He has more hits than Dammy Krane. Let me list four hit songs I know. 1. Rihanna. 2. Double Your Hustle. 3. Shoki 4. Ogede. Though no classic hit from Orezi. He remains an average musician like Krane but he is better. Why will Dammy Krane insult Orezi for just joking about artistes not to copy his hair style since he was told it is ugly? SPEAKING IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE AND "CHRIST EMBASSY". An Epistle To Members of Christ Embassy. By UJE OKE. ♡ May the peace of God be unto every Christian including members of Christ Embassy. Amen. When people talk about Jehovah Witnesses; the first thing that comes to my mind is "Paradise", and when people talk about Deeper Life; my first thought is "Holiness", and when Winners Chapel is the day's topic, I take it as synonymous to "Prosperity and Progress". So, if I come across the denomination included in the title of this article joined by (the conjuct) "and", the first thing that I remember about ye members is "Speaking In An Unknown Tongue". Let me start by giving a true and concise flashback about an argument I had with a member of Christ Embassy, whose name I withheld due to respect. What happened was that the said member posting a picture of him and a little child on Facebook added the caption to my understanding that the little child speaketh in tongue and suddenly, I commented "the type she was taught"? And that was how the quarrel and argument started. What made me say so? Between year 2007-09 (couldn't be specific about the actual date, month and year it happened since am not that good with keeping events' dates), me and a Catholic friend were invited by another friend of mine who happens to be a member of Christ Embassy, to a Christ Embassy fellowship. At the fellowship, being new comers, we introduced ourselves and the fellowship head welcomed us and asked if we believe in the Holy Ghost. This he asked after we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. "Yes sir" we said. "Let us stand up", the head replied. We rose to our feet and a short prayer were said for us to receive the Holy Spirit. After the prayer, the head requested we start speaking in tongue as a manifestation of receiving the Holy Ghost. Yes, I am with a Catholic friend who believes speaking in tongue, as a deceit, is a sin against the Holy Spirit and is unforgivable. But for me, I don't believe in such. After a short silence (up to a minute from me and my friend), the head told us to TRY. TRY! Within me (to myself) is this something that someone can try? I can't Bleep-up here, today I must kabash. That was when I started speaking Urhobo and mixing it with jargons like "robo", "raba", "scatter", etc. That was the reason for my comment as regards the little child speaking in tongue, because my first speaking in tongue was due to persuasion and in the midst of Yorubas, Northern Nigerians who donot understand my Urhobo language and they didn't understand. • Today, I want to clarify what speaking in tongue and unknown tongue entails. Speaking in an unknown tongue is one in one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. The nine gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinth 12) include; 1. The word of wisdom, 2. The word of knowledge, 3. The gift of prophecy, 4. The gift of Faith, 5. The gift of Healing, 6. The working of Miracles, 7. The Discerning of Spirits, 8. Different Kinds of Tongues(Diverse Kinds of Tongues), and 9. The Interpretation of Tongues. You may manifest the word of wisdom as a sign of receiving the Holy Spirit and not necessarily speaking in tongue (1 Corinth 12 v 4 - 7). I wonder if ye members of Christ Embassy think when one donot speaketh in an unknown tongue, thou have not receive thy Holy Spirit? And speaking in an unknown tongue is one of the two types of Diverse Kinds of Tongues. TYPES OF DIVERSE KINDS OF TONGUES (Speaking In Tongues, 1 Corinth 13 v 1) They include; 1. Tongues of Men (speaking in tongue for unbelievers ), and 2. Tongue of Angels (speaking in an unknown tongue for believers). 1. TONGUES OF MEN (FOR UNBELIEVERS) I have not seen nor heard ye speaketh in tongue which is for unbelievers. I would be rash and harsh to say that ye don't know about this gift. This type of tongue was recorded in the Bible in Acts 2 v 1 - 15. The disciples gathered on the day of Pentecost, filled with the Holy Spirit, began speaking in tongues and it was meant for the unbelievers. Who were the unbelievers? Acts 2 v 7; and they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, behold, are not all these (disciples) which speak Galilaeans? Acts 2 v 8; and how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? Acts 2 v 9 -11; Parthians, and the Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and Strangers of Rome, Jews and Proselytes, Cretes, and Arabians, we do hear them in our tongues the wonderful work of God. The unbelievers must understand the tongue for them to acknowledge the work of God. Had it been the unbelievers couldn't comprehend what they (disciples) were speaking, won't they have said the disciples are mad and would have not concluded it was the work of God? (1 Corinth. 