naptu2: It became a civil war between the Autopiloters, which is Simon Ekpa's faction and the DOS, which is the structure that Nnamdi Kanu created before he was arrested. Both factions claimed that they had sacked the other.
This statement is from the DOS faction.
I understand you brother, but some of us are shocked at his repudiation by IPOB
What about Emma powerful, which faction does he belong to? It seems they kicked him out of the group
Emma powerful used to be their spokesperson before
She stated that the deceased’s brother, Jimoh Godday, residing in Imota Town in Lagos State, informed the police team that his brother had arrived in Nigeria from the U.S. on Saturday.
"He mentioned that he had called him (Abidoye) on Monday, and after not getting a response, he visited the hotel
“He also said, after knocking the door severally, he requested a spare key from the hotel manager to enter the room, where they discovered his brother’s lifeless body.
From this story, i don't think there's any foul play, but autopsy should be conducted
seborrhic: Infact,I pray that God keeps one alive to watch and laugh as the millions of foolish Americans that voted in that scammer, fraud and incompetent bastard, start crying and hopefully dying in silence through their stu pidity. T,I don't even like spelling out his full useless name, was and his second tenure will only go to reconfirm, worst president America has ever and may ever have. I lost interest and stopped viewing all news about US,on all platforms since that night. So please update me:did the Democrats gain control of any of the chambers?
the republicans are in control of the two Chambers right now, they took the Senate from the democrats
Just look at the kind of people Donald trump is appointing, people with questionable character, very shameful
This is one thing I like about the democrats, they will never make the mistake of appointing people with scandals and dark past, but I'm not surprised, Donald trump himself is a convicted felon
The court alleges that the offences date back to August 23, 2021.
A Finland district court in Lahti on Thursday, ordered the imprisonment of Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), on probable cause for public incitement to commit a crime with terrorist intent in Nigeria.
Ekpa was accused of using social media platforms to spread separatist propaganda linked to IPOB, a group advocating for the secession of southeastern Nigeria.
The court alleges that the offences date back to August 23, 2021.
Finland authorities have also investigated Ekpa in the past for alleged financial crimes, including the collection of funds through questionable means.
Finland Authorities Arrest Simon Ekpa, 4 Others On Suspicion of Terror Activities The head of the investigation, crime commissioner Otto Hiltunen of the Central Criminal Police, stated, "The police suspect that the man has promoted his efforts from Finland with means that have led to violence against civilians and authorities as well as other crimes in the region of South-Eastern Nigeria. The man has carried out this activity, among other things, on his social media channels."
However, the remaining four suspects, accused of financing terrorism, are believed to have committed the crime in August 2022, also in Lahti.
These individuals, who are of foreign background, were born in the 1960s and 1970s.
Helsingin Sanomat (HS) reports that five suspects were arrested during the first week of the investigation, with police highlighting international cooperation during the preliminary phase.
It was previously reported that authorities suspect Simon Ekpa of being involved in the crime of collecting money unlawfully. In February 2023, Ekpa was arrested in a private apartment in Lahti.
Ekpa was later released the same evening after being questioned.
At the time, police also disclosed that they had received multiple reports about Ekpa's activities on social media. This prompted an investigation to determine whether he could be linked to other crimes.
Simon Ekpa is known in Finland as a local politician affiliated with the National Coalition Party.
He has served as a deputy councilor and represented the party on the Lahti region's public transport board.
Meanwhile, from his home in Lahti, he has used social media to call for election boycotts and support Biafra's independence efforts.
Ukraine's air force says Russia fired ICBM Ukraine fired Western weapons into Russia this week
Tensions rising in 33-month-old war KYIV, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Russia launched an intercontinental ballistic missile during an attack on Ukraine on Thursday, Kyiv's air force said, in the first known use in the war of a powerful weapon designed to deliver nuclear strikes thousands of kilometres away.
The launch was the latest sign of rapidly mounting tensions in the 33-month-old war after Ukraine fired U.S. and British missiles at targets inside Russia this week despite warnings by Moscow that it would see such action as a major escalation.
Security experts said that, if confirmed, it would be the first military use of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) - strategic weapons designed to deliver nuclear warheads and are an important part of Russia's nuclear deterrent. The Ukrainians did not specify what kind of warhead the missile had or what type of missile it was. There was no suggestion it was nuclear-armed.
Russia did not immediately comment on the Ukrainian air force statement. Asked by reporters about the air force statement, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters to contact the Russian military for comment.
