First of all I'm yoruba, and I love the ibo tribe,I love their women and their culture, particularly their dance,so fucking energetic...and ibos are generally courageous.

Well when I say ibo,I always include dem delta and South South people anyways, most of us here see you guys as ibo people,I believe one day you will settle your historical quarrel grin

This is a honest outpour and is likely going to be a long post.

If I must choose to live with a tribe in Nigeria,I will definitely choose the ibo people over and over again, for one thing, their is something about the southerners DNA that make them highly intelligent, look at paystack, flutterwave, kuda, all those fintech companies, its either the founder(s) are yoruba or ibo,and if you want to talk about educational achievements in Nigeria ,it's mostly championed by southerners.

Well these intelligence do come with their downsides, which is the purpose of this thread: Internet Fraud/scams, 419 mentality.

Until now I have always argued that yoruba youths have the largest number in the Internet scam industry(yahoo).Well, I didn't know I was in for a shocker. I will use three scenarios to explain my discovery.

(1st scenario) Immediately binance launched in Nigeria,i hopped on it as early as possible,in no time I got verified and I was given a merchant verified tag after I deposited some bnb of course.
On binance P2P when you jam scammers, you have the option of appealing and submitting evidence that you have made payment(when the scammer don't want to release your crypto after making payment) or submit evidence that you haven't received payment(if the scammer claimed that he/she has made payment but you know he/she is probably lieing)

Do you know since 2020 till now,all the hardened scammers that I have really dragged appeals with have been ibos.

Infact if I make payment for an order and the seller refused to release my crypto, once I check the name and it is hausa name,I will not even be bothered.

If a yoruba name didn't release my crypto within three hours,I will simply take my pen and carve out big Big curses I will lay on him when I call him.

But mehn if a ibo name fails to release your crypto within two hours grin
Just know it is binance that will release your crypto for you after submitting numerous evidences.

(2. Scenario) was recently chatting with a friend in dubai about the recent Nigerian visa ban.i was just vexing generally that Nigerians spoil things everywhere they go blah blah, that we need to do better.
The guy reply was "na the ibo"

(3. Scenario) this one was the main shocker for me,I was giving a job to scrap some data from some popular ghanaian websites, while studying the source code for some of the websites I saw one headline that interested me, it had something to do with "Nigerians to protest against the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu in ghana" being a low key Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho supporter I clicked on the link, omo when I got to the comment section, all I could see is these "ibo people should leave our country" "this people can commit any crime for money"

Mehn that was when I gave up.o
I personally know both yoruba youths and ibo youths are leaders when it comes to Internet fraud, buh mehn make these ibo guys they apply sense small small na, it doesn't make sense if everyone is complaining about your tribe both home and abroad mehn.
You guys should fix up.

And to una fraudsters, politicians are Nigeria's biggest enemy, after we solve their matter, fraudsters are next.

See ya later angry
The biggest fraudsters are the Fulani cabal who siphon trillions of naira into offshore accounts, and the Northern military elite who steal millions of dollars meant for the military to build houses and Dubai and marry more wives. Igbos are learners when it comes to Northern fraud and scamming .

Meanwhile, in the UK, Yorubas are no 1 in fraud and scamming - facts. I can provide evidence.

Dubai is Yorubas and Edo. E.g Hush Puppy etc.

Igbo criminals operate in the US, India, Malaysia etc.

Reading from the the statement they've asked for nothing the British government isn't already providing. Right from the onset the British have said they will offer consular service, nothing more.

IMO the family is better served hiring Nigerian attorneys because they understand the murky terrain of our opaque legal system.

Why do you think Pfizer hired the VP's firm to represent them during the botched Meningitis drug test litigation in Kano, had they brought in US law firms that story would have been an attack launch pad by their competitors in this covid vaccine war
The case involves three states ( UK , Kenya and Nigeria ).

The British lawyers are representing the case of extraordinary rendition and breach of international law as well as his rights as a British citizen.

MNK's has lawyers representing his case in Nigeria. Recently a number of lawyers with SAN status have volunteered their legal services ( free of charge ) to the MNK legal team. The main lawyers in Nigeria are ;

The mistake you folks in Ipob keep making is that no country survives two civil war. I pity una, I swear. The Igbo will be very unwise to allow Ipob terrorists to drag them into an unprepared war like Ojukwu did in 1967-70. The last war lasted for 3 years because Ndigbo dominated the officer Corp of the Nigerian army then, so they had officers that trained people and got them ready for war. Back then, a lot of SS Igbo identified as Igbo, so joined the Igbo of SE to form an army,,,,as in the case of colonel Joe Achuzie, who is from Asaba. Many igboid from present River states also were part of the Biafran army. Today we’ve lost these brothers as they now deny their Igbo identity and these are the things most of you in Ipob are not taking into consideration.
I am not IPOB FYI.

