Fallacious claim. "Evil Dead" (2013) can't even lace the boots of "The Army of Darkness" (1992)" not to talk of the other two in the franchise prior.
I'm comparing the 2013 version to the first Evil Dead.
I prefer the 2013 version to the original

lol i barely want to watch them at home because i have found the recent ones to be formulaic, it's like they have exhausted all ideas. you have to sieve through a load of crappy low budget one's before you can even find the one that is remotely good. I don't think it's a progressive genre, imagine they are still on about a "Evil Dead" reboot in 2023?!. Infact, they have to be mixed with some element of the thriller sub-genre for the suspense and excitement.
IMO Evil Dead 2013 is better than the original.

for a more in-depth explanation of the Kimba-Simba controversy you should watch

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5B1mIfQuo4

its over 2 hours long.
But if you don't have the time or data to watch the full video, just watch the first 10 mins.

Kaycee7:
It's actually a well-known controversy, sadly

When the Kimba vs. Simba controversy is brought up, there are two things I notice right away:

1. Most people have seen The Lion King but have not seen Kimba the White Lion (KtWL).

2. Most people think KtWL is a theatrical length movie.

So to address point 1.
Why would you even defend something that you've not personally watched?
I know that in controversial topics like this, it is easy to assume that people who are making the claim that Simba ripped off Kimba have already done their homework and as such must know what they are talking about. But, has it occurred to you that they may be ignorant or biased and as such, may not be telling you the whole truth.
A rule good rule for life is to not have strong opinions about any information you've not personally verified for yourself.

For the second point:
A lot of people think that KtWL is a 90ish minute movie, so when they see the comparisons like the one GloriousGbola Posted, it's easy to see why they'll  say that Simba copied KtWL.
But kimba is in reality made of up a Manga, TV series and lot of movies which when totaled is more than 2000 minutes in lenght.  Just keep that in mind.

This type of argument is like saying vampires exist in The Vampire Diaries and vampires also exist in Twilight, therefore, The Vampire Diaries copied Twilight.

In the same vein, when you're telling your story with animals in Africa, there will be similarities in shots and characters because the settings are similar. It isn't uncommon for common tropes to be seen in similar media.
So the fact that Lion King has a baboon and a parrot isn't really a smoking gun.

Moreover, the team that made the Lion King has always been open about where they got inspiration for the story.
According to them, they wanted to make a tale of Hamlet set in the jungle, but people like to cling to superficialities andclaim they KtWL was the real inspiration which is not true.

Now, let me bust your mind, the pictures that GloriousGbola posted are from the 1996 movie that was released 4 years after The Lion King was released on 1994.
It's likely that these shots exist because the Kimba team saw the controversy surrounding the movie also decided to cash in on it.
It's also good to keep in mind that Osamu Tezuka (the creator of KtWL)  died before the Lion King was so we don't know what he thinks about this.
However, his son has come out to say that the Lion King did not copy KtWL

Shazam was not heavily marketed like Black Adam and the Flash movies.

Shazam has always been the bastard child of the DCEU.
Even the first one wasn't heavily marketed

Everything wrong with the little mermaid poster. Disney should learn to do their research more

WTF. Which kind criticism be this one?
The fact that this movies has mermaids makes your critique irrelevant. They obviously aren't going for verisimilitude because a fantasy creature is involved

If your critique was about something like a polar bear in the Lion King, then it would make sense. In this movie, it doesn't.

The movie is most likely going to be bad though

Bros you no sabi watch film.

The movie leans into the absurd and it makes sense.
In a reality where anything is possible, if you don't show the absurd happening, then you just wasted an opportunity

Opinions are subjective. Some people thought her performance was mid, some thought it was great....at the end of the day,Jaime Lee Curtis got the highest vote. It's just like my opinion that Cate was robbed for Elizabeth at the 1999 Oscars with Gwyneth winning best actress that year for Shakespeare in love

You don't understand my question.
I'm asking if it's possible to win an Oscar for best supporting character when the movie you starred in is extremely mid

is it possible for someone to win a supporting character Oscar for starring in a very mid movies.

I'm asking because of people that are claiming that Angela Bassett should have won

ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT. Excellent movie from start to the last bullet. No need for plenty talk.

Everything Everywhere All at Once - this is definitely not for shallow and unintelligent people. If you watched this movie just once and you understood it then you must have a very high IQ and I would like to be friends with you. Kindly quote me.
The story line and the editing is out of this world. Michelle Yeoh finished everything called acting in this movie.

DON'T LOOK UP - I wonder why this movie was not on the oscars list. It is a complete story of how Nigerians behave even when the truth is right in their face.

Rewriting these stories are just ruining my childhood memories of them. I really dislike Disney
"you know the original movie still exist right ? This new iteration of the story does not dent the previous one in anyway.
The originals is most likely going to be better than this one (based on the precedent that the other live action movies have set) with or without the inclusion of minorities, so don't buy into the racist talking point of "the movie is bad because of black people."

A Man called OTTO "2022"

O.T.T.O.!

This strip down version of Clint Eastwood's Gran Torino (2008) sees Tom Hanks play the titular character, a grumpy and solitary man whose grumpiness is explained through a side by side back story, with Tom Hanks actual real life son playing his younger version. His life is seemingly turned upside down when a new family moves in next to him. Despite his initial reluctance, Otto is drawn into their lives and learns the value of love, family, and community. Hanks is really solid as Otto and brings his warmth and humor to the role, while still maintaining plenty of grumpiness. But Mariana Treviño was the standout as Marisol one of the new neighbors. She brought an immense amount of charm to the role and makes her disarming of Otto's gruff exterior completely believable. The film has a warm hearted message along with some deeper themes of loss and longing, but at the same time it plays out quite predictably making the overall drama feel more generic than it is emotionally moving. It's a cute film nonetheless, and a pretty easy recommendation.
Sounds boring!

Wakanda Forever 6.8/10 (will have to approx it to 7/10) ~ (a weak 7/10)

Not as bad as it was projected here. The final fight was a bit lame. And no sensible explanation was given on how Namor was able to penetrate wakanda city.

I also wonder how Wakandans claim the be the greatest, but they do not have any sensible military.

Overall, it's a very watchable film, and I loved the part where I heard Burna boy's alone soundtrack.

To be fair, the boss fight of the first Wakanda movie was also lame