14 v 23) Therefore, speaking in tongue entails that I, being an unbeliever, and an Urhobo, sees an Hausa Christian speaketh in Urhobo to my own understanding, even though he cannot speak urhobo on a normal day. 2. TONGUES OF ANGELS (SPEAKING IN AN UNKNOWN TONGUE FOR BELIEVERS) Speaking in an unknown tongue is for the believers that is the church. When one speaketh in an unknown tongue, edifieth himself but only when the unknown tongue is interpreted, the church is edifieth (1 Corinth 14 v 4 - 5). What shall it profit the church when you speak in an unknown tongue that the church cannot comprehend? And for this reason, the gift of speaking in an unknown tongue can only edifieth the church when; 1. Someone speaketh in an unknown tongue, and 2. Someone interpreting the unknown tongue. Therefore, you should rather speak five words with the understanding of yourself that by thy voice you might teach others also, than speaking ten thousand words in an unknown tongue (1 Corinth 14 v 19), because if the speaker of an unknown tongue donot understand what he is speaking(1 Corinth 14 v 14), how will he teach the church? And if any man speaketh in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at most, by three (note* two or most three) and that by course, and let one interpret (1 Corinth 14 v 27). But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church and let him speak to himself and to God (1 Corinth 14 v 28). My conclusion is that if thou speaketh in an unknown tongue without an interpreter, thou should keep silence and not disturbing the church with your loud selfish tongue that is of no use to the church. Some persons will say I shouldn't judge, when they don't understand what "thou shall not judge" means but thinketh that one be no criticize. And if thou is a member of Christ Embassy and has criticize the teachings of Jehovah Witnesses or other Christian denominations, thou criticisms I have measured back to you. But if thou a member of Christ Embassy, act mature without insult as a chrsitian that you are and discuss like the way these Jehovah Witnesses don't insult you when you criticize them in their presence. * CHURCH ~ means Christian gathering anywhere not necessarily the main building. * BIBLE USED ~ King James Version (KJV) also known as the King James Bible (KJB) THANK YOU http://www.eyereport.com.ng/speaking-in-tongues-and-christ-embassy/ Lalasticlala Mynd44

In reaction to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo’s promise to treat what he described as “hate speech” as terrorism Mr. Jackson Ude the publisher of Pointblank News said the following. “APC thrived on hate speech between 2014-2015. Today that seed they sowed is haunting them. They now say it’s terrorism! Don’t be deceived. APC came to power by hate speeches, divided Nigeria along ethnic and religious lines, sowed seeds of discord and blamed PDP! Hypocrites!” How apt and how courageous Mr. Ude’s assertion is. I could not have put it better myself. President Muhammadu Buhari, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, National Chairman Chief John Odigie Oyegun and all the other leaders of the APC are indeed a bunch of self-serving deceivers and self-seeking hypocrites. Worst of all they are the architects of terror and the fathers of hate! Permit me to send a strong word and warning to them from here: YOURS ARE THE WAYS OF BULLIES AND FASCISTS! WE CANNOT BE INTIMIDATED BY YOUR PENDING LEGISLATION OR YOUR PUERILE BARRACK-ROOM TACTICS AND NEITHER SHALL WE BE SILENCED. YOU CAME TO POWER BY HATE AND YOU WILL LEAVE IT WITH HATE! When they rejected the notion that all Nigerians were born equal under one God it was not described as hate speech. When they propounded the theory and engendered the philosophy that some Nigerians are more equal than others it was not described as hate speech. When they called those that believe in restructuring “opporunists” and “political jobbers” it was not described as hate speech. When they called those that believe in exercising their right of self-determinaion and that are struggling and fighting for equal rights, equal opportunities and the liberation and emancipation of their people “treasonous criminals”, “evil secessionists”, “irresponsible souls” and “godless rebels” it was not described as hate speech. When they called the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) “a bunch of criminals and looters” it was not described as hate speech. When they called President Goodluck Jonathan “incompetent”, “weak”, “gutless” and “clueless” it was not described as hate speech. When they described him as a “drunken sailor”, a “drunken fisherman”, a “kindergarten President” and insulted members of his family it was not described as hate speech. When they called us “wailing wailers” it was not hate speech. When they called us “PDP” it was not described as hate speech. When they called us “baboons and dogs” and their wives called us “hyenas and jackals” it was not described as hate speech. When they called us “cold-blooded murderers” and described us as “thieves and rogues” it was not described as hate speech. When they encouraged and clapped for a foreign leader who described our people and our nation as “fantastically corrupt” it