But I am yet to see evidence of IPOB asking for war. Further, you underestimate the support for secession by various groups who have been marginalised. They may not necessarily join Biafra, but they may use the opportunity to seek for their own autonomy. So, to make it clear, just because other groups do not join Biafra, it does not mean they will join Nigeria, most hate Nigeria (not Nigerians )

Also, the Nigerian army of 1967 is not what you will be facing in the 21st century as the army has become more modernized and upgraded from what they were from just 7yrs after independence.
The Nigerian army is even worse than it was in 1967, for one they cannot defeat rag tag terrorist groups for over 15 years and now they are struggling against ordinary bandits who carry AK47. This has more to do with their poor training, lack of commitment to Nigeria and corruption in the forces. America is a world superpower with equipment that Nigerian can only day dream of and yet they struggled immensely against small countries including in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea etc.

You don’t take the words of a deranged lunatic and tactless leader like nnamdi cownu as gospel for he lacks basic military training, heck he and most of his Ipob followers have never witnessed a violent riots, let alone war
I perceive a threat in your statement “most of his Ipob followers have never witnessed a violent riot, let alone war “. Are you promising Igbos in Northern Nigeria violent riots and mass death? Of course, we know this is your speciality anyway – always embarking on murderous rampages when anyone speaks against your religion?

MNK who I do not agree with, may lack military training but he has employed disgruntled military members to train his ESN, which is why they sent the marauding murderous Fulani herdsman out of Igbo land.

More please, I am enjoying this discourse. cool

One thing that has been established so far by Ipob themselves is that they are a terrorist organization. Any organization that threatens and carries out death on anyone who disagrees with their views is a terrorist organization and have no right to exist amongst civilized folks.
Within the specific context of your statement, kindly provide evidence to prove that they kill those who disagree with them. In my personal view based on their statements, most of the threats (almost none carried out or maybe below 0.0001%) have been against those exposing their members to the security forces to be slaughtered. I have never heard a threat issued over disagreements that have to do with direct violence.

An organization that labels somebody a saboteur, without due investigation or allowing that person to defend himself is not worthy to exist.
How do you know that they did not carry out due investigation? Though we both agree that this sort of behaviour is a taboo in Igbo land.

Nigeria, as bad as it’s, does kill anybody who doesn’t believe in Nigeria
grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

If Buhari was that bad, nnamdi cownu would have been beheaded by now, going by what the hunchback terrorist said about Buhari. nnamdi cownu called Buhari a pedophile, a terrorist and said he was going to Abuja to get Buhari’s head. If we go by Ipob’s doctrines, then nnamdi cownu is a saboteur against Nigeria and should be beheaded. So be careful what you say. There’s an adage which says, chew your words very well and get the true taste of it, before spitting them out.
Well Buhari had planned to kill him, but he escaped. And he is still planning to kill him.

Ipob is an existential threat to Igboland and have dragged Igbo back a 100 years politically
Nigeria is living in the era 10,000 BC due to the antics, actions and behaviour of Northern Nigeria over the past 60 years. This is just my view, don't take it personal.

Just like in 67-70 pogrom
Hmm, I dont think many want war, but if it does come ( god forbid ), remember ;

1. It took the might of the West to defeat Biafra over a prolonged 3 years compared to the 2 weeks Gowon had promised
2. Most Biafrans died due to starvation supported by the British
3. The Nigerian army lost close to 50,000 soldiers. Ask Buhari, he will confirm.
4. This time around people are wiser and you should not expect 100% unity from the middle belt or south west. It may end up as a direct war between the east and Fulani. Hmm. Be careful what you wish for.
5. In 1967 the number of Igbos is diaspora was less than 0.1%, today it is up to 20% with a combined wealth running into billions of dollars. You know what money can do , right ?

Anyway, me personally, I don't support war - but we all know that NO NATION has survived two civil wars.

PoliticsChina Reluctant To Lend More Money To Nigeria, Believes Country Over-exposed by GodHatesBigots(op): 7:10pm On Jul 16, 2021
Nigeria is seeking $1 billion so work can continue on a gas pipeline costing up to $2.8 billion after Chinese lenders failed to disburse cash as quickly as expected.

