Just when we thought that nothing weirder could come out of Japan, this happened: The condom cookbook.

Yes, you read that right. A cookbook centred around condoms.

According to Kotaku, the book is called Condom Meals I Want To Make For You and contains 11 utterly delicious condom-based recipes like “Condom Meat Stuffing”, “Condom Escargot (snails) Cooked with Butter” plus desserts like “Condom Cookies.” The book aims to show the durability of
condoms and believes that this could potentially lead to the spread of condoms in cooking. It also has a serious side – Japanese men are the third worst in the world for using condoms, and the book was also created to help promote safe sex.

Celebrating young women like this gives me so much pleasure. 28 year old Beverly Onwukah from Abia State has just qualified as a commercial pilot. The focused, hard working and tenacious young lady originally studied Economics at Imo State University but took the bold step to fulfill her dreams of being a pilot. She embarked on a pilot training course last year and graduated last Thursday from CDA Professional Pilot Training Academy in Daytona, Florida. Bows! Congrats to her!

The world’s tallest man, Turkey’s Sultan Kosen, who stands 2.51 metres (eight feet, nine inches) tall, today came face to face — well, face to shin — with the world’s shortest man Chandra Bahadur Dangi from Nepal, who measures just 55 centimetres (21 and a half inches).

The little and large act met as people across the globe tried to break all manner of weird and wacky world records, including banging heads, catching spears and throwing thongs.

Kosen, a 31-year-old farmer, stooped down to shake hands with 74-year-old Dangi opposite the Houses of Parliament in London. He told AFP that meeting Chandra was “amazing”, although he admitted bending the long, long way down for photographs was difficult.

“I was very interested how tall he was going to be, about how far up my legs he would go, and of course once I saw him I realised how tiny he was. I do have problems with my
knees so if I stand too long I do get tired. Even though he is short and I am tall, we have had similar struggles throughout our lives and when I look into Chandra’s eyes I can see he is a good man.”
As well as being the tallest man, Kosen’s hands are the biggest in the world — an impressive 28.5 centimetres (11.22 inches) from the wrist to the tip of his middle finger.

Meanwhile Dangi, a primordial dwarf who makes placemats and head straps for villagers carrying heavy loads, is the shortest adult ever certified by Guinness World Records. He told AFP:

“I was very pleased to see the tallest man in the world, I was curious to meet my extreme opposite. I’m so pleased to be a Guinness record holder. Thanks to this I have visited many countries and met many people. I really love it.”
The two men met today to celebrate the 10th annual Guinness World Records Day.

Two persons were feared dead and 20 others injured in a stampede at the entrance of Akwa Ibom International Stadium on Friday during its inauguration yesterday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that crowd control was a difficult task in spite of the road blocks mounted some kilometres away from the stadium. Although the spectators got tickets to enable them access the 30, 000 capacity stadium, the crowd started thronging the stadium about five hours ahead of the scheduled time for the match.

Confirming the incident, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Emem Bassey, told NAN that two
unconscious persons were taken to an undisclosed hospital.

“I was told that two persons have been taken to the hospital; these are perhaps people who were fighting at the gate in their bid to enter the stadium,” Dr. Bassey said.
He said that the third unconscious person, a woman, was revived in the stadium and had started talking.

“It should be expected; this is the first time this is happening, everybody is excited, everybody wants to enter the stadium. We have 150 medical personnel in this place and eight ambulances. All our medical teams are up and doing and all the clinics are manned,” Mr. Bassey said.
NAN reports that the security operatives at some check points were using horse whips and teargas to control the crowd.

Contacted, the state Commissioner of Police, Isaac Achong, however said, “there was no stampede, there was only crowd control. We are only controlling the crowd entering the stadium.”
When told that journalists at the stadium reported a stampede, he said, “I’m not aware” and terminated the call.

An international friendly between the home-based senior national team of Nigeria, Super Eagles B, and the U-23 National Team of Ghana, the Black Meteors, was fixed to mark the opening of the stadium.
“It is possible football fans were scrambling to enter the stadium to watch the match. That’s what I heard,” an Uyo resident, who said he was on his way to the facility, said.

The President of Ghana, John Mahama and the Ivorian Head of State, Alassane Ouattara were all in Uyo to open the new edifice.

Nobel Prize winner and Pakistani education campaigner, Malala Yousafzai, has donated $50,000 towards the reconstruction of schools in war-torn Gaza in Palestine. Many public buildings and schools in the Gaza Strip were destroyed by Israeli warplanes and tanks during Gaza’s recent conflict with Israel.

Malala made the donation yesterday Wednesday October 29th after receiving the World Children’s Prize for the rights of the child in Marienfred, Sweden. Speaking at the event, Malala said the money will be channeled through the United Nations relief agency UNRWA to help rebuild 65 schools in the Palestinian territory.