was not described as hate speech. When they demonised our leaders and called First Lady Patience Jonathan an “ugly and illiterate hippopotamus” it was not described as hate speech. When they called President Obasanjo and President Yar’adua “incompetent jokers and treacherous thieves” who “stole all the money that they were given for the power sector” and who were part of a “cabal of kleptomaniacs” it was not described as hate speech. When they called Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state a “murderer, cultist and gangster” who “has no character” and a “cutlass-wielding butcher and thief” it was not described as hate speech. When they called Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state a “loud-mouthed and illetrate gutter-snipe” and a “low-life danfo driver” it was not described as hate speech. When they called the National Chairman of our great party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, an “unfit, sick and dying invalid” and called the PDP itself a “nest of killers and vipers” it was not described as hate speech. When they called Senator Iyiola Omosore the “killer of Bola Ige” and they called the Igbo people the “5 per cent that would not receive favour” it was not described as hate speech. When they threatened the Igbo with genocide and gave them a quit notuce to leave the north it was not described as hate speech. When they sang cold-blooded and chilling songs calling for the extermination of the entire Igbo race it was not described as hate speech. When they said “an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north” and when they said that it was their intention to “spread sharia into every part if the federation” it was not described as hate speech. When they openly referred to Christians as “pagans”, “arne” and “unbelievers” and when they called Muslims that are in the PDP and that supported Jonathan “heretics and infidels” it was not described as hate speech. When they said that the killing of every Fulani person during the war against terror by the Nigerian Armed Forces was “a debt that would be later repaid” it was not described as hate speech. When they called Shiite Muslims “lecherous souls, wife-swappers, animals, idol-worshippers and blasphemers” that were “not worthy of life” it was not described as hate speech. When they called the Yoruba “cowardly and treacherous”, the Igbo “greedy and ungrateful” , the Niger Deltans “oil bats and filthy scum” and Middle Belters “slaves and minions” it was not described as hate speech. When they said if it took “the slaughtering of 20 million Niger Deltans” to bring peace to Nigeria and to secure the flow of oil it should be done it was not described as hate speech. When they called the poor and suffering masses of the core north “almajiris” and claimed that they were destined by God not to go to school, not to receive an education and not to live a better quality life it was not described as hate speech. When they boasted that that same poor northern masses were condemned by God to live as unworthy paupers and beggars and to suffer and wallow in ignorance and poverty for the rest of their lives it was not described as hate speech. When some misguided elites, religious bigots, ethnic supremacists and modern-day nazis claim that they were “born to rule” and that the rest of us are nothing but “servants, field-hands and serfs” it was not described as hate speech. When they called yours truly a “hate-filled ethnic supremacist and racist”, a “spoilt child”, a “religious bigot”, a “Christian extremist”, an “intellectual fraud”, a “depraved and orgy-loving sodomite”, a “seducer and destroyer of women”, an “incestous peadophile”, a “common criminal”, a “gangster, murderer and assasin”, a “hired gun”, a “rottweiller” and an “insane drug addict” it was not described as hate speech. When they called other PDP and opposition leaders “ritualists”, “cultists”, “killers”, “evil”, “cursed”, “beasts”, “scum”, “thieves”, “rogues”, “haters”, “filthy dreamers” and “cancerous vermin” it was not described as hate speech. When they claimed that Jonathan was responsible for the death of Dora Akunliyi and that he should “get on his knees” and “crawl and beg Nigerians for forgiveness” it was not described as hate speech. When they say that those that called on Buhari to “resume or resign” are a bunch of “jobless and idle youths” it was not described as hate speech. I could go on and on. Is there any shameful, disgusting, undeserved and malevolent label or any insulting adjective and bestial nomenclature that the APC and their friends have not employed or applied to those that have gallantly opposed their tyranny and hegemony? Is there any sickening lie that they have not told about their perceived enemies and detractors? Is there any life that they have not sought to scar, endanger and threaten? Is there any family that they have not used their associates in the media to malign and to incite the Nigerian people against? Is there any slander, libel, fabrication, disinformation, misinformation, misrepresentation and hateful and destructive lie that they have not indulged in? We know and hear all these things and we laugh them to