I don't mix the reason why I am positive about Oando with politics. I discovered the potentials and started accumulating Oando shares years before Tinubu contested and became president.

As per Bola Tinubu, it is my candid opinion that his govt is a huge failure, a disaster and the worst in economic management in this republic. He is totally clueless, incompetent and bereft of any meaningful ideas.
But Oando is a stocks quoted on the NGX and a company with management and performance not tied to Tinubu.

I would have been the first person to dump my Oando shares if my dislike for the Tinubu govt is the basis for appraising or buying or holding any stocks

You can see the response of those in fidelity. They did not cry foul when they heard sell say the same sell for oando and all its marketers will start crying, attacking, cursing etc. Buy good fundamentally sound stocks and you won't feel bad anytime your love stock is talked about against your expectations

What is Oando? I can only recognize it when it comes out clean with an updated financial we can use to do proper analysis not media hypes

As at now, take it or leave it, you lost the battle on Oando. If tomorrow or any other days, Oando reversed back to less than N15, you can start to make mouth, but for now please maintain and chill. He found out he could get cheaper loans from First Bank, so he got another loan from First Bank in order to settle Access Bank because those guys at Access are Badass

The news item in question is not a recent press conference or press release by Oando.
It is a news portal reporting a story that is more than a year old. It would have been different if it is Oando doing a press release and repeating the same news again and again.
Don't you know that some news portals sometimes recycle stories to fill in spaces?

Who sponsored the news? Anything to move the price is welcomed anyways but I will keep talking.

Emeka has personal debt, mortgage loans and business loans of N160 million, whereas Uche has personal debts, mortgage loans and business loans of N350 million due to accumulated and compounding interest on his loans


Emeka has a net asset or net worth of N140 million, which Uche has a negative net asset or net worth of (N50 million).


Even though they have the same assets, by the time we looked at their bet assets Emeka and Uche are not at par

On your quoted Investopedia picture, I don't think (I am not sure as I rely only on their published financial statements - perhaps another media hype) the plc is insolvent as it still meets its payments to lenders. Also, it generated a positive cashflow from operations in the unaudited 2023 FY published. Infact its cash balance grew in 2023 after cashflow payments to lenders and cashflow out for investment activities, suggesting a turnaround has commenced. Looking closely at the make-up of liabilities a sizeable amount is provision for expected settlements that arose in 2023 plus also provisions for decommissioning activities. If one looks at quarter on quarter perhaps one will have a better clue at that provision to see if there is possibility for the final amount coming out higher or smaller. Also, Oando appears prudent for putting provisions for decommissioning activities in its liabilities. It is worth cross-checking if other local oil production companies like SEPLAT and ARADEL have provisions for decommissioning activities and to understand what exactly the provisions are for.

This is not a warning or Sell or Buy recommendation. But a discuss. Oando may fall or rise in price.

My point isn't even about the price movement of oando. They should release the results instead of always rushing to the media for PR or MEDIA HYPE

I don't even check their price as what is more important is their financials being a public institution. The public needs to know

A private equity firm that holds about 20% of the shares outstanding. They invested in the company a while ago, I think around #300 levels and are now looking to exit having made significant returns on their investment. Rumor has it that it could even be them pushing for the NGX listing for ease of exit (more traction/liquidity on NGX). But I doubt they can just dump their shares on the market like that, so I don’t think it’s anything to worry about as of yet, they will have to find a strategic buyer for the volume they hold and I have it on good authority that they will do an offer for sale

They don't mind circulating old news just to market it. The politics around it and media hypes is what people are buying for the moment so they have to keep dishing out recycled news to keep the price within a particular range until it gets to their target so they can raise funds from the same people that have not benefited anything since they started this wayo years back. I pity the unsuspecting. You are dealing with manipulative heavy money bags

New entrants should be very careful of this government, Oando and their many marketers here and on many other fronts. See what the government is doing to Alhaji ref. And you want to believe them on this Oando packaging? Someone said E go cast and everyone wants to swallow him.

Like I said I will keep talking and bearing my mind about Oando and any stock that qualifies as MH until they improve that's if they have genuine interest of shareholders

People are comparing oando with fmn and aradel callers. It's laughable. Check the responses of holders of those stocks and note the toxicity by oando media reps here simply because they are scared. I wish oando to do the right thing and not just the media noise or MH.

Japaul holders are doing their thing which soon they will probably call me names when Jegede plays the game he is speciality in from 2007 records

Those two (fmn and seplat) didn't make MH of anyone here. They said what they knew and a stock with quality won't mind being talked about.

Oando is a stock driven by media and politics for the now until they start improving the books.

How on earth you could decide which shareholders of what stocks are sincere, less sincere or more sincere from the comfort of your laptop/phone, probably hundreds and thousands of miles away from the shareholders, beats my imagination!

This forum is for NGX Market Pick Alerts! It is NOT for gauging the level of sincerity of shareholders!
So let us help ourselves by releasing the stocks that we believe or know can help us all to make money.
If you do not like my choice of stocks, just ignore, and say your own choice. None of us can be said to be sincere or insincere because we have various perceptions of the stocks we choose.

Investing is a risk-laden business and we all know it.
What we all need are alerts on stocks that can make us achieve good returns; that is what you and I should focus on, not just ringing alarm bells on the stocks we do not like!

Oando isn't the only stocks as MH but the insincerity while promoting it has to have a balance

As for talking you already know I will continue where and whenever necessary on oando and other stocks that are being MH until the management prove to start doing the needful not just media noise
