Religion / Re: Exposing Bible Corruption by godfirstawe: 3:04am On Feb 06, 2016
hockeyoilers:
Who were the authors of the Bible? Were they really the original Prophets and Desciples?

So, who then are the authors of the books of the Bible? Obviously the Church must know them very well since they are popularly believed to have received divine inspiration from God Himself. Right? Actually, they don't. For example, we will note that every Gospel begins with the introduction "According to....." such as "The Gospel according to Saint Matthew," "The Gospel according to Saint Luke," "The Gospel according to Saint Mark," "The Gospel according to Saint John." The obvious conclusion for the average man on the street is that these people are known to be the authors of the books attributed to them. This, however is not the case. Why? Because not one of the vaunted four thousand copies existent carries its author's signature. It has just been assumed that certain people were the authors. Recent discoveries, however, refute this belief. Even the internal evidence suggests that, for instance, Matthew did not write the Gospel attributed to him:

"...And as Jesus passed forth thence, HE (Jesus) saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and HE (Jesus) saith unto HIM (Matthew), follow ME (Jesus) and HE (Matthew) arose, and followed HIM (Jesus). (Matthew 9:9)"

Did "Matthew" write this about himself? Why then didn't Matthew write for example: "he (Jesus) saw ME, and my name is Matthew. I was sitting at the receipt of custom…" etc.

Such evidence can be found in many places throughout the New Testament. Granted, it may be possible that an author sometimes may write in the third person, still, in light of the rest of the evidence that we shall see throughout this book, there is simply too much evidence against this hypothesis.

This observation is by no means limited to the New Testament. There is even similar evidence that at least parts of Deuteronomy were not written by their claimed author, prophet Moses . This can be seen in Deuteronomy 34:5-10 where we read

"So Moses....DIED... and he (God Almighty) BURIED HIM (Moses)... He was 120 years old WHEN HE DIED... and there arose not a prophet SINCE in Israel like unto Moses....(Deuteronomy 34:5-10)"

Did Moses write his own obituary? Similarly, Joshua too speaks in detail about his own death in Joshua 24:29-33.

"And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, DIED, … And they BURIED HIM … And Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the Lord, that he had done for Israel ….(Joshua 24:29-33)"

Such evidence is part of the large cache which has driven the Biblical scholars to come to the current recognition that most of the books of the Bible were not written by their supposed authors. For example, the authors of the Revised Standard Version of the Bible by Collins honestly say that the author of "Kings" is "Unknown." But if the author is unknown then why attribute it to God? How can it then be claimed to have been "inspired"? Continuing, we read that the book of Isaiah is "Mainly credited to Isaiah. Parts may have been written by others." Ecclesiastics: "Author. Doubtful, but commonly assigned to Solomon." Ruth: "Author. Not definitely known, perhaps Samuel." and on and on.

Before I start talking....

Politics / Re: Unemployment: NASS Members Are Part Of The Problem by godfirstawe: 8:42am On Jan 30, 2016
TonyeBarcanista:
Do members of the National Assembly still believe that Nigerians are fools? Even if they think we are, must they insult us by rubbing it on us?

On Wednesday, Nov 4, 2015, I was watching the Senate's planery when the issue of the rising rate of unemployment was raised by Senator Bassey Akpan with a motion “to curb the soaring rate of unemployment in Nigeria.” Was the motion meant to impress Nigerians or to deceive us? Are they really sincere?

NASS Members Also Part of The Problem
The Senators and their House of Representatives counterpart are part of the problem facing this country. They are a contributing force to our unemployment challenge. How else can one justify the fact that these people allocates N10billion and N120billion just to run themselves monthly and annually respectively? This sum is not only ridiculous but insulting when you even consider that the people that makes up the National Assembly are just 469 legislators and few Civil servants of the Nationaly Assembly Civil Service Commission that are not more than the population civil servants in two local government in Lagos state. More painful is the fact that the civil servants despite their little population are paid 'peanuts' compared to the Senators and Representatives.