scorn. It is like water off a duck’s back and it takes nothing whatsoever from us because Nigerians know the truth and they are far wiser than these professional APC haters and agents of destruction think. The fact of the matter is that lions pay no heed when goats bleat and when cattle murmur. Dragons lose no sleep when the cock begins to crow and tigers do not concern themselves with the insults and opinions of sheep. Whichever way they want to play it, whatever they do and whatever they say the APC will continue to get as good as they dished out to others over the last four years. We are not intimidated by their threats of labelling us as terrorists and their crude attempt to intimidate and silence us. This is because resisting tyranny and evil is a divine obligation. We shall continue to call a spade a spade and a tyrant a tyrant no matter what they say or do and we are prepared to pay whatever price may come with it. We cannot be muzzled and we shall not be silenced. To the faithful and true I say the following: we must shed our fears and we must never forget that the Lord is with us. We must never forget that even though they may have today, we have tomorrow. We must be focused, we must be strong and we must be bold knowing that we serve a God who is mighty in battle and who never fails. He is the El Shaddai and the Elohim. He is the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. He is the Lord of Hosts, the God of the Armies of Israel and the Ancient of Days. He is our shield, our glory and the lifter of our heads. He is awesome in battle and His banner over us is love. With Him, victory is ours and our enemies shall be brought to heel and crushed under our feet like the desert sand. We lift our swords in the name of Jehova Perazim, we raise our shields in the name of Jehova Elyon and we march forth into battle in the name of Yahweh, the Lord of the Universe, knowing that glory, honor and victory and the blessings of the Most High God await us! His precious love and faithfulness, from whom none can separate us, shall overcome the malice and overwhelm the evil of the architects of terror and the fathers of hate. Obinna Obioha, a Nigerian hacker has been jailed for 51 months by a New York federal judge for operating a fraud scheme that swindled $6.5 million from businesses in the U.S. and elsewhere. U.S. District Judge David N. Hurd sentenced Obinna Obioha, 31, for running a scheme in which he instructed hackers to hack into computers and email accounts of individuals around the world using malicious software. The announcement of Obioha’s sentence was made by Acting United States Attorney Grant C. Jaquith and Vadim D. Thomas, Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. “Obioha, working from Nigeria, was a central figure in a fraud scheme using digital disguises and deceit to bilk businesses out of millions of dollars. We will continue to track down and bring to justice cyber criminals like Obioha no matter where they operate. I thank the FBI for its terrific work in this case identifying and apprehending Obioha,” said Acting United States Attorney Grant C. Jaquith. FBI Special Agent in Charge Vadim D. Thomas said: “These schemes can rob individuals and businesses of their livelihood. Cyber-crime is a serious threat and the FBI is prepared to go to any lengths to apprehend those like Obioha.” As part of his guilty plea to wire fraud in April 2017, Obioha admitted that, while in Nigeria, he worked with and instructed others to hack into computers and email accounts used by dozens of victims in the United States and around the world. The organization infiltrated victims’ computers and email accounts using malicious software (“malware”). After monitoring victims’ information to identify imminent commercial transactions, Obioha and his associates created knockoff email addresses that appeared similar to – but varied slightly from – victims’ legitimate email addresses. Obioha and his associates used those bogus email accounts to send fraudulent invoices to victims, instructing them to wire funds to bank accounts controlled by Obioha and his associates, under the pretense that the wires were payments for actual deals that had been previously negotiated by the victims. Obioha admitted that between January and September 2016, he was involved in at least 50 wire transfers, and that about $6.5 million was sent by wire to bank accounts that he and his associates controlled. The accounts received money from fraud victims in New York, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, and Texas, among other places. During today’s sentencing, U.S. District Judge Donald N. Hurd described Obioha as “right in the middle of the action” in “very sophisticated criminal activity” designed to achieve “millions of dollars in illegal funds.” Obioha was arrested on October 6, 2016, after flying from Lagos, Nigeria, to JFK International Airport. He has been in custody since that time. This case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Wayne A. Myers. Convicted Air Craft Man, ACM, Bernard Kalu had told the General Court Marshal that he did not know when he killed his lover, Air Craft Woman, ACW, Oladipupo