has performed credibly well.

The founder Motivating African Youth Initiative, Ogenna Walter Ekwubiri has hosted and moderated a panel discussion at the just concluded International Women Power Conference Africa 2022.

The panel had as members, former member House of Representatives from Abia State, Nnenna Ukeje, the Founder When in Need Foundation { WIN FOUNDATION} Chief Chetachi Nwoga- Ecton, Amb. DR. Utchay Odims, Amb Dr. Becky Ogonnaya (JP), Vice President of the Management Dev. Institute Students Union Of The Gambia, AMb. Fanta Ceesay and, Obiageli Comfort Ezigbo Ubah PhD.

The discussion centered on inclusion of women and youths as well as efforts to enhance the welfare of women in Nigeria.

Ogenna a Pan African Patriotic Youth and Leading Woman advocate was also honoured in the category of 20 Young female voices in Africa.

The young giant in youth advocacy whose height is yet to be determined also made the nomination list for Igbere TV Leadership Excellence award along with Dr. Ahmad Isah, Aisha Yesufu and Harrison Gwamnishu.

Also recognized at the conference are the First Lady of Oyo State, Tamunominini Makinde, her Akwa Ibom counterpart, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, the First Lady of Kebbi State, Dr. Zainab Bagudu, and wife of Sokoto state Governor, Maryam Mairo Aminu who all bagged Governor’s Wife Impact and Compassionate Award.

The 2022 International Women Power Conference Africa had as the theme, "Revisiting Global Agenda For Gender Equality 1995".

Other dignitaries who graced the event include, HRM (Dr) Eze Martin C. Amaku Ikeduru, Chief Elisha Buba Yero ( Wakilin Kpop Ham ) Designated Ambassador of Kpop Ham. Ham Land, Ambassador Kate Igbokwe.

The conference was organised by the President & Founder Nigeria Goodwill Ambassodor Awards, African CEO Merit Award and African Leading Women Conference & Awards, Amb. Chris Odey.

He presented 50 widows with 2 Bags of rice with 50k naira cash during the conference session as his own little way of supporting them this hard time

The conference had two sessions, morning session was for lecture and panel sessions moderated by Ogenna Walter Ekwubiri while the evening was for the Awards ceremony.

24-Year-Old UniAbuja Accounting Student Emerges Queen of Peace Nigeria 2022

A 22-year-old Accounting student of University of Abuja, Queen Obiamaka Enweluzor has been crowned the Queen of Peace Nigeria 2022.

The 200-L student trounced other contestants at the just concluded pageant show hosted by the Federal Capital Territory Administration Abuja

Born March 1998, she hails from Enugwu-ukwu in Anambra state Nigeria.

This event which took place at International Conference Centre Abuja is said to be the biggest Peace Pageant in Nigeria.

The lead organizer and the President/ Founder Messengers of Peace Foundation, Dr. Suleiman Adejoh in his comment noted that Queens of Peace Pageant is targeted at promoting peaceful coexistence through pageantry using our local dialets .

According to him, all efforts are needed at this time to promote peace in the country. He further applauded the FCTA for the timely support especially the Grand Matron, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani, FCT Minister of State for the role she played in making the event a huge success.

Contestants were selected from the country's six geopolitical zones, nine were crowned at the grand finale.

Other winners include, Miriam Simon who went home with the crown of Queen Of Peace North West and, Ubani Princess Julie, Queen of Peace International.

Capt Hosa's Family Disclaim Fake Invite
For Memorial Program

Family of the late Benin born business mogul, Captain Hosa Okunbo, has disclaimed an invite purportedly making the rounds that the first year anniversary programme of his remembrance has been fixed for Monday, August 7, 2022, at St. Mathew's Anglican Church situated on Sakponba Road, Benin.

The estate of the late philantropist said that the fake invite is signed by an impostor claiming to be his widow.

According to the family of the late business mogul the authentic programme is slated for Monday, August 8, 2022, at the Wells Hosa Greenhouse Farm situated at Km 2, Benin byepass Road, Off Benin - Sapele Road.

It would be recalled that Captain Wells Hosa Okunbo died in a London Hospital on the 8th of August and not the 7th of August last year after a protracted illness.

A former Commissioner Of Culture, Arts And Humanity in Washington DC, USA, Mr Chinedu Felix Osuchukwu has been honoured with Aso Cultural Awards Ahead of 2022 Aso Cultural Festival. He was also decorated as ASO Cultural Ambassador 2022.

Players in the creative industry under the aegis of Coalition of Nigerian Entertainer have expressed shock over the death of Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh, describing her passage as a huge loss to the industry.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Saturday, President of the coalition, Amb. Kenule Nwiya said late Mrs. Ameh was a great asset to the industry who is popular for featuring in one of the popular TV series, The Johnsons and others.

Amb. Kenule Nwiya jnr expressed condolences to members of Mrs. Ameh's family, her colleagues in the creative industry and The Johnsons crew, praying God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

While praying that the industry should not experience such loss again, he advised members to pay adequate attention to their health, go for medical check up regularly, stating that remaining a star is demanding as a result of higher expectations from fans.

"Time to time, they should go for medical check up and of course we know how demanding their fans would be, when you are at top of the game, people will keep demanding more of you, your services, your music, your appearances.

"But of course, there will be need to take care of yourself. We advise that we don't joke with our health. Every member of the creative industry should have time to rest, go for medical check up at all times" he said.


The coalition's president therefore revealed that efforts are ongoing to introduce activities that will help in engaging entertainers in physical exercise to strengthen their health.


While praying for the peaceful repose of Mrs. Ameh's soul, he assured that the coalition will be part of the burial arrangements.

*Hope For Prospective Landlords As Nasarawa State Government Unveils Domak Garden Housing Project At Ground Breaking Ceremony*

The Nasarawa state deputy governor, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe on Sunday performed the traditional ground breaking of Domak Garden City Karshi in Karu local Government Council of the state.

The project is said to be one of the largest housing projects in Sub-Sahara Africa.

Dr. Akabe who represented the governor, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A Sule pledged the readiness of the state government to provide efficient and affordable housing for low and middle income earners in the state.

In his comment, the chairman DOMAK Group International, Dr. Kingsley Azonobi said the project is targeted at bridging the housing deficit in Nasarawa and Nigeria at large.

He expressed gratitude to Nasarawa State government for partnering with his organization to make this dream a reality.

The ground breaking ceremony attracted the presence of top officials of Nasarawa State government and other stakeholders in the housing sector from the neighboring Abuja.

Traditional dance troupe were around the spice up the event with their performances.

Outstanding comedians also performed at the well attended ceremony.

Not long ago, the Domak Group boss also met with the President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa in his office in Harare for housing project for citizens of the country.

Young miss Michaela Rosman and David Eze have emerged winners at teens pageant show, tagged Brain and Beauty Pageant organised by Caverra world organisation in Partnership with the OCI foundation.

This comes as the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral A.Z Gambo was honoured with award of Man of the year while Ambassador Mrs Ebele Okaro Onyiuke becomes Woman of the Year.
