For a start economic diversification is something that will take years. It is not something you do or achieve within a year. Your best economy that is not by external reserve, not by infrastructure on ground, not by industrialization or diversification. What is that Best economy based on high oil price, but underpinned by wastage, looting and debt? "Best economy" by re basing the GDP to accommodate Telecom, Nollywood and other sectors that were otherwise not part of Nigeria's GDP is now an achievement for the economic illiterates. You appear very confused. Not knowing your left from your right is your biggest issue right now. Do you sell imported goods from your 2 x 2 shop? Or you are at home unemployed?[/s]

On the average Jonathan earned over 100 dollars per barrel from oil, squandered the foreign reserve and borrowed more money with nothing to show for it. As at 2014, Jonathan was borrowing to pay salary. Is that sustainable?[/s]

Unemployment rate was 7.3% when Obama took over as the President in January 2009. It peaked at 9% by Sept 2011. That is almost 3 years into Obama Presidency. And we are talking of a USA where they have stable electricity and huge infrastructure. Buhari met a very poor infrastructure on ground.
It takes time to rebuild what has been destroyed by previous Govt. It is the nature of recovery. It gets worse before it starts to gets better.

You cannot build an economy with corruption as the working Capital.

1. I earned N100k monthly for five years. After spending on family needs and other things, I should have N20k left for savings.

2. The N20k I should keep on monthly basis in those five years, I didn't keep it but was using it on frivolities.

3. Suddenly my salary got reduced to N40k for some reason.

Will I still be able to provide for all the needs of my family as I used to when salary was N100k? Common sense should tell me and those around me that I will struggle BIG TIME while looking for alternative ways out.

Even if a wife expects her husband to still meet such needs after knowing the facts above, people around her will condemn and criticize her for not showing understanding as well as lacking perseverance.

Nigerians need to give the government reasonable time and put things in perspective of the times we are.