sholape, also known as Shomzy Shomzy. His statement, contained as part of the court’s finding was read out by Flight Lieutenant MA Umoh shortly after Kalu’s conviction. According to the document, Kalu said he suspected that his estranged girlfriend was having a love relationship with another man. Recall that Kalu had in March this year shot and killed his estranged lover at her residence at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi, the Benue State capital. Reading out the findings Judge Advocate of the Court, Flight Lieutenant MA Umoh said that when Kalu was taken into the witness box, he agreed that Sholape was his lover whom she had promised to propose marriage to in the presence of his mother. Kalu added that when his mother eventually came, he only introduced her as a lover but didn’t propose to her as promised because his mother had, the night before counseled him to face his study and prepare for his JAMB and NDA examinations rather than thinking about marriage at that age. Kalu told the court that shortly after that period, he started noticing some kind of withdrawal from the relationship on the side of Sholape and during which he apologised and they got back together again. He also said that during Sholape’s birthday last February, they had an issue over his failure to buy her a birthday present but that that too was quickly resolved. Kalu said he went to Compound 9, Corporal and Below Quarters where Sholape had just gotten an accommodation on March 11, and she introduced him to a young man, Samuel Echo but that he was not comfortable with the young man because he suspected that he was having a love affair with Sholape. He said that prompted him to quickly pick Sholape’s phone and scrolled through while they were alone and she was preparing food for him and that he was shocked to see some questionable chats as well as an unused condom by the side of the bed. Kalu said as soon as Sholape appeared from the kitchen and saw him with the phone, she got angry and asked why he was going through her phone without her knowledge adding that when he asked her whether the young man who occupied the house was going to use the condom on her, she said, “now you know, so what else.” He said the statement so angered him that he started having headache and he went back to his house to sleep but couldn’t sleep or do anything stressing that the next time, he saw himself putting on his camouflage uniform at his friend’s place and then he saw himself in the guardroom. The convict said when he later came to himself, he asked why he was in the guardroom, he was shocked when somebody told him he had killed his girlfriend. Asked during cross examination if he killed his girlfriend, Kalu said he did not kill her. President of the court, Gp. Capt. Elisha Bindul found him guilty in six out of the eight-count charges proffered against him and sentenced him to death by hanging, subject to the confirmation of the judgement by the conveying authority. Diego Costa has accused Chelsea FC of treating him like a “criminal”, in a forthright newspaper interview which will deepen the breach with the Premier League club. The striker is seeking a move back to Spain in the transfer window. He has not played for Chelsea since the FA Cup final in May, following which he claims manager Antonio Conte sent him a text, telling him he was not in his plans for the new season. Costa was interviewed at home in Brazil on the same day Chelsea lost their opening Premier League game to Burnley and said he was refusing the club’s demand to return to play with the reserves. “They want me to be there training with the reserves. I wouldn’t be allowed access to the first-team dressing room and I would have no contact at all with the guys,” he told the Daily Mail. “I’m not a criminal! I don’t think it is fair after all I have done to be treated like that.” The Brazilian-born Spain international, who joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in 2014, said if the club did not allow him to move before the transfer window he was prepared to see out his contract unpaid in Brazil. “I am open to being a year in Brazil without playing, even if Chelsea fine me for a year and don’t pay me. “I’ll come back stronger. If I was in the wrong, I’d go back now and do as they say. “I want the deal with Atletico resolved this month. My idea would be to go to Madrid, train there, get in the best physical shape and be ready to fire ahead of the World Cup.” The situation is complicated by the fact that Atletico are currently banned from signing players in this window although a loan deal would be possible. Costa’s relationship with Conte appears to have broken down although the Brazilian accepts the Italian “is a good coach”. Last week Conte said there was “no news” on the Costa situation but earlier this summer said the “situation is closed.” Mynd44 http://www.eyereport.com.ng/chelsea-treats-me-like-a-criminal-diego-costa-2/

