Botragelad: The BRICS nations are free to make their own decisions, But, if you're gonna chat about ditching the US dollar and reduce reliance, you gotta ask yourself, why are you still using it? The US dollar is still the global reserve currency, and it's hard to see that changing anytime soon.
The BRICS countries still got a long way to go before they can challenge the US, know what I'm saying? So, yeah, it's all good and well to talk about replacing the US dollar(your choice), but until someone comes up with a viable alternative, it's just chat. The US economy is still the biggest and the strongest, and it's gonna stay that way for the foreseeable future.
This is a viable alternative man
If Donald trump actually read a book, he’d learn that neither protectionism nor isolationism work in this 21st century, these countries can do the same tarrif on US as well
You don't know that U.S. arrogance and bullish behavior is the very reason BRICS was formed
He's going to destroy US economy and push allies away, he knows nothing
I don't think this will work, countries are at liberty to decide their own future and do anything that serve their national interest first, afterall that's what Donald trump stands for with his America first slogan
Shortly after the Chinese crypto entrepreneur Justin Sun bought Maurizio Cattelan's Comedian (2019) for an astonishing $6.2m last week at Sotheby's New York, he wrote on X of his intention to eat the banana component of the conceptual work.
Sun fulfilled his promise today at a press conference held at the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong, taking two bites out of the world's most expensive banana. “Eating it at a press conference can also become a part of the artwork's history,” he said, likening the conceptual work to NFTs and blockchain-based art. “Most of its objects and ideas exist as (intellectual property) and on the internet, as opposed to something physical.”
Sun said he felt “disbelief” when he made the winning bid, beating out other crypto collectors Ryan Zurrer and Cozomo de’Medici.
Senegalese authorities have directed the closure of all French military bases in the country as the 80th anniversary of the Thiaroye massacre approaches.
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, in an interview with AFP, reiterated that French military presence in Senegal is incompatible with the country’s sovereignty.
Faye, who won the March elections with a vow to assert Senegal's independence, commented on France’s acknowledgment of its role in the 1944 massacre, in which Senegalese soldiers were killed by French forces.
“Senegal is an independent country, it is a sovereign country and sovereignty does not accept the presence of military bases in a sovereign country,” he said from the presidential palace.
Although Senegal seeks to assert its sovereignty, Faye emphasised that this decision does not sever ties with France, unlike the actions of other West African nations.
“Today, China is our largest trading partner in terms of investment and trade. Does China have a military presence in Senegal? No. Does that mean our relations are cut? No,” he remarked.
Faye’s comments come in the context of a broader shift in West Africa, where countries like Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger have expelled French forces in favour of Russian military support.
French government sources recently revealed plans to reduce its African military presence, including cutting troops in Senegal from 350 to 100.
While France remains a key partner in trade and investment, Faye acknowledged that France’s apology for the Thiaroye massacre marked an important step forward.
He received a letter from French President Macron admitting responsibility for the 1944 massacre, where at least 35 Senegalese soldiers were killed after protesting delayed pay.
“I received today a letter from President Emmanuel Macron in which he acknowledges that it was a massacre, very clearly, unambiguously on the terms,” Faye said.
Faye called Macron’s acknowledgment a "great step" but also expressed his intention to seek further reparations.
“To recognise that a massacre has been committed must obviously have the effect of making amends, we think that naturally this is what must follow,” he added.

number of unidentified drones have been spotted over three United States Air Force bases in England over the last six days, U.S. officials said on Tuesday.
"Small unmanned aerial systems were spotted in the vicinity of and over RAF Lakenheath, RAF Mildenhall, and RAF Feltwell from Nov 20 to Nov 26," a spokesperson said in an emailed response to Reuters.
The three bases, two in Suffolk and one in Norfolk, are leased by the USAF from Britain.
Pentagon spokesman Major General Patrick Ryder said that the U.S. military was taking the incidents seriously.
"Installation leaders have determined so far that none of these incursions impact the base residents, the facilities or the assets that we have on those bases," Ryder said.
He said that small drones are fairly common and it was too soon to draw conclusions about whether they were sent by hobbyists or others.
However, a U.S. official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said it did not appear that the drones were the work of hobbyists and appeared to be coordinated, but added that the U.S. military would continue to investigate.
A spokesperson for Britain's Ministry of Defence (MOD) said they "take threats seriously and maintain robust measures" at defence sites.
"We are supporting the U.S. Air Force response," the spokesperson added.
