A San Francisco church will host a "Beyoncé Mass," featuring songs from the pop star that congregation members will be invited to sing along to, and one of its pastors is insisting that the event goes hand in hand with the teachings of Jesus Christ.

"I know there are people who will say using Beyoncé is just a cheap way of trying to get people in the church," the Rev. Jude Harmon, director of innovative ministries for Grace Cathedral, an Episcopal Church, told SFGate on Tuesday.

"But Jesus used very provocative images in the stories he would tell to incite people to ask hard questions about their own religious assumptions. He regularly provoked. We're following in the way of Jesus."

“Although it’s probable that these ‘weird apocalyptic’ booming sounds seemingly coming from the skies have an earthly origin, USGS scientist David Hill says that it’s also possible some of these noises originate from above,” the report explains.

In 2009 Snoop Dogg announced that he had joined the Nation of Islam, then in 2012 he switched gears and became a Rastafarian after a short stint as a reggae artist. Now he claims to be a born-again Christian. And instead of publicly repenting for his sins, which is what some of his Christian critics would like to see him do, Snoop is blasting believers as being hypocrites for not celebrating his transition into gospel music.

"The devil is a liar. I thought church was supposed to welcome sinners," he told TV One after taking the stage at the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, the oldest televised awards show honoring gospel music artists. "If you find someone trying to find their way back home, the natural thing would be to accept him with open arms. We not gonna throw stones while you trying to get right and walking back into the church house.

"That's what's running people away from church right now as we speak: We're trying to get people back in church with a different perspective of come as you are, show love. Andrew Asbil, the Anglican dean of Toronto and rector of St. James Cathedral, was present and in total support of George and Shirley Brickenden's decision to end their lives together, which occurred last Tuesday, according to several reports.

A lengthy April 1 article in the Globe and Mail captured their death as the final moment in a long love affair. The story recounted their initial engagement, decades of marriage, and deep affection for each other, mentioning how neither one was nervous about dying. The Brickendens are not the first couple to receive physician-assisted suicide simultaneously but were reportedly the first to speak about it publicly.

Kenya is slowly splitting at the Rift Valley, geologists have said after massive Earth movements on Monday morning left deep fissures in Narok County.

At the intersection of the damage with the busy Mai Mahiu-Narok road, what was recently an even plain of fertile, arable land has been reduced to a rugged expanse, with a huge tear that is as much as 50 feet deep and more than 20 metres wide running through it.

Christianity is not a bed of roses. Neither God nor His Word in the Holy Bible did promise us a challenge-free Christian life. We are in a battle field and every genuine Christian is involved, whether they know it or not.

The enemy came to steal, to kill and destroy(John 10:10). And you'll find out that the Word of God never said we should deny his existence. The Holy Bible tells us that the enemy roams about like a roaring lion, looking for whom to devour and for that we shouldn't be ignorant of his devices.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

As a matter of fact, nightmares get worse with those who deny the existence of the devil. We are instructed to know that he exists, recognize his assignment and devices, so that we'll know the right way to put him under our feet by the authority and power of God Almighty. It is easier to resist the enemy when we know his tactics and that is what the Bible instructs:

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Getting on Google, I tried to deduce the percentage of those who are victims of persistent nightmares and happened to find out that there are very many out there whose life the enemy has made living Hell on Earth through nightmares.

This isn't limited to Christians, even unbelievers get weird nightmares in their sleep... or maybe some times the worst of it.

It's funny and at the same time saddening to discover that doctors and psychologists also strive to proffer solutions to nightmares. I don't see this as a medical issue. Anti-depressant pills or whatever kind of medications and counselling from so-called 'experts' can not provide solutions to nightmares. Our weapons of warfare are not carnal (2 Corinthians 10:4)....

Kirbyjon Caldwell, a prominent Texas pastor who leads one of the largest churches in America and served as a spiritual adviser to both Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, asked his congregation to keep praying for him Sunday after he was indicted for defrauding a number of them of $1 million.

Caldwell, 64, who is senior pastor at the 15,000-member Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, was indicted last Thursday along with his business partner, Gregory Smith, 55, on multiple charges, including money laundering and wire fraud.

Alyse Merritt grew up as a devout Jew who loved the Torah and wanted little to do with the Christian faith.

"All I knew was that Jesus was the false God of the gentiles because that's kind of what was beaten into our heads since we were very young," Merritt told CBN News. "I thought actually that he was Catholic or Italian because of everything I'd been told and seen on T.V."

"It wasn't until college did I have a supernatural encounter," she continued.

"A man who was literally about seven feet tall with piercing blue eyes one day came in. He had a white Bible that was huge. It was about the size of a family Bible and he started telling me the gospel from this Bible and that Jesus was actually Jewish," Merritt said. "For the first time in my life I was told that Jesus was a Jewish savior and that he was my Messiah."

"He would say Jesus is the lamb who was slain before the foundation of the world, and in Exodus it says without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. So, one day I actually thought, 'You know, in Judaism every year on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, the sacrifice of an animal was symbolic for our atonement. But we didn't have a temple anymore.' So I thought, 'How are we atoned for?'" Merritt explained. 

"One day it totally connected for me and I just fell to my knees after seven months of Alan just witnessing to me and accepted that Jesus, Yeshua, was the lamb that atoned for my sin."

Something shocking happened after Merritt accepted Jesus as her Savior.

"After that experience Alan completely disappeared," she said. "I went to call him on the phone line we'd been talking on for seven months and the line was completely disconnected...

The health of Lazarus had got worse and needed urgent action. Mary and Martha were in dire need of the LORD's swift intervention. A message had been delivered to Jesus informing Him of the severity of Lazarus' sickness but the only reply He gave was "this sickness is not unto death..."

This might had sounded as an assurance to the two sisters that their brother was not going to die. I'm sure that they also expected and waited for the LORD to arrive quickly and heal him, but to no avail.

John 11:1-4 KJV
"Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. [2] (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.) [3] Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. [4] When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.

It is safe to say that Mary and Martha already found themselves in what we can call a dead situation when Lazarus gave up the ghost. I could imagine how they felt when the LORD didn't show up according to their expectation. Their faith couldn't help their feet anymore and they collapsed to the floor weeping uncontrollably. Hawaii is set to join a growing list of states that have legalized physician-assisted suicide. 

In a 23–2 vote in the state Senate Thursday, lawmakers approved a measure allowing doctors to write prescriptions for terminally ill patients that will allow them to die, ABC News reports.