The Nigerian Police command in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja explained today why it broke the second day of protest by a group led by Charlyboy Oputa. The group, which calls itself #Ourmumudondo had protested on Monday without hindrance by the police. But as the police explained, the protesters allowed hoodlums to infiltrate their rank today. Here is the police statement: The FCT Police Command in the early hours of today 8th August, 2017 intervened and prevented breakdown of law and order, and disturbance of public peace in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja by dispersing some miscreants, hoodlums and other criminal elements that have infiltrated the protest being carried out by a group of concerned Nigerians under the auspices of Our-Mumu-Don-do Movement at Unity Fountain, Maitama, Abuja. It will be recalled that “Our-Mumu-Don-do Movement” carried out their protest on Monday 7th August, 2017 at the same venue and were accorded necessary Police presence to safe guard public safety and public peace, and protect their rights to freedom of expression, rights to peaceful Assembly and Association, and right to freedom of movement as provided for in sections 39, 40, and 41 of the 1999 constitution as amended. However, today 8th August, 2017 the same group assembled at the same venue but allowed miscreants, hoodlums and other unruly individuals to infiltrate the protests, who started blocking the major roads adjoining the Unity fountain, obstructing traffic and preventing movements of other innocent citizens from going to their means of livelihood, and thereby exhibiting unruly behaviours and other violent acts very likely to cause the breakdown of law and order and disturbance of public peace. The Police personnel intervened at the point that the concerned Nigerians Group lost control of the crowd and prevented miscreants, hoodlums and other criminal elements from hijacking the protest to cause mayhem and chaos. It is pertinent to state here that the FCT Police command is fully aware and recognizes the constitutional rights of every citizen including “ Our Mumu Dondo group” to assemble and move freely in any part of the Federal Capital Territory, but the command will not allow any protest under any guise to turn violent and jeopardise the prevailing peace, law and order currently being enjoyed in the FCT. The command wishes to assure all residents and visitors to the territory of adequate security and protection of lives and property of everyone including those who choose to express their constitutional rights of protest with decorum. Consequently, members of the public, parents and guardians, religious/opinion leaders and other interest groups are advised to prevail on their children and wards, followers and adherents not to allow themselves to be used by any group to cause disturbance of public peace and break down of law and order. The Chairman, Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Mr Rochas Okorocha, said on Tuesday that it was too early for Nigerians to judge elected officials on their performance. “We want to appeal to Nigerians not to judge us from past sins or within the two years we have been in the mantle of leadership of this great country. “You should judge us when the mandate entrusted to us expires,” Okorocha said at the opening of a retreat on policy synergy between states and the Federal Government, holding in Birnin Kebbi. The governor reminded Nigerians that those presently at the helm of affairs came on board when the country was at the brink of collapse due to security and economic challenges. He assured that the APC-led administration would meet the expectations of all Nigerians. “Our party has the best governors ever produced in the history of this country – from Sokoto, Adamawa, Kebbi, Lagos, Imo, Zamfara, Nasarawa, Kogi and others. “When you visit those states, you will know that Nigerians have not made mistake electing us to lead their states affairs. “We have resolved to fix the economy and it has already being fixed, ” he said. The chairman of the progressive governor explained that they are working with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture to put resources together to stamp out hunger in the country. “We are united and Nigeria will always remain an indivisible nation. “We don’t know who is Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo, our determination is only to stamp out hunger and bring democratic dividend to our citizens. “Hate statements should not be taken serious or regarded from anyone,” he said. Okorocha commended Kebbi farmers for saving the country a lot of foreign exchange through their agricultural activities especially rice production. Earlier, Kebbi Governor, Atiku Bagudu, said the governors would continue to work diligently in line with the APC manifesto. Nri community in Aniocha Local Government Area of Anambra has threatened to sue Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), for alleged taboo in Nri culture. Chief Ifeanyi Onyesoh, the Personal Assistant to Eze Obidiegwu Onyesoh, the traditional ruler of Nri community, announced the plan to journalists in Awka on Thursday. He said the people were angry over Kanu’s alleged misconduct. Onyesoh said Kanu with his wife, Uchechi, and supporters visited the palace of Eze Nri on July 19 and a shrine against the tradition of the people. He noted Nri ancient Kingdom is the cradle