This is the rom that is said to have been able to fix the battery drain issue. I do not have this phone yet. Still waiting for delivery.

These are just stories. Miui 9 is not yet known for battery optimization. There is a custom rom based on miui on xda that had optimised battery for this device.

The BlackBerry Priv – the first Android smartphone ever announced by BlackBerry has now officially reached its end of life. The Canadian smartphone manufacturer has announced that the smartphone will no longer get any more monthly security updates. However, the company will continue to offer support for critical security vulnerabilities and will also honour all current warranties. The Priv was an important handset for Blackberry and marked the end of their own BB10 operating system.

BlackBerry has also announced that it will introduce a trade-up program for current Priv customers as well as those who are using outdated BB10 and BBOS devices soon. The trade-up program will allow them to conveniently upgrade to a modern BlackBerry such as the KeyOne or Motion, hopefully at discounted prices.

BlackBerry said in a blog post – “When we introduced our first Android device more than 24 months ago, we committed to delivering 2 years of monthly software updates for the Priv. Having now stepped outside the original 2-year window, we will no longer be delivering monthly updates for the Priv moving forward,”

BlackBerry launched the Priv in India in early 2016 at a ridiculously high price of Rs 62,990. The Priv has since received numerous price cuts. The Priv came with an all-plastic build but was characteristic BlackBerry in that it came with a hardware 4-row QWERTY keyboard. The phone employed a slider mechanism wherein the keyboard stayed put underneath the main display at all times unless needed. A gentle slide out from the lower end of the screen pulled out the keyboard for all intends and purposes.

Those having longer delay in shipment. Which store did you buy from? Is it Xiaomi online store? What are their reviews, why not write to them? The highest delay I have ever gotten is a month.

Hello house. I have noticed that I have to refresh my Gmail before I get mail notification even if mobile data is on. Pls what can I do to correct this.

Go to battery from settings. Turn off Gmail for MIUI battery optimization per app.

It might be a nice phone but can't go for it. With that price, I can go for something better. I simply don't like mediatek because of their closed source policy unlike snapdragon.

Tecno and other devices using mediatek must wait for Mediatek Inc to release update kernel to their OEMs before OEM can build updates to us. That's the same reason why you can't get custom rom on these devices.

But for snapdragon, it is an open source project which enables anyone including OEM to build update after Google releases it. Same reason why many of Samsung old phones still receive updates via custom rom.

I would rather go for One Plus, Xiaomi, Huawei (excluding their mtk variant). I don't like Sony, LG, and Samsung.

My personal choice. Not trying to discourage or bring up controversy.

You've said it all. I think there's a general hate for Tecno and infinix. Like people just bash them for bashing sake forgetting that this are brands that made a lot of people phone users with their affordable phones.

Sometimes, it is not about bashing. Tecno has good and very bad products. Most hate came from the extremely bad products they produced. Such as Tecno W3, Tecno Y2 and Y3.

I tried everything from sp flashtool, porting some recovery, flash through fastboot but failed,then I found an idea somewhere of temporarily boot into recovery using PC,it worked and I did root the device, thanks a lot for the twrp,the green theme is great also, thanks again bro you made my weekend.