They Earn More Than States Though They Have No Responsibility
This is the National Assembly that has very few members and ZERO capital project to execute but receives more allocation than states that has lots of responsibilities to attend to. For instance, Lagos with so much responsibility get approximately N7billion monthly, Kano get N4.8billion, Kogi N3.1billion, Ekiti N2billion. In fact, the NASS is even competing with Rivers state, an oil producing state that earns about N10billion monthly and Akwa Ibom that earns N11 billion monthly. These states have to share their allocations with their LGAs, pensioners, and all the civil and public servants in the state. These states still have additional responsibility of executing capital projects. Why then should we clap for the NASS? Funny enough, the NASS get more money than all oil producing states except Akwa Ibom and Rivers that they compete with.

If They Are Really Sincere...
Sincerely, if the National Assembly members are truly concerned with the rising spate of unemployment, they would simply cut down their immoral N10 billion monthly earning by 50% and establish empowerment fund where they'll channel 50% of what they currently earn I.e N5billion/month. These funds will be executed in ways that will create jobs, promote job creation in the society, and will be supervised by the NASS. This is a means to show their sincerity, not the mockery of a rhetoric motion that is aimed at mocking Nigeria youths and scoring cheap political points that they aim to use to exploit the masses in the next election.

Let me also remind us that this is not the first time motions like this will be moved in both chambers of the National Assembly. This National Assembly members have deliberately refused to cut their unholy allocation to create room for more funds for Nigerians despite several cries by members of the public. Even people like Ben Bruce that made lot of noise on twitter before his inauguration as Senator has gone mute over the subject.

APC and Buhari Are Not Living To Expectation
During the electioneering period, the APC promised annual 3million jobs and monthly 250,000 jobs. Five months into the administration, not a SINGLE job has been created. Instead we keep hearing more job loss.

As a Nigerian, I am very much disturbed with this rising spate of unemployment which has become a menace in the society. I that believe this issue is one that need holistic attention and not one to play politics with. Despite being in opposition, it is my prayer that the incumbent government get it right in order to move Nigeria forward. As for the Senators, they should look for some other things to pre-occupy themselves if they are bored instead of promoting motions to deceive gullible Nigerians into believing that they are working when they are not.

May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria

Can you send this to some newspapers editorial and email it to sunrise daily on channels tv?

When baba Obasanjo wrote letter to Mr. Jonathan..They called him old fool..now everybody can see what the old man saw then.

Now it is happening again, he wrote to the NASS...people have started attacking him.

There is a movement in nigeria and we must get there !!! enough is enough of corruption, poverty, self centeredness. .

Let them commission Amakpe Refinery first. Building a refinery is not a joke, considering the financial, engineering, procurement and construction challenges you have to overcome. Reasons why Amakpe refinery is yet to be completed after over 10 years. How can you build and commission 50,000 barrel per day, when you're still struggling with 6,000 barrels per day.

I pray these projects get completed in the interest of Nigerians.

Really ?

Thanks for this informat ion.

I was about to say hurray, our governor is working til I read your post about amakpe. So there is one pending under construction for 10 years.

Politics / Change Is Here. .. by godfirstawe: 12:22am On Jan 27, 2016
Change is when a Friday goes by and no one is dying in the mosques due to Bomb blast
Change is when Sunday goes by and no one hears of another bombblast in a church killing worshippers.
Change is when boko haram suicide bombers are intercepted before they kill innocent people.
Change is when prominent looters fall sick after years of eating our yams and bleat like demented goats for forgiveness.
Change is when untouchables come to court in handcuffs like the criminals they are.
Change is when corrupt people swallow money or chew their confessional statements in panic to escape the long arm of the law.
Change is when judges stop giving stupid interlocutory injunction to stop corrupt beings from being investigated like they did in the case of a former minister who spent all our money on private jet charter.
Change is when mansions built with stolen money are sealed up and confisicated as against in the days when no questions were asked.
And this is just the beginning. More change is on the horizon. Oil prices maybe down. Many may frown at the exchange rate but alas there is hope for Nigeria. For finally Boko Haram cant kill like before and stealing is finally corruption. This is the foundation from which a new Nigeria shall arise from burnt ashes like the phoenix, NIGERIA SHALL BE GREAT AGAIN FOR CHANGE HAS COME!......Dr. Essein Attah