Ukrainska Pravda, a Kyiv-based media outlet, cited anonymous sources saying the missile was an RS-26 Rubezh, a solid-fuelled intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of 5,800 km, according to the Arms Control Association.
The RS-26 was first successfully tested in 2012, and is estimated to be 12 metres (40 ft) long and weigh 36 tons, according to the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). It said the RS-26 can carry an 800-kg (1,765-pound)nuclear warhead.
In particular, an intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation," it said. Astrakhan is more than 700 km (435 miles) from the Ukrainian city of Dnipro. ' TOTALLY UNPRECEDENTED'
Defense Express, a Ukrainian defence consultancy, asked whether the United States, Kyiv's main international ally, had been informed about the missile launch ahead of time.
"It is also a question of whether the United States was warned about the launch and its direction, as the announcement of such launches is a prerequisite for preventing the triggering of a missile warning system and the launch of missiles in response," Defence Express wrote.
He's right, but the condemnation should go beyond Russia.
Israel's killing of innocent Palestinians is also shameful, he should summon the courage and condemn the senseless massacre in Gaza, stop all the killings and land grabbing from Benue to Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan
Pope Francis marked 1,000 days since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine Wednesday, calling it a “shameful disaster for humanity” at an audience attended by First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.
“Yesterday marked 1,000 days since the invasion of Ukraine. A tragic anniversary for the victims and the destruction it has caused,” the Argentine pope said at the end of his weekly general audience at the Vatican.
But at the same time, (it is) a shameful disaster for all humanity,” he added in front of the thousands of faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square, where Zelenska sat with the first ladies of Armenia, Lithuania and Serbia.
He expressed his closeness to the “martyred Ukrainian people” and called for efforts “so that weapons give way to dialogue”.
Francis then read a letter addressed to him by a Ukrainian student in which he describes the war and how people are suffering.
Russia launched its full-scale attack on Ukraine in February 2022 and since then, the pope has frequently called for an end to the conflict.
All I can say is that Obasanjo was right about everything he said.
The insults from the presidency is totally unacceptable, Under Obasanjo, Nigerians were buying cars and building houses everyday, but now Nigerians are selling everything they have just to feed, this government is the worst in the history of Nigeria.
INEC chairman should not be appointed by the president
This is not something we should celebrate, we're already the poverty capital of the world with our current population, I wonder what Nigeria will be by then with kind of leaders we keep producing
Experts, on Tuesday, said Nigeria’s population may surge to 450 million if urgent action is not taken to address the growing population.
The experts expressed their concerns at a media roundtable ahead of the eighth Nigeria Family Planning Conference organised by the Association for the Advancement of Family Planning in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, and other family planning stakeholders in Abuja.
In his opening remarks, the Chairman of the Management Committee, AAFP, and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the conference, Dr Ejike Oji, said Nigeria’s fertility rate is high and there is a need to reduce the rate to four per cent.
Ejike, who is also the Nigeria CSO Focal Point FP 2030 stated, “If we continue with the same fertility rate that we have now, our population is going to be driven to 450 million by 2050.
“If we do not bring down our fertility rates, by the year 2050, we will be 450 million, based on the percentage increase every year. Every year, we add about four million people to our population. So if you look at that, you know that it’s going to be a lot of problems for us.
“Remember that the increase is geometric. It’s not that it will stop at four million because there’s a percentage driving it. It’s four million this year; next year, it might be 4.2 million; the following year, it might be 4.5 million; it may get to a point where it might be five million or 10 million every year.
“If you look at the two major populations in the world, which everybody is pointing at, India and China. China is the second-largest economy in the world, followed by China. They were very poor countries 50 years ago. But they turned the tide by cutting down their fertility rates and then investing in their young population. Nigeria has that opportunity. If we miss it now, if we don’t bring our fertility rate down to four per cent, by the year 2030, we’re going to be in serious trouble.”
Ejike stated that the fertility rate has, however, reduced from 5.3 per cent to 4.8 per cent.
The expert said the forthcoming conference, themed “Sustaining commitments for family planning within the Nigeria Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative; advancing progress toward achieving FP2030 goals,” will reemphasise the importance of family planning.
Corroborating, the Managing Director of FP 2030 North, West, Central Africa Hub, Dr Martin Migombano, said Nigeria’s population may hit 450 million by 2050 because of the size of the country.
