Hi guys,
please what’s the best site to buy electronics in canada apart from best buy and Amazon.

Please help

Hello,
It depends on what you are in need of and maybe your location. You can ideally check (in no particular order) - Walmart,Superstore, Costco, Visions Electronic, Staples, Home Depot, the Source, Samsung Experience Stores to mention but a few and also local stores around you.

Hello all, pls is it advisable for a newcomer to request for 2 credit cards from 2 different banks but at the same time? Any negative consequences?

Apart from the ding on your credit score from the inquiry that would be made when you apply for the card, there's really no negative consequences if you are approved and also if you utilize the cards properly as it helps you build your credit history.

If I may advise, Instead of taking a second credit card from the bank, why not consider one from either Walmart or PC financial (Superstore) or even Costco (Capital One) that way, you can either earn points or cash back as the case may be while you shop with the said card. They are usually easy to get and the limits are not high and can be easily managed.

I got laid off from my job today in Winnipeg for not performing COVID screening check before entering work. It’s been a hard one gathering myself together as I’ve put all my hope in it.

Please can someone help me with referral for a job in an organization. I am available for available job roles. From casual jobs to co-operate to healthcare.

I’ve got my checks and first aid/CPR. I am available to work remotely too.

Hello,
I can't say I know how you feel but then, chin up.
If you are on Telegram, kindly send a PM so I can add you to a group I belong to for purposes of finding a job.

All the best as you figure out your next steps

It's been almost two years in this country of ours and the truth is everyone can't be a Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer or a Software developer to make it here in Canada. What works for A would not work for B. This country is a land of opportunities and you just have to harness it.

I am from a regulated profession (Primus Interpares) but it will take me some years to get back into that field and if I eventually decide to go back, question is will I find fulfillment in it?

Most of us due to one thing or the other studied courses back home and at the end found ourselves not even working in our field of study(ies) all to make ends meet. So what is wrong in doing that here as far as it's legal, puts food on the table and takes care of basic necessities plus change left for a rainy day

Like has been said before by others, if you put in the effort and work hard, you will reap the fruit of your labour all things being equal.

I work "survival job" full time and hustle instacart when I am free . I am not where I want to be but I am striving to get there and while it may take a while, we only pray for God's grace which is more than sufficient as well as his guidance and we shall surmount all hurdles.

Edit: As a form of encouragement and not trying to brag, attached is a screenshot(removed)of my most recent pay slip and amount made so far as well as my instacart earnings (some people doing "office work" didn't make that sum), yet we de do "survival job" abi na any work.

All my years in Nigeria, wearing shirt and tie how much I get/make?

If you like, belittle the work of my hands, that one nor concern me. There is dignity in the work of thy hands, be it flipping burgers, manual labor, construction, trade or what not as far as you are not a burden to anyone or the system.

May God bless our hustle....Amen

Hi everyone. Hope you all are safe. Please question for lawyers in the house. In order to practice in canada do you need to go to law school or would Nigerian law school suffice and do you need to write any licencing exam. Please whats the process, thank you in advance.

As with all regulated professions, you would need to be licensed before you can practice in Canada. The body in charge for Lawyers is the FLSC which stands for the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. The FLSC has a committee which is the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) aimed at assessing the legal education and professional experience of individuals who obtained their credentials from outside Canada. Once the assessment is done you may be asked to write one or more exams (most are asked to take the five core Canadian law courses) and/or attend and complete specific law school courses within a specific time frame usually five years.

Upon completion, you are issued a certificate of qualification with which you can then apply to the Law Society of the province you reside in or choose to practice in and meet their own requirements before you can then be called to bar and practice thereafter.

The process is

1)Submit an application on the NCA website and pay the application fees of $350CDN.
2)Arrange for your transcripts from your university and law school to be sent directly to them
3)Submit an updated CV/Resume detailing your education and experience
4) Arrange for a letter of Good standing from either the Supreme court or the NBA to be sent to them stating the date you were called as well as your status as a lawyer in good standing.

After all documents are received, you would wait for the assessment report and based on the assessment you register for the exams which are taken four times a year.
This is the first step on the journey to becoming a lawyer in Canada and I hope it helps.

For more information visit
https://flsc.ca/
https://nca.legal/process/application/

There is also a telegram group of Internationally Trained Lawyers who are going through the process as well which you can join to know more

Thank you very much.
Please do you know how I can verify that what I have is the original/legit one?

https://www.nigeriadriverslicence.org/dlApplication/renew

Use your license details on the link above and "pretend" you are trying to do a renewal or reissue. Your Personal information and the likes will pop up if it's on their system thereby confirming if its original or otherwise.

Good day all, please people in Edmonton should help me with the 'normal' range for tenancy/apartment insurance as our property manager has requested for it. Apartment is in the northwest area. Rbc insurance saying 308cad/annum without the option of paying per monthly for the policy chosen. Abeg what's the norm for newcomers and /or alternatives. Make person no go enter one chance abeg, I thought this bill was supposed to be paid monthly. Also, hubby went for knowledge test today and was told to bring utility bill showing proof of address. We don't have that yet as we have been staying with our family friends. Opened accounts with Rbc and phone lines with public . What other document can be used for the purpose of the knowledge test ? Thank you.pls forgive my typos. Don't want to make mistakes. Please I beg to be added to the Edmonton watsap group.

I am with Zipsure Insurance and I pay $15.94/month for a 2 bedroom apartment debited 1st of every month.
For proof of address with the registry, you can use any of the following - a void cheque, hardcopy of your credit card statement mailed to you by your bank in this case RBC, hardcopy of your phone bill mailed to you by your phone service provider - Public Mobile or the mail that was sent to you containing your Alberta Health Card(this must still be intact and within 3months of when it was sent to you)

Send a PM with your number and let's see if you can be added to the WhatsApp group