Citing sources, PA Media reported that British troops have been drafted in to help the U.S. Air Force find out who was responsible for the drones flying over its bases. The Times newspaper said about 60 military personnel have been deployed.
The MOD and the USAF did not immediately reply to a request for comment on the deployment of the troops.
In Gen 6:3, God said, my spirit shall not remain in man for ever and his days shall be 120 years, but the age of man extended far beyond 120 years after the flood
Even today men continue to live well past 120 years. So, is there a contradiction between what God decreed and what actually came to pass?

Jakes, a celebrity pastor and motivational speaker, spoke about the joys of preaching shortly before the incident occurred.
Bishop Thomas Dexter (T.D.) Jakes, popular American preacher, has suffered a medical emergency while delivering a sermon on Sunday, according to the megachurch Potter’s House of Dallas, Texas, United States, where he serves as pastor.
A video of the incident showed the renowned Christian pastor lowering his microphone and shaking in his seat before people around him rushed to his aid.
In a statement, the church said Jakes "experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour long message."
"Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals," the church said. "The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community."
Jakes founded the 30,000-member megachurch in southern Dallas, Texas, in 1996.
Church services at the Potter's House of Dallas suddenly stopped on Sunday when Bishop T.D. Jakes suffered the health incident mid-sermon.
Jakes, a celebrity pastor and motivational speaker, spoke about the joys of preaching shortly before the incident occurred.
Video of the medical emergency spread across social media shortly after the incident.
"I still love to preach. I ain't tired of preaching," Jakes, 67, said to the audience. "I miss you."
"Have you ever gone to a hospital to visit somebody and you thought it was going to encourage them, and they encourage you?" That's what preaching is like," he continued. "You think you're giving out something, you're getting back more than you gave."
The pastor then moved on to quoting Psalm 19:14 before going silent.
"Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, my redeemer, let them go in peace," he said.
Jakes then stopped speaking and appeared to spasm while sitting in his chair and staring into the distance.
Attendees rushed on stage to help him, and a speaker asked the audience to pray for him while he was being tended to.
The preacher's social media account posted an update about the medical emergency later on Sunday.
"During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message," the statement read.
The update also added that Jakes is currently "stable and under the care of medical professionals."
"The entire Potter's House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community," the message added. "Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers."
TheTundeMuniru: There are questions you ask people, their answers reflects what lives in the innermost of their mind. No woman living can deceive me, my life experiences taught me well.
Well, the lady herself is rich and from a rich home. Moreso, it was my parents who introduced the lady to me. They needed to plead with me so hard to know the lady before declining their offer.
hmm, But you should have let the first girl know since that you both are not compatible, you wasted her time
TheTundeMuniru: The looks of any woman doesn't move me, rather the contents of her heart.
My newly found girl resonates with my life mission. I have a calling to serve humanity and she shares just the same vision as mine. Her passion lies in stretching the help hands to as much people as she can, she wanna do that till the rest of her life and that's the exact same thing I want from life.
But the first lady doesn't want that, she just want us to live and enjoy life.
And how do you know your newly found girl is not faking all the good altitude just to get married to you? Someone you just met
Remember, some ladies will pretend to be anything when they see a man that is okay, would this new girl even consider you at all if you were broke?
ekineme: In War, there's nothing like proportionality, We only have Victims and Aggressors. That's why the word deterrent exist" if you know the price of provoking a stronger opponent is high you won't dare it''. Secondly, Hamas rejoices in death and sees it as means of achieving martyrdom (72...) While isrealis value Life and adore the sanctity of life, that's why you don't see them mutilating their enemies even in death( Case study of sinwar).
Do you think if Hamas has means of IDF, there will be a single life left in Isreal? Think again. Allowing your enemy to regroup and re organise to attack again is not observing int'l law.
Finally if someone is committing genocide or has portray intent to commit genocide it is Iran. You fire more 300 missiles into a country, what kind of result were there expecting? Another one is Hamas firing rocket into civilian population, what is the intent.
My brother, lets be rational in our reasoning, if Isreal should reciprocate the no of drones, missile and rocket into either Lebanon, Gaza or Iran. What do you think will happen?.
Let them release the hostages then come to negotiation table and err their grievances if any like civilized human being, but it they choose the part of violence, then people like you holding Isreal back from finishing the Job are the real enemies of humanity.
Arguing with your type is very difficult, I don't like it when people ignore facts and twist things to suit their narrative.
Stop wishing other people harm, imagine Nigerian army doing this to your tribe for over a year because some hoodlums in your tribe committed such act, people like you will be everywhere crying and writing petitions to UN, ECOWAS and AU.