“Also, 28.5 per cent of maternal mortality in the world happens in Nigeria. So there is still a lot that needs to be done by our partners, religious leaders, the government, financial partners who are donors, and others.
“They are all coming to the conference to pledge again and make sure that whatever investments are being made is going to the grassroots, where women actually should access family planning.
“But the key one is how can a woman get access to family planning? How about commodities? How about the education of the population? So, we need all the partners. It’s a collaborative way of working. And again, after two years, we’ll come and assess whether we have made progress again or not, or we are still stagnating,” he said.
A consultant at Amref International, Mrs Ifesinachi Eze said disruptions in family planning and reproductive health services in humanitarian settings leave women with unmet family planning needs, as the disruptions strain the health systems and require collaborative solutions.
“To address these issues, USAID’s Propel Adapt project is developing a private sector engagement guide for FP/RH supply chains in humanitarian settings.
“This guide, created in collaboration with FP2030, supports countries in rapidly assessing private sector capacities, fostering public-private collaborations, and strengthening FP/RH supply chains during emergencies,” she noted.
Eze stated that collaboration is key to maximising impact in the health sector as no organisation can achieve sustainable development alone.
“Governments and the private sector need to work together to create the regulatory frameworks, financial incentives, and infrastructure that allow the health sector to thrive,” she added.

Hmm, almighty USA will deport people in this age and time, well he promised to do so during election campaign
Deporting massive numbers of immigrants does not solve any real problem except they and other MAGA true believers will have their hate vindicated. The immigrants including the descendants of immigrants have throughout history contributed in significant ways both to culture, life, and finances of countries all over the world, I don’t see any white man volunteering to pick potatoes, vegetables etc on the streets of USA, This is absolutely not going to benefit the economy or make America great again.
President-elect Donald Trump on Monday confirmed he would declare a national emergency to carry out his campaign promise of mass deportations of migrants living in the U.S. without legal permission.
Overnight, Trump responded to a social media post from Judicial Watch’s Tom Fitton, who said earlier this month there are reports the incoming administration is preparing such a declaration and to use "military assets" to deport the migrants.
“TRUE!!!” Trump wrote.
Trump pledged to get started on mass deportations as soon as he enters office.
"On Day 1, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to get the criminals out," he said during a rally at Madison Square Garden in the closing days of the presidential race. "I will rescue every city and town that has been invaded and conquered, and we will put these vicious and bloodthirsty criminals in jail, then kick them the hell out of our country as fast as possible."
Already, he’s tapped several immigration hard-liners to serve in key Cabinet positions. South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem was picked to be homeland security secretary, pending Senate confirmation. Former Acting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan was named “border czar.”
Homan previously discussed his vision for mass deportations, saying they would first concentrate on expelling criminals and national security threats. He didn’t rule out deporting families together.
Throughout the campaign, Trump vowed to mobilize the National Guard to assist with the deportation effort. Experts told ABC News such a move would mark a fundamental shift for the military, which does not normally engage with domestic law enforcement issues.
At times, Trump went further, suggesting thousands of troops from overseas be moved to the U.S.-Mexico border
There are an estimated 11 million unauthorized migrants living in the U.S. without legal immigration status. Removing them could cost billions of dollars per year, according to estimates from the American Immigration Council
Plus, mass deportations could have a broader economic impact by resulting in a loss of tax revenue and labor shortages.
ABC News Chief Global Affairs Correspondent Martha Raddatz recently reported from California on the impact Trump’s immigration and mass deportations plans could have on the American agriculture industry.
"If you took away my workforce, you wouldn't eat. If you go into the San Joaquin Valley and you start doing what you're saying, it's over. The country will stop, literally stop because the food system won't move," said Manuel Cunha Jr., the president of the Nisei Farmers League.
I have to know your age before arguing with u cos it doesn't make sense arguing with someone who was still in heaven or probably a toddler when obj was ruling
Enjoy your day
The only set of people praising obj today are Igbos n it's simply because he supported obi n he's against their worst enemy tinubu
You're not even worth replying, enjoy the disaster you have as president, and for your info, I'm not Igbo okay, take your tribalism to somewhere else
Obasanjo is the best president as far as Nigeria is concerned despite his shortcomings, you can't compare the time of Obasanjo with what we are going through under Apc.
Under Obasanjo, Nigerians were buying cars and building houses everyday, but now Nigerians are selling their cars and houses just to feed.
