TravelRe: Why Some "Perfect" Canada Applications Are Still Getting Refused In 2026 by Gobdddd(m): 9:03pm On Jun 15
Tnx sir. By God's grace, I'll be there before the end of August.
My program begins in September.

relocationhub:
That's a very valuable point, especially for business owners and self-employed applicants.

Many people focus on submitting documents, but forget that visa officers are not only reviewing documents; they're trying to understand the story behind the documents.

A negative balance, overdraft, or low cash position can raise questions at first glance. However, when supported by audited accounts, turnover records, business activity, and a logical explanation, it may be interpreted very differently.

In your case, you didn't try to hide the negative balance. Instead, you explained why it existed and how it fit into the normal operation of your business. The explanation about reinvesting funds into stock to protect value against inflation gave context to the numbers.

I also agree with your second point. Applicants should remain actively involved in their applications, even when using an agent or consultant. No one understands your employment history, finances, business operations, and personal circumstances better than you do.

An application is strongest when the documents and the explanation tell the same story. When there is a gap between the two, that's often where concerns arise.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It's a good reminder that supporting evidence and proper context can be just as important as the figures themselves.
TravelRe: Why Some "Perfect" Canada Applications Are Still Getting Refused In 2026 by Gobdddd(m): 8:03pm On Jun 08
I my next application, I used that negative balance to my advantage. It became part of my economic home tie.
I showed my profit (as audited) and my annual turnover.
I explained how keeping cash could be seen as poor business management in my business sector, due to naira depreciation. I explained how the funds were re-invested into stock immediately to escape any inflation.

After seeing those explanations, they approved the visa.

If you're applying for a visa, whether you're doing it on your own or you're working with an agent, ensure you take part in the process.
If you leave it for your agent alone, you can run into the risk of him using fake documentation, creating a wrong story of you, etc.

relocationhub:
That’s a solid example of what many applicants overlook.

On paper, an overdraft or negative balance can look like “business instability,” even when the real situation is normal operational cash flow for a running business.

What changed your outcome in the second application wasn’t just the numbers, it was the explanation and structure behind them. Once the source of funds and the reason for the overdraft were clearly documented, the same profile became understandable to the officer reviewing it.

This ties back to what I mentioned in the thread: most refusals are not about one single factor like “low funds” or “missing documents,” but about how the full financial picture is interpreted.

Thanks for sharing this, it actually strengthens the discussion because it shows how documentation clarity can shift outcomes on reapplication.
TravelRe: Why Some "Perfect" Canada Applications Are Still Getting Refused In 2026 by Gobdddd(m): 4:22am On Jun 07
Mine was rejected because my proof of source of income (my company account) showed some negative balance due to the overdraft I had. They claimed it's because my business was not healthy.

This was properly explained in the next app9and approval gotten.

Oga, the 26% you saw was after over 40% of the votes were surpressed by Inec.

You forgot the ballot papers that were thrown into bushes, burnt, etc, just to get Tinubu into power

givedemwotowoto:
I have to make this important clarification for the 2027 Elections:

Nigeria has a voter turnout problem that needs to be addressed urgently. It can only be addressed if we hold ourselves accountable.

People argue that "many" people voted on election day in 2023. Those "many" people were only 26% of the registered voters.

Pay attention to the data:

93 million people were registered to vote in the 2023 elections. This represents 77% of all Nigerians of voting age.

87 million people collected their PVCs.

But only 24 million people showed up on election day to vote. Just 26% of registered voters.

In some states like Abia state, voter turnout was as low as 12%.

=================

Compare this number to the 2024 US election:

173 million Americans were registered to vote. This represents 73% of all Americans of voting age.

On election day, 65% showed up at the polls to vote. In some states, the turnout was over 75%.

=================

Compare 65% to 26%.

Low voter turnout helped Tinubu win election with only 8.7 million votes. Remember, 87 million people collected their PVCs.

If turnout is low again in 2027, it’s game over for opposition.

Show up at the PUs and overwhelm them. Vote and wait for votes to be counted, captured on camera. Don't forget to mention your PU name and date on camera while recording. Accompany them to INEC office and sleep there till results are announced.

This shouldn't be too much for any Nigerian to do knowing what's coming if Tinubu wins re-election.

I appreciate your response and I can say you are mostly correct based on my research. However, I'm not worried about getting him into a Welding program in AB. I just want to understand what the challenges are in the eyes of a Naija international student who's lived that experience.