of Igbo civilisation, whose culture is revered in the five southeast states of Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Anambra as well as Igbo communities in Delta and Rivers. Onyesoh said on July 18, a day before Kanu’s visit, 12 young people came to the palace of Eze Nri requesting for an appointment with the traditional ruler for Kanu. “I was the person that received them and so I told them to go and come back with a written letter so that they will get official reply from the palace since the delegation looked unusual, in that there was no titled person among them. “At this point they all left and what we saw the next day was Kanu visiting Nri community with a huge crowd of his supporters. He (Kanu) went straight to the house of one Chief Shadrack Mbanefo, a subject to the traditional ruler of Nri. “The feelers we later got, was that the said Mbanefo claimed he handed over the `Offo Nri ’, (symbol of royalty) to Kanu, and even allowed Kanu to visit the historic “Ohianwehi forest” revered as “forest of life” by Igbo tradition. “This forest is believed to be the place the first burnt offering was offered by the Jewish Igbo ancestors when they migrated from Israel more than 2,000 years ago,’’ he said. Onyesoh said Nri people considered Kanu’s conduct as a taboo because no high profile visitor entered the community without first visiting the traditional ruler let alone a sacred place without the knowledge of the ruler. He expressed regret that Kanu and his supporters after visiting Mbanefo returned to the entrance gate of the palace and tried to force it open. “It was this unruly conduct that made the traditional ruler to telephone the security agents who responded promptly and dispersed Kanu and his supporters.’’ Onyesoh said the people regarded Kanu’s action as an affront on their values and so resolved not to sweep the matter under the carpet. “It is a taboo in Nri and equally against the Anambra State Traditional Rulers’ Council Law for a high profile visitor to visit a community without first paying homage to the traditional ruler. “The people of Nri and her traditional ruler are not against Nnamdi Kanu and his agitation/aspiration but what we cannot take is for Kanu to come and mess up the Nri culture and tradition under whatever motive. “The community will drag him to customary court to ensure that nobody else gives such insult to the community and its heritage,’’ he said. Reminded that Kanu visited Nri to receive `Offo Nri title’ like the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu and MASSOB leader Chief Ralph Uwazuruike both Biafra agitators, Onyesoh said “if Kanu wants a title, Eze Nri is not aware of such aspiration. “If Kanu indeed met with anybody and claimed he was given `Offo Nri’, it means he is seeking the title through the back door and for the title he claimed was given to him by `Adama’ (Mbanefo ), a servant to Eze Nri, is a nullity. “My advice to Kanu is for him to first step up actions to amend his ways to synchronise with the values and culture of Igbo people which he is stampeding in the name of agitation. “Nri is the ancestral home of all Igbo people and for him to visit Nri in the manner he did means he has no knowledge of Igbo tradition and culture. “So, he must first study Igbo tradition and culture and properly be advised before he misleads himself.’’ Source NAN Mynd44 http://www.eyereport.com.ng/igbo-community-to-sue-kanu-for-alleged-taboo/

Samsung Electronics is now the world’s largest maker of mobile phones, memory chips and most profitable tech firm, going by its record quarterly earnings released today. The figures show that the South Korean tech giant is on course to overtake Apple as the world’s most profitable tech. The firm said huge sales of its new Galaxy S8 smartphone and demand for its memory chips were behind the jump in April-June and predicted another blockbuster report for the current quarter to September. It said operating profit soared a forecast-beating 72.9 percent from the previous year to 14.07 trillion won ($12.6 billion), compared with consensus forecasts of $10.6 billion for US titan Apple, which is due to report next week. However, Greg Roh, an analyst at HMC Investment Securities, told AFP: “Samsung has surpassed its rivals for now but Apple usually sees little fluctuation in its profits whereas Samsung’s profits fluctuate largely on memory chip prices.” The world’s top maker of smartphones and memory chips also said net profit surged almost 90 percent to 11.05 trillion won, its best quarterly result in five years. “The S8 has indeed helped get Samsung back onto its feet, hopefully putting the Note7 debacle behind it,” Bryan Ma, a technology industry analyst at IDC, said before the announcement. Samsung has been trying to overcome an embarrassing recall last year of its flagship Galaxy Note 7 smartphone over exploding batteries, which cost it billions of dollars and dealt a blow to its reputation. It has also been buffeted by a scandal that has seen vice-chairman and heir Lee Jae-Yong charged in connection with the sprawling corruption scandal that brought down South Korean president Park Geun-Hye. Profit breakdown showed the firm’s