Former United States President Donald Trump has said, if re-elected, he would automatically grant green cards to foreign graduates of US colleges.

This marks an unexpected shift from the Republican known for his tough stance on immigration.

During a podcast interview with Silicon Valley tech investors on Thursday, Trump promised to simplify the process of bringing talent to the US, Al Jazeera reports

He also stated that anyone graduating from a US college should be allowed to stay in the country.

While speaking on the All-In Podcast, hosted by Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis, David Sacks, and David Friedberg, Trump said, “It’s so sad when we lose people from Harvard, MIT, the greatest schools, and lesser schools that are phenomenal schools also.

“I think you should get, automatically, as part of your diploma, a green card to be able to stay in this country and that includes junior colleges, too.”

A green card grants individuals the privilege of permanent residence and employment in the United States, with a potential route to citizenship.

Trump's plan, which could lead to a significant increase of hundreds of thousands of citizenship applications annually, represents a notable shift away from his previously strict stance on immigration that defined his political ascent in the Republican Party.

Trump, who has previously made inflammatory remarks about migrants, has vowed to carry out the largest mass deportation of undocumented immigrants in US history if he wins the November election.

He has consistently criticized President Joe Biden, his Democratic opponent, for being lenient on immigration.

At a campaign rally in Wisconsin on Tuesday, Trump lambasted a new program introduced by Biden, which enables undocumented spouses of US citizens to apply for permanent residency without having to depart the country.

Trump said, “Our country is under invasion. We should not be talking amnesty, we should be talking about stopping the invasion instead.”

Approximately 11 million undocumented immigrants are residing in the United States without legal status, according to estimates provided by the Department of Homeland Security.

An irate mob has killed a young man identified simply as Yunusa over allegations of blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The incident happened on Wednesday in Nasaru village, Ningi local government area of Bauchi State.

It was reported that the blasphemous remarks were made during a heated argument with his friends.

The argument attracted the attention of bystanders.

“The victim was a member of the Faira Islamic Sect, he was heard to have spoken words of insult to the Prophet.

“Some young men challenged Yunusa to withdraw his statement, but he insisted he would not. He even repeated it. That was when they started beating him,” the witness stated.

It was reported that police personnel were overwhelmed in an attempt to rescue Yunusa.

The irate mob deployed stones, sticks, and other objects to fatally assault him.

Further reports suggest that the mob tried to set fire to the police station in the village when officers attempted to protect him there.

The police have yet to react to the development as of the time of this report.

The singer, 42, is on this week's finale episode of Your Mama’s Kitchen: Conversations from the Heart of the Home podcast this week to talk about her family life. When asked about siblings, Hudson had a surprising story to tell.


“Your father had a big personality,” host Michele Norris said. “And you went with your siblings and went and found him at some point and found that you had a lot more siblings?”

“Yes, a lot of us. Apparently he had 27 children,” Hudson shared.

A shocked Norris noted “that’s a lot of children,” before the EGOT winner went on to explain that she never met them all, but "that's what we were always told." She said that when she found out about them at 16, she wanted to look deeper into her family.

“It was my dream to have all of us at this grand Thanksgiving or Christmas table, and we all sit and eat together — that was my goal at 16,” she explained.

The talk show host explained that she ended up meeting six or seven of them along with the siblings she grew up with, Jason and Julia.


“We found quite a few of us,” she said, adding, “And I'm the youngest of all of them.”

As for them finding out about her, Hudson said it was her father’s side of the family that helped unite the siblings she ended up meeting.

“When my grandma on his side passed, my siblings over there were like, ‘Y’all got a sister that can really sing, you should meet her,’” she revealed. “And eventually we all came together.”

Hudson is the mother to a son, 14-year-old David Daniel Otunga Jr. who she shares with ex David Otunga. Last year, she brought him to the White House for Juneteenth and later opened up about the importance of raising a young Black man in her cover story for Real Simple.

"I want my son to be a part of those things—and his cousins and friends,” she said. “Little David has a really big heart, and he always wants to include them. So I said, 'I’ll sing, but I have to bring my boys.’”

"And I told the guys, 'When you all get old and you have children, you’re going to say, ‘I was there for the first Juneteenth.' And to be able to sing for it—that’s something I will never forget."

On the podcast, Hudson spoke about wanting her son to grow up around family, explaining, "I love to try to make sure he has the closest thing to him... just making sure he has his cousins circle and that base and foundation. That's part of why I had moved back to Chicago, because I wanted him to have the surroundings of his family around him growing up."

"Now we're here in L.A. and so we make a point to like, have our Sunday dinners. That's one thing that's very important," she continued. "And then he has cousins that come in and out. One of them is here right now. And so to keep that family burning... So he has that same upbringing or going to see the loved ones I talked to."


"We have a huge family. People like the fact that y'all are this close and your family is this big. Like, all of us are still very connected," she added.

Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and North Korean president, Kim Jong Un, have finalised a strategic partnership, committing to mutual aid in case of attack during a summit in Pyongyang on Wednesday.

This marks Putin's first visit to North Korea in 24 years, coinciding with heightened tensions with the West.

The summit highlighted concerns over an arms agreement where North Korea supplies crucial munitions to Moscow for its Ukrainian conflict, in exchange for economic aid and technological transfers that could bolster Kim’s nuclear capabilities.

Associated Press (AP) reports that the exact nature of this "comprehensive strategic partnership" remains unspecified, encompassing cooperation across politics, economy, culture, and military domains, according to statements following the signing ceremony.

Putin underscored discussions focusing extensively on security and global affairs with Kim, with Russian state media hinting at potential military-technical collaboration under the new agreement.

Kim described the pact as defensive and peaceful, envisioning it as a catalyst for a more balanced global order, reinforcing their alliance in various sectors.

In addition to military aspects, Russia and North Korea signed agreements covering healthcare, medical education, and scientific collaboration, as reported by Russian state media citing the Kremlin’s website.

Upon his nocturnal arrival, Putin received a warm welcome from Kim, with both leaders participating in an elaborate ceremony at Pyongyang’s main square amidst cheering crowds and festive decorations.

During talks, Putin expressed gratitude for North Korea’s support in the Ukraine conflict, framing it as a joint stance against US-led hegemonic policies impacting Russia.