Based on the info I have gathered:
==> Study welding at SAIT
==> Graduate and apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP)
==> Use your SAIT training to:
====>Get hired faster
====>Convince an employer to sponsor you
==>Register apprenticeship => complete hours => write exams => become certified

Who's studying in SAIT/NAIT, please shout it out? Thanks

Good evening People of God.
Ii got my study visa approved since February.
Will be in Canada in August for my September 2026 class kickoff.
At this time, I need some guidance.

1) How easy or difficult is it to get a house or apartment (as they call it) in Calgary?
2) My school is SAIT, (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology), which locations are better and convenient for me? I don't need to spend much on transportation.
3) Is it cheaper to get a winter suite her in Nigeria or should I leave it and buy in Canada?
4) I understand I can work just for 24hrs weekly, to what extent, precisely, can the pay here take me? I am self sponsored!
5) I understand I can on have 23kg each for 2 bags, excess of which I'll pay. Should I get more of food or clothes?
6) As someone going for electrical trades technology, how easy or tough can I get a job as a student?
7) Which bank will you advise a new comer to open a d what type of account? (I will deposit my 2nd semester tuition and living expenses in that account)
cool If I work hard, can I raise my 2nd year tuition? I am paying 23,200 for year 1.
9) Housing, what rental price range is a cool deal if I can find one? I need a personal room and don't mind sharing kitchen or toilet

I will appreciate if those that know the exact answers to this question can assist me.
Thank you.

Manchester City make the trip to Leicester City on Sunday again hoping for a reprieve from their miserable form.

A 1-1 draw with Everton, in which Erling Haaland missed a penalty, made in one win in nine in the Premier League for the champions, who are now 12 points off table-topping Liverpool.

It was another frustrating day for City, who bosses possession but again still struggled to find the crucial click in attack to make their dominance count.

As a banker, in 2013, I was flown to EFCC headquarters for a crime I knew nothing about.
My offence was that I was the account officer to the culprit.
There, I saw bankers shed tears on crimes they knew nothing about but we're going in for it because they were "friendly" in dealings with these criminals.

Returning, I was again, summoned to the PH office for yet another customer who allegedly committed crime with a student account I opened for him.

I went to his school, only to confirm that the admission letter, school fees onllie receipt and iD he provided were fake.
All course resps were invited and non could identify him.
It was clear he had possibly committed a crime. I don't know what it was. There was no BVN then.
At that point, I was like, I am done with this job.

It's not funny 🤣 🤣 🤣

Omo, my story long oooo.
In 2008, I was a young banker with one of the leading commercial banks.
I thought I was at the crescendo of life. A young 24y/o seeing my own money.
Most of my mates then were still struggling with life.
Until later on in 2011, Sanusi ordered the sale of my institution. That was when I asked myself what in have achieved, assuming I am sacked as others were.
I immediately recalled myself, started saving, married in 2012.
By 2013, I had already opened my own business, and electrical shop. My wife was managing it while I did oversight function.
2014, I resigned (and that was my mega decision). It was tough anyway.
Fast forward to 2024, I now have my own duplex and sooner, I will move with family (4kids now) to Canada, by God's grace on a study programme.
That will be the stage 3 mega decision.

I am really glad I took that decision for which non but my wife saw as a smart one in 2014. It paid off.

I am considering between Polystyrene Pop and cement pop.

But, today, the polystyrene guy told me cement pop
Usually collapse some times.

Is this an omen that I should go ahead with the Polystyrene or is it a coincidence?

Glimpsetv:
A popular Nigerian comedian, Zicsaloma, whose real name is Aloma Isaac Junior, recently had a close call after his living room ceiling collapsed. In a video he posted, Zicsaloma showed the damage caused by the ceiling’s sudden fall, which happened just one day after some campers had left his home.

In the video, Zicsaloma explained that he was asleep when he heard a loud crashing sound. Feeling nervous, he got up to check, only to find that the POP ceiling in his living room had come crashing down.

The comedian used the opportunity to advise Nigerians to always look for experienced artisans for their building projects, explaining that many of them will often claim they can do the job well, but in reality, some didn't take the time to properly learn the job from their bosses before rushing into contracts.

Fans responded to the video on his Instagram, expressing gratitude that he was safe and unharmed.