24yr old British-Nigerian lady, Joy Williams (pictured above) has died after a failed £2,000 butt enlargement surgery in Bangkok, Thailand. The young lady’s older brother, Anietie, who lives in Nigeria, said the family didn’t even know she’d traveled to Thailand.
“We don’t really know what went wrong, we only know what is in reports in the media.” Anietie said
He also said that the family is making preparations to bring her body home. According to the Daily Mail, Joy, who relocated to the UK from Nigeria in 2007 and lives with her mother in Thamesmead, died on October 23rd after visiting a clinic called SP Clinic in Thailand which she had found on the internet.

She initially visitied to the SP clinic, which she found on the internet, on October 14 to have the operation which she hoped would give her a bigger, fuller bottom.
A few days later her wounds became infected and she returned to have corrective surgery to remove the silicon implants.
But she was found dead on the operating table with a three inch-long stitched incision on her tail bone after medical staff found they were unable to resuscitate her.
Thai officials investigating her death believe her operation had been delayed to ensure Miss Williams had not eaten anything beforehand and that as a result the operation began after the clinic’s legal closing time of 7pm.
It is believed Miss Williams had long struggled with her self-esteem and been bullied at school before choosing to undergo an operation on her nose to improve her looks.

Doctor Sompob Sansiri claimed to have trained in the U.S. and been practicing since 1998, but he is now facing ten years behind bars
While in Bangkok she had been staying at the £11-a-night Vabua Asotel hotel which is used by the clinic as accommodation for its patients.

The doctor who carried out the procedure, Sompob Sansiri, 51, was later arrested and accused of negligence after it was found that he had been carrying out night-time surgery without a licence.

He has now been charged with recklessness causing death and could face 10 years in jail if found guilty.

The clinic has been closed for 60 days while investigations are carried out. Thailand is a world-leader in cosmetic surgery tourism with many companies offering procedures at discounts of up to 60 per cent. The industry earned the country £2.68billion in 2013 alone.
One of Joy’s friend who spoke with UK Telegraph said she had suffered bullying and low self esteem issues while they were in school and that she was never happy with herself.

“She was a really, really nice girl. She was very friendly and caring. She was always helping her mum with her brothers. She was a very bright girl and did well at school. She was a bit shy and quiet and I knew in later years there was something wrong and upsetting her. At school she had been bullied over her appearance and she went for surgery on her nose and face. Last time I saw her it was obvious she had had cosmetic surgery. She was fine before, she didn’t need to. She was fine the way she was but she just wasn’t happy. She had no self esteem and I guess she felt she needed to do it. She was just never happy with herself.”
Police are now waiting for the postmortem result which would determine if the doctor will be charged for medical negligence.

Mrs Agama was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on her way from an evening church on Tuesday October 21, at Leventis Bus-Stop along Port Harcourt-Aba Road, as she approached her car.

The police said yesterday that she has been rescued. A text message from the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mohammad, stated that she was rescued during a joint operation by the Police, Military And Operatives of the State Security Service The text reads;

“This is to inform you that Osiya Agama has been safely rescued during a joint operation by the Police, Military and the State Security Service. Two Suspects Were Arrested”.

The text didn’t say where she was rescued from

Zambian Vice-President Guy Scott has become the first white ruler of an African nation in 20 years after the death of President Michael Sata.
Sata died in a London hospital on Tuesday, October 28 and Scott was named interim leader on Wednesday, October 29.

The VP will fill the position until presidential elections can be held 90 days from now in accordance with the country’s constitution.
Defence Minister Edgar Lungu said:
“Dr. Scott will act as president of the Republic of Zambia until the country goes for a presidential by-election.”

The interim ruler also confirmed his appointment and announced the beginning of the mourning period for the late president.
He said:
“Elections for the office of president will take place within 90 days. In the interim I am acting president.”
“The period of national mourning will start today. We will miss our beloved president and comrade.”

Scott, whose parents were from Scotland, will however not be able to occupy the position of president permanently as he is not eligible to contest for the office due to a provision in Zambia’s constitution which bars heads of state with foreign parents.
The last white ruler in Africa was South Africa’s F.W. de Klerk who lost to Nelson Mandela in the 1994 election that ended apartheid in the country.

South Africa’s national football teams’s captain and goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa, has died after being shot at his girlfriend’s house in Vosloorus, south of Johannesburg. Meyiwa was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The 27-year-old played for Orlando Pirates in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League, and had played in Bafana Bafana’s last four Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Only on Saturday, Meyiwa was in action for his club, when they progressed to the semi-finals of the South African League Cup. Orlando Pirates beat Ajax Cape Town 4-1.

In a statement, the South African Police Service said two men had entered the house, around 8 pm, while a third man remained outside. All three fled after shots were fired, in what local media reports say was an attempted burglary.

A reward of about R153,000 (N2,300,000) has been offered for information leading to the suspects’ arrest.
