In UK here, you can live on N0.7m monthly and there is no way you will not earn N1m monthly after tax just working minimum wage. That's living as a freshie off the boat. Once your leg done dey strong, you will see what pays more and gravitate towards that as most common-sense Nigerians do. Your spending will then increase substantially, as will your take-home pay. But you are focussing on the cost of bills, converting to Naira in your head and being intimidated by it, instead of focussing on the income that make such bills possible.

Corruption and loophole exploitation happens everywhere. You cannot use that as a basis to denigrate Nigeria. No system is perfect.
Everyone of us have benefited from a loophole in one way or the other. That doesn't mean we shouldn't hope for things to get better.

Have you ever seen an active Ambulance in Nigeria? Charges are even paid out of city's pockets in some states, and in some it's mostly dependent on the distance and type of services you received. Last I remember in Roanoke it was around $9/mile. And hospitals are like half a mile from each other.

Nigeria has problems, YES! So too does every other country. You guys are making it seem like nigeria is a totally catastrophic hell hole. Until you look at Sudan, Congo, Ukraine, etc. Then you realize it an issue of how relative our problems are.

In America, gangsterism and gun culture has led to a culture of violence. More than 100 people die everyday in America due to gun violence from citizens owning guns to gang affiliated murders in ghettos. Should we talk of Spain and Italy plagued with immigration problems?