China developed cold feet after they pledged to offer most of the funds.

It is the latest sign of falling Chinese financial support for infrastructure projects across Africa, after years of major Chinese lending for railway, energy and other projects.

A spokesman for state oil company NNPC, which is building the 614-km (384-mile) Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) pipeline, said it was still negotiating with the Chinese lenders – Bank of China and Sinosure – to cover $1.8 billion of the project cost.

There’s no cause for alarm,” the spokesman said, without saying whether NNPC was turning to other lenders.

But the three sources told Reuters the company was now approaching others, including export-import institutions, to continue work on the pipeline that will run through the middle of the West African country to its northern economic hub Kano.

Chinese lenders had originally been lined up to fund the bulk of the estimated $2.5 billion to $2.8 billion cost of the project, which is central to President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan to develop gas resources and boost development in northern Nigeria.

NNPC, which was funding 15%, said last year it had used its own funds to start construction.

The sources said the Chinese lenders would not agree to disburse the cash NNPC had expected by the end of the summer, prompting it to turn to others.

“They are looking at Nigeria as one loan, and right now, they feel they are too exposed,” one source said.

The sources said the Chinese lenders would not agree to disburse the cash NNPC had expected by the end of the summer, prompting it to turn to others. “They are looking at Nigeria as one loan, and right now, they feel they are too exposed,” one source said.

Bank of China said it would not comment on specific deals. Sinosure did not respond to a request for comment.

The Nigerian ministries of transport, finance and petroleum also did not reply to requests for comment.

Chinese bank lending to African infrastructure projects has fallen across the continent, from $11 billion in 2017 to $3.3 billion in 2020, a Baker McKenzie report said in April.

With the continent facing an estimated annual $100 billion infrastructure investment deficit, the loss of Chinese funding leaves a big gap to fill.

Nigeria began building the AKK pipeline in June 2020, saying it would help generate 3.6 gigawatts of power and support gas-based industries along the route.

The project was to be funded under a debt-equity financing model, backed by sovereign guarantee and repaid through the pipeline transmission tariff.

NNPC awarded engineering and construction work along three sections of the pipeline to Oando, OilServe, China First Highway Engineering Company, Brentex Petroleum Services and China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau.

Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi said this month Nigeria was negotiating a mix of loans from Chinese and European lenders to fund railway projects, after media reports.

This was after reports Nigeria had initially planned to rely primarily on Chinese banks.

As at March 2021, Nigeria had borrowed $3.7 billion from China, out of which it had paid back about $500million, leaving a balance of $3.2 billion.

It is not only the AKK gas project that China has developed cold legs in funding.

It is also holding its funds from going to Nigerian ICT Infrastructure Backbone project phase 2.

The project in 2018 was to cost $2.3 billion, with China fully funding it.(See Table)

Status of China Loans as at December 31, 2020

But till now, no dime has been disbursed, three years after.

China loans only make up 10 percent of Nigeria’s total indebtedness estimated at $32billion by the Debt Management Agency.

The World Bank, IMF and development banks account for 54.7 per cent of the debt. Bilateral loans, including from China are about 12.4 percent.

Euro and Diaspora bonds are about 24 percent.(See Table)Nigeria’s External Debt Stock as at March 31, 2021 (2 )

PoliticsThe United Kingdom's Legal Position Of Extraordinary Rendition by GodHatesBigots(op): 2:35pm On Jul 16, 2021
The government supports the rule of law and opposes any form of deprivation of liberty that amounts to placing a detained person outside the protection of the law, including so-called extraordinary rendition. The government’s policy on rendition was set out by former Foreign and Commonwealth OfficeParliamentary Under Secretary of State Tobias Ellwood during an adjournment debate on the UK’s involvement in rendition in June 2016.

The UK remains fundamentally opposed to rendition and as such we do not use rendition-it is not part of our security apparatus and nor do we support, enable or endorse its use by other states. Since 2010, UK intelligence and security personnel have operated under the published Consolidated Guidance and, since January 2020, its replacement, The Principles. The Principles provide direction for UK personnel and governs their interaction with detainees held by others overseas and the handling of intelligence derived from them and is overseen by the Investigatory Powers Commissioner.

