meetme01: Who says? You have not been asked doesn't mean they don't. Have you called NIRSAL before? Have you had challenges in verifying some info in your account and you are indisposed health wise or otherwise to visit the bank in person? If not, don't say what you have not experienced.
Again, I reiterate, your BVN has nothing to do with any form of scam. If you're not convinient dropping, then don't.
When you applied for this loan, you shouldn't have dropped it either, since you know those making use of it to approve the loans. well I just aired my opinion, for those who want to send, they are free... life na risk... please who knows how we go pay back this loan...? |

meetme01: The problem we have is that we are trying to separate what is legal and what is right. In this situation, your BVN can never be used for anything. However, it is not right to give it out.
Going forward, even if you call NIRSAL for clarification, they will ask for your BVN. If you have issues with your bank and you are trying to get it fixed over the phone, your BVN will be requested. We don't know who is at the other end, yet we drop.
We have account number spread over nairaland seeking for request and assistance. No bank would ask for your BVN over the phone, once it concerns your BVN, they ask you to visit the bank.... let no one deceive you, do not give out ur BVN!! |

lanreunlimited: Thank you for your response.
We learn everyday and would appreciate you could share the implication(s).
Cheers your BVN is your financial ID, yes truly no money can be withdrawn from your account through your BVN but it leaves you exposed to potential fraudsters. Because most here are frustrated because of government slow disbursement of funds, just a little mistakes from you and you scammed. Patience is the key... I waited almost 3 weeks after approval for my funds... don't send anyone your BVN... cheers |

During this pandemic, my online biz came to a halt, but before then I had already taken a loan from carbon and branch. My Carbon loan was almost 3 months late but when they call, we just discuss on how I would repay back and why it is good I repay back. Branch didn't call but just message once in a month. my biz came back to life and I pay back the loan before eating sef... they remain the best, stay away from any other loan app in Nigeria and repay back your loan when u can |