semiconductor business raked in 8.03 trillion won in operating profit in the second quarter, up 204 percent from the previous year. Samsung provides its chips to other companies including Apple. “The components businesses drove significant earnings growth… thanks primarily to strong memory demand for high-density DRAMs and SSDs for servers,” the company said. This month the firm said it will invest 20.4 trillion won by 2021 to expand and upgrade its chip plants in the South Korean cities of Pyeongtaek and Hwaseong. The factory in Pyeongtaek, 70 kilometres (44 miles) south of Seoul, is the world’s biggest and has recently started production after the firm spent 15.6 trillion won in two years to build it. It also plans to expand its NAND chip plant in the Chinese city of Xian to meet booming demand for the chips used in high-end storage products, it said. With demand for Samsung’s memory chips forecast to continue until next year, analyst Roh said: “Samsung is expected to post another record profit in the third quarter at around 15 trillion won.” Samsung is set to unveil its new Note device next month in New York, just over a year after the exploding battery crisis that saw it remove the Note 7 from shelves. Researchers say monthly vaginal ring and daily oral tablet, both containing anti-HIV drugs, are safe and acceptable in adolescent girls. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the results of the study were presented on Wednesday at the 9th IAS Conference on HIV Science in Paris, France. The study reveals that the use of dapivirine vaginal ring by adolescent girls, most or all of the time, reduces the risk of HIV infection in women by no less than 56 per cent. Dr Sharon Hillier, the Principal Investigator, NIH-funded Microbicide Trials Network (MTN), said the researchers were encouraged by the result of the dapivirine ring in 15 to 17 year-old girls. “The study has demonstrated that the ring is safe in US teens, and now we need data on the safety and acceptability of the ring in African adolescent girls. “The REACH study, scheduled to launch later this year, will generate this data,’’ she said. Hillier stated that an earlier NIAID-funded study called ASPIRE, which enrolled women ages from 18 to 45, tested a ring that continuously releases the experimental anti-HIV drug dapivirine in the vagina over one month. “The results, reported in 2016, showed 27 per cent protection overall but no protection in women ages 18 to 21, likely due to low adherence. “A subsequent exploratory analysis of ASPIRE study data found that, using the ring most or all of the time reduces the risk of HIV infection in women by at least 56 per cent.’’ Hillier said that a phase 2a clinical trial, called MTN-023/IPM 030, was conducted in the United States to examine the safety and acceptability of the dapivirine ring among sexually active girls from 15 to 17 years old. “Adolescent girls and young women, ages 15 to 24, are at particularly high risk for HIV infection. They accounted for 20 per cent of new HIV infections among adults globally in 2015. “Ninety-six girls enrolled at six U.S. sites were assigned at random to receive either the dapivirine ring or a placebo ring in a 3-to-1 ratio. “Neither the participants nor the investigators knew who had received which ring until the end of the trial. Participants were asked to insert a new ring each month for 6 months. “Researchers monitored participants’ health and gauged adherence by measuring the amount of dapivirine in blood samples and used rings.’’ Hillier further stated that the study revealed that the dapivirine ring was safe and acceptable to participants. ‘’Adherence to the ring was high: drug levels in 87 per cent of blood samples and 95 per cent of used rings met pre-specified adherence criteria. “Overall, participants said they liked the ring at 93 per cent of study visits but were concerned about keeping the ring clean and fear of it being felt by primary sexual partner during sex.’’ Hillier said that the MTN investigators would in the study tagged `REACH’ assess how study participants used the monthly ring and daily PrEP and their preferences for either or both approaches. NAN reports that Hillier is a Professor and Director of reproductive infectious disease research, Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Sciences, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Similarly, Dr Anthony Fauci has said that adherence to the ring was high, adding that adherence to the tablet was moderate and diminished substantially when study visits became less frequent. Fauci, a Director, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), said that it was the first clinical trial of the oral tablet as pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), specifically for adolescents girls. He said that the findings paved way for larger trials of the vaginal ring and oral PrEP in this vulnerable age group. “Adolescents and young people represent a growing share of people living with HIV worldwide. “Science has demonstrated that the HIV prevention needs of adolescents may be different from those of adults, which is why these new study findings are so important,’’ he said.
