A woman has taken to social media to express her frustration with Lagos property agents, accusing them of wasting clients' time by showcasing overpriced houses that often don’t match their value.

In a video she shared, she revealed that an agent took her to see a house with an annual rent of 2.5 million naira. When she tried to point out that the rent was too high for the property, the agent responded that if she didn’t want it, someone else would rent it within a week.

She further lamented that agents often call prospective tenants early in the morning to check out houses, only to show them properties that aren’t worth the time or money.

Honestly, the thought of the various heinous activities called business in Nigeria by some heartless Nigerians is worrisome.

From the man who just wants to make money by selling adulterated or dirty water, to the woman picking up empty, dirty plastics to sell kunu and zobo, and the woman mixing just anything with palm oil (red oil), not minding its harmfulness but only interested in making a profit, to another woman selling ponmo rinsed with chemicals to make it rise and thicken so she can make more profit.

Or is it the man spraying chemicals on beans and dry fish to preserve them from spoiling before they are sold? Even your popular eateries are not free from this—they preserve their cooked foods with chemicals so they don’t get spoilt if not sold on time.

One fruit seller was once caught rinsing his fresh fruits with urine. When confronted, he confessed that they do this just to preserve their cucumbers and other fruits from spoiling. There are too many examples to mention.

Most of these businesses are owned by the rich and powerful. They just don’t care what happens—only profits matter to them.

Only God knows the number of people who have died from food poisoning in this country.

Content creator Precious Ubani recently took to Instagram to share her unique experience visiting a market in the UK called Oshodi Market, known for selling a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

During her visit, she approached one of the sellers and asked if he could speak any Nigerian slang. The seller then gestured to another vendor, who immediately began speaking in Yoruba, saying, "Me, I come from Oshodi Oke."

Curious, the seller asked Precious if she was Yoruba, to which she responded that she was Igbo. The vendor then surprised her by switching to Igbo and exchanging pleasantries with her. Fascinated by how the sellers had embraced Nigerian street culture, Precious asked if they had ever been to Nigeria. One of them revealed that he was originally from Oshodi, while the other said he was from Mushin.

When asked if they had visited Oshodi before, one of the vendors replied, "No, we haven't been to Oshodi before, but we have our own Oshodi branch here—Oshodi Market. Everything is cheap here."

He went on to explain that everything in the market, including fresh fruits and vegetables, is sold for just £1 each.

Mind-boggling moment as NAFDAC discovered a large volume of fake drinks and revalidated expired products at Eziukwu Market, also known as Cemetery Market, in Aba, Abia State.

“The volume of expired products being revalidated was deeply troubling,” stated Mr. Martins Iluyomade, NAFDAC’s Director for the South-East Zone.

Consumers have been urged to stay vigilant when buying products to avoid health risks. This revelation followed an operation conducted on Tuesday, during which NAFDAC uncovered numerous fake and adulterated products. These included wines, whiskey, yogurt, carbonated drinks, chips, dry gin, and other beverages.

Some of these products were found being made under unsanitary conditions within the market, while others were expired items being relabeled with new dates.

Regarding the findings, NAFDAC has pledged to continue identifying and prosecuting those involved in these illegal activities as part of its broader mission to protect public health,” Iluyomade concluded.

I've returned such huge sums before. A shop that sells electronics was gutted by fire last year, while people were looting in the process, I decided to open the Locker where the owner keeps money and I took out all the money in it. This money was over a million Naira and this happened at night when the shop owner had closed and was sleeping in his own house. I returned the money and he confirmed it was complete. He was happy and give me about 100k but I declined the offer due to empathy and compassion. Why would I collect money from someone who lost his properties and means of livelihood to an inferno ? My conscience would kill me. Besides I wasn't even having up to a thousand naira on me during same period.
