LandMann: British Virgin Islands Cayman Islands Saudi Arabia Monaco The Bahamas Qatar Kuwait Bermuda
And others. Which of this countries above is Nigeria better than in terms of literacy rate and education, infrastructure and electricity, healthcare, road and rail infrastructure, minimum wage and quality of life, per capita income?
Just tell me one country?
Nigerians keep electing stupid leaders and keep hoping for a turn around in the situation of the country.
A smart and knowledgeable leader would run Nigeria like a business or big production company to generate income for all it needs without focusing so much on taxing everyone.
The revenue derived from all the minerals in Nigeria, including crude oil, gold, silver, lithium, iron ore etc is enough to build all the roads, provide electricity, provide public hospitals, public water and fund security... Aside from security, every other service provided can be tolled or charged to provide revenue to not only maintain the infrastructure but build new ones... electricity can be charged, accessing health care service can be charged, water can be charged, roads can be tolled, trains can be ticketed, etc...
However, corruption and inefficiency, stupidity and laziness, plus an extremely large population of foolish people is what has given us a government that is equally corrupt and knows nothing else than to keep taxing people while paying a minimum wage that can never provide the minimum necessities to survive.
Enjoy your government and enjoy your Nigeria.
The day of reckoning is coming for all of you in fortunate position in life in Nigeria who feel because of the amount of money you have and your connection to the government and people in power then the poor and vulnerable in the society do not deserve to live.
One day they'll turn on all of you and you'll become victims of the problems you created knowingly and unknowingly I didn't ask you for countries where citizens don't pay income taxes. Read again, i said taxes There is a difference between income tax and taxes. Read again. |
Politics › Re: Minimum Wage: Resign If You Can’t Pay, Labour Tackles Governors by Globad(f): 5:42am On Jun 09, 2024 |
Labour should face the governors and private sector employers
Why should there be a national minimum wage to be agreed by FG which is just a single employer to be paid by all the other employers?
Why should a worker in Zamfara or Uyo be paid the same minimum wage as a worker in Lagos or Abuja?
Why is NLC silent about the productivity of workers?
Go to where most of those workers are supposedly working and see how "busy" they are. |

LandMann: You have been conditioned like in Pavlov's dog and bell experiment to believe that more taxes is what the government needs to solve Nigeria's problem.
But what you don't know is that tax is an easy way for government to be extremely lazy and productive.
Also, tax discourages productivity.
There are countries doing well without taxing their citizens
Stop giving the corrupt and useless government in Nigeria ammunition to kill the people Which countries are doing well without taxing their citizens and how are they funding their budgets? Don't forget that income tax is not the only form of tax in a country. Also, don't compare Nigeria to a country like Qatar. |

Lagos and Abuja will definitely be independent regions on their own, for the regionalism to work. Some parasites can’t reap where they didn’t sow. Hope you know that most parts of the present Lagos state were part of the Western Region |
