Brugo:
This is an easy win for the Maestro if he takes the matter to court.

I laugh at the gross ignorance of kids these days.

Some are ignorant because a number of Nigerian artistes have stolen words and music from foreign musicians without consequence. Notable among such Nigerian artistes is P square. I believe the only reason P Square got away with this (when they infused music from western artistes) is jurisdiction. If P Square were based in a country where the artistes had officially launched their music, they would have obtained permission.

Simi is well educated. I am surprised she didn't as much as call Prof Uwaifo before using a part of his melody and lyrics.
You don't even know what the bone of contention is, but you still went ahead to comment. Mtchew

Oritsewhandey:
Keep ranting! Plagiarism is plagiarism. Let's even leave the implication of such, if committed with the academic world.

Remember 50cent? He almost gorged out eyes of a "bootlegger" when he saw him in a New York club.

I had a friend who was barred from entering the U.S.A, at JFK Airport because he was found with photocopied 'instruction guide' of AUTOCAD SOFTWARE--98 version. They were mad at him. Those people don't take it lightly when you VIOLATE THEIR PATENT RIGHTS.
What of the Italian instrumentalist who sued Michael Jackson for part usage of his instrumental notes? He won and was paid US $18M then!

Sir Uwaifo has a case against Simi. When her ilk won't stop releasing songs after 2mins sessions in their studios. Just release noise, softened with mixed beats. Days of yore was LYRICS-CENTRIC not these noises. John Drille harped on a chord which could draw their quality men of oldies to him. Lovely country vibes from him.

Lil Kesh need go internship before mapping his own label.

God bless folks.
Pseudo-intellectual at Work again. Pretending like you know better when you don't. If I sing a song and name it Micheal does that mean that I own the copyright of such a name considering that it was existing even before I sang the song. Oya answer.

so many things wrong in this country, d people always supporting d wrong thing.
Copyright theft is a big issue, even if its just a word u copy without notifying d original owner.
trustyshoess:
What does Joromi mean? Even simi herself can't deny where she got it from. I love her rendition but the Sir Victor Uwaifo was the first person that came to my mind when I heard it
RRWraith:
More troubling is the glaring hypocrisy of nairalanders, if you go back to the thread on copyright infringement involving tekno and danfo drivers you would be convinced of the level of hypocrisy, on that thread everyone of these kids were calling for tekno's head, one even volunteered to hire a lawyer for danfo drivers, buh in this case it is a different tone... they are all berating Sir victor uwaifo cos simi is their beloved treasure.....sickening I must say
You guys should stop showcasing your ignorance nah. The only similarity between the two songs is the song title and song titiles are "hardly ever" protected by copyright. Moreover Sir Victor Uwaifo did not create the name Joromi, it existed long before him. He popularised it, yes. But he did not create it.
Travel › Re: 10 Reasons Why You Should Consider Studyin In South Korea by Gmajor(m): 6:50pm On May 11, 2018
IbnIbrahim:
Deciding where to study is a tricky decision. It can seem overwhelming to pick one country when you have the whole world to explore. There may be countries that you haven’t even considered yet. South Korea is one of the most diverse and interesting countries to study in as an international student.

Here are ten reasons why it is worth at least considering studying in South Korea:

1. Cheap cost of living
Living in South Korea, on average, is very cheap. This includes the cost of accommodation, food and transportation. For example, a taxi ride costs roughly ₩1150 (US$1) per kilometre!.

2. Excellent education institutions

South Korea is renowned for its universities. The three largest world-recognised universities are Seoul National University, Korea University, and Yonsei University. The universities all have high postgraduate employment rates and excellent reputations. South Korea also boasts the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and Sungkyunkwan University which are lesser known but equally impressive institutions.

3. Incredible food
Students’ top two priorities for food tend to be: a) cheap and b) convenient. It is a bonus if the cheap and convenient food is rather tasty too.

Korean food ticks all three boxes. The culture in South Korea revolves heavily around food, with many social gatherings having food as the focal point.

4. Varied and thriving nightlife
The country has a vibrant nightlife, with a ‘work hard, play hard‘ attitude. Many clubs are themed which can provide an interesting night out and most stay open until the early hours of the morning.

5. Kind people
Korean students are incredibly welcoming to their international peers. They are often keen to share Korean culture with those unfamiliar with their country so you will learn all the best bits about living in the country from experts.

6. Opportunity for travel
South Korea is very well located. It is within close proximity to many Asian countries including China and Japan. With the cheap travel costs, it is relatively easy to travel to them.

7. Stunning scenery
If you’re looking for scenery, it doesn’t get much better than South Korea.

8. Perfect balance between traditional and modern

If you want a mix of old traditional buildings and modern complexes and amenities then South Korea is the place for you. The country sports tall glass skyscrapers and traditional temples. It is not uncommon to see the two side by side.

9. Language
Most universities in South Korea offer language lessons alongside their courses. The classes vary in levels of difficulty so you can go in as near bilingual or a complete beginner.

10. High standard of living
South Korea is Asia’s fourth-largest economy and one of the world’s leading financial centres. It has remained relatively unscathed during the recession and has rapid economic growth, making it a promising place to live, work and study.

Travel › Cheap University To Study In Outside Nigeria by Gmajor(op):
Good day Nairalanders.
I would like to further my studies outside Nigeria.
I've heard that the USA, Canada and UK are usually very costly options (tuition and day to day living wise) for study. So, I'm in search of a country where I can study at a cheap rate while still being able to secure a part-time work to support my stay.
Also, any input of a school that offers full or part scholarship for foreign students where I can apply to wil be greatly appreciated.

greiboy:
A funny Nigerian lady tried to justify this craziness by categorically stating that her love for BBN is similar to my love of football.

I just laughed at that fallacy

Footballers are trained professionals who spend nearly 5 to 6 hours everyday training and about 100 mins running around on a football field under immerse pressure just to entertain us.

BbN contestants on the other hand, are simply excuse for entertainment and most contestants cannot even be seen as entertainers in the real sense of the word.

It gathers so much following because of the unpredictable nature of the various dramas going on in the house, but after watching almost 5 different big brother shows like I did, you won't find anything unpredictable about the show anymore.

The loud mouths
The gossiping crew
The love birds (try Kevin Pam and tazania chick because they actually got married)

The cute guys
The fighters
The quiet ones that never win, but go very far and almost always a lady

The crazy lady everyone hates
The lady that get bleeped
etc

The winners are always the down to earth men or ladies that can connect with the audience.

So like Rico like Kelvin, like Uti like karen, like Efe like Miracle.

I honestly feel it's another wasted three months where the country's legislation became a joke and the Fulani herdsmen continued with their carnage, but I don't expect anyone to care

Ever wondered why we ended here in the first place
so what did you gain after watching football?

To leave a marriage isn't such a tragedy.

A tragedy is staying in an unhappy marriage, torturing yourself ,suffering emotionally and smiling, deceiving yourself because of what people will say and finally ending in the grave as a result of depression, violence or any other trauma.

With that said ; Do well to know that what we wait around a lifetime for with one person, we can find in a moment with someone else. Self happiness over everything.

Drops pen.
It has been just 10 week. 10 WEEKS!!! did they not court. How come they are no longer together after such a small period of time?