The Principles expressly reaffirm UK policy on rendition and extraordinary rendition. The UK government investigates allegations against UK personnel and bring complaints to the attention of detaining authorities in other countries, except where to do so might itself lead to unacceptable treatment. The UK does not approve nor permit the use of its territory or UK facilities by another state under any circumstances for the purposes of transfers or detention that are not in compliance with international law. Any request for the transit of foreign flights through the UK or overseas territories is considered on a case-by-case basis and are granted only when the purpose of the transit complies with international law. In the unlikely event that a foreign flight were to land or to pass through the UK airspace unexpectedly for the purposes of transferring a detainee, the government would consider the case on its merits and respond appropriately, in accordance with our policy and obligations under domestic and international law.

This position has been made absolutely clear, both publicly and bilaterally to our overseas partners. There were two previously declared incidents in 2002, where British Territory had been used for this purpose. The transition of two detainees through Diego Garcia was reported to Parliament by the then Foreign Secretary in February 2008. The UK has since made major improvements to our processes, including, where appropriate, seeking assurances from relevant states about the use of UK territory or airspace for the transfer of detainees. All incoming flight requests through the Diplomatic Flights Clearanceprocess and subsequent decisions are registered electronically on the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office’s(FCDO)records management system and are fully searchable by the FCDO.

More generally, all FCDO Departments and Posts are accountable for their record keeping through the Annual Consolidated Certificate of Assurance. This is scrutinised by the Audit and Risk Assurance Committee that reports to the FCDO Management Board. Since those events in 2002,the UK isnot aware of any other instances ofother countries holding or moving any detainees through the territorial land, air or seas of the UK or our overseas territories.

Rossinkipp:
I just a read a highly revealing scholarly article on the causes of the herdsmen crisis in Nigeria.

The main reason given of course was climate change causing accelerated desertification of the Sahara, and forcing herdsmen ever southwards for greener pastures to graze their cattle.

The 2ND reason given was the heightened migration of 'southern Nigerians' up to the north, causing pressure on land resources and land availability, and forcing herdsmen to migrate southwards.

These ''southern Nigerians'' buy up hectares of land and build houses and estates aplenty, plus numerous business premises, factories etc.

Now of course we know who these ''southern Nigerians'' are, even if the author was far too polite to mention their ethnicity outright.

Perhaps it's time to implore those ''southern Nigerians'' to head back home and free up the land for its original inhabitants, to help ease the herdsman crisis?

PoliticsThings That I Like About The Hausas Of Northern Nigeria by GodHatesBigots(op): 12:08pm On Jul 16, 2021
There are many things I hate about the way Northerners behave but there are other things I think we can emulate. Make no mistake about it, I will never want to be anything else other than Igbo in this life and the next and beyound.

So here are the things I like about Hausa.

1. Burial - no fanfare, extravagance, showing off and unecessary protocol. You die today, and you are buried tomorrow. Closure is immediate. This is the way Igbos used to bury our dead before colonialism arrived. Reserve your money for the living.

2. Marriage - Again, for the elite there are extravagant marriages but for most, it is a simple affair with both families in agreement, a few traditional rites and that's it. No 10 pages for traditional marriage list and no huge dowry. Simple.

3. Marrying early - This one is controversial and I do not subscribe to marriages to girls below 17 years of age. That being said, marrying early is a good thing and it prevents premarital sex and other promiscious attitudes and acts. In the South we are always ranting about career , career and by the time the girl is 26 ready for marriage she has been through multitudes of men. Not good folks.

4. More than one wife - Again this one is each man according to his pocket. Igbos married up to 4 wives and even 5 wives in the times of yore and each man married according to his strength and wealth. We can argue that it was because of a need for many children to help with farm work but I disagree. Having many children in those days was see as a sign of wealth. I personally believe in one wife and I have one wife but if you can marry more, why not ?? Is it not better to marry more than one wife than having side chicks in all the major cities ? Just see how many single women we have in the South in their late 20s and 30s with no husband. Marry more than one wife if it is legal and you can afford it.

5. Simplicity - An average Hausa man is not worried about accumulating the whole world to tell his village that he has arrived. Rather, he lives a simple humble life. The communities are usually closely knit and they work together for the common good.

6. Unity - Hausas may have huge problems with terrorism and other nefarious crimes, but they are united - they stand together to protect their own. They will never throw their own under the bus to appease the enemy. The will deal with their own in private.

7. If a Hausa man likes you, he will even give you half of his wealth if possible. They are kind to a fault.

8. Honesty - I find the average Hausa man to be honest., well more honest than the average southerner.
