PoliticsFOCUS: Aisha Wakil, The 'mummy' Of Boko Haram is Igbo by GoggleB(op): 3:05pm On Aug 20, 2016
Barrister Aisha Wakil, the Nigerian lawyer and negotiator for the Boko Haram group recently invited by the Nigerian Army for questioning is reportedly Igbo
– The woman activist, who was born into an Igbo Christian family converted to Islam during her time at the University of Maiduguri where she studied law
– She is reportedly referred to as ‘Mummy’ by Boko Haram members
A report by Vanguard states that Barrister Aisha Wakil, the Nigerian lawyer and negotiator for the Boko Haram group recently invited by the Nigerian Army for questioning is of the Igbo stock.
Barrister Aisha Wakil
Wakil was reportedly born into an Igbo

Wakil was reportedly born into an Igbo Christian family, but converted to Islam during her time at the University of Maiduguri where she studied law.
The report stated that Wakil’s closest revelation about her linkage to being Igbo was when she was quoted to have disclosed in an interview with a national newspaper her peace-making efforts.
According to her, she started the dialogue process since 2009, even before the major crisis erupted because I knew their slain spiritual leader, Muhammad Yusuf.

Her words: “His father-in-law, late Alhaji Baba Fugu Mohammed, was my spiritual father in Islam, and I used to visit his home.
“In fact, Mohammed Yusuf almost married my younger sister Amina, but Almighty Allah did not make it possible. So that was how I got closer to the duo.
“It went even to the extent that I was cooking food and taking it to the house of late Alhaji Fugu, to the pupils of the Qur’anic school, (almajari).
“And because I am from the southern part of the country, I normally prepared southern dishes, which Yusuf had always come to eat. In fact, he liked my egusi soup very much, and we became very close when his father-in-law told him that I was the one who cooked the food.
“So anytime we met, he expressed delight and prayed that Almighty Allah would reward me, for he was eating from my pot and that was how I established a strong relationship with him.”
Wakil who is always totally veiled is married to another lawyer, Wakil Gana who is presently a judge with the Borno state High Court.
The couple were named by the Boko Haram sect to negotiate on their behalf during the administration of Dr Goodluck Jonathan. Aisha’s name also featured prominently on the list of government negotiators at the time.
Those in the know say, she had almost always carried out her conduct and liaisons with Boko Haram with the knowledge of the authorities. In fact, she is said to be a staff of the National Human Rights Commission.
She is famed for calling the Boko Haram insurgents at one point as her children.

She was quoted as saying: said: “Then they were not Boko Haram and Jama’atu ah-lil Sunnah members. It is surprising how these children turned out to be what they are now. I keep on saying there is certainly no smoke without fire.
“Something must have triggered those innocent-looking children to grow up behaving the way they are behaving now.
“You needed to see them growing up. Sometimes when I start talking about them, I shed tears. Those children prayed, and still pray a lot. I have a mosque in the house, and they would always go in and pray.”
During the height of the insurgency, Aisha was able to mobilise some Borno women to come out to protest against the attacks by the Islamist group.
At that time she was quoted to have referred to the Boko Haram insurgents as her children.
“My sons, I have been begging you since in silence to come out and state your grievances and stop destroying your homeland. Please come out and state your grievances and stop these killings. ”

While some women swore not to have another baby after their first one due to the pain of childbirth they must have experienced, one woman defied the odds by making continuous trips to a labour room.
Sometime in the 18th century, between 1725 and 1765, a woman married to a Russian farmer, had 69 children (yes you read right) for her husband who was known as Feodor Vassilyev.
Even though she didn’t push them all out at once (who would though), the children came in batches and most women wouldn’t expect her to have kept trying and even going on to have more babies. The woman was said to have gotten pregnant 27 times during her marriage to the farmer.
According to Guinness world records, the woman had 16 pairs of twins, 7 sets of triplets and 4 sets of quadruplets. Even though one set of twins were said to have died at infancy, the other 67 children went on to live past childhood. This woman’s peculiar case was reported to Moscow by the Monastery of Nikolsk on 27 Feb 1782, which had recorded every birth.

It didn’t end there, according to reports, this same farmer remarried after his first wife and mother of his 69 children died. The second wife went on to get pregnant 8 times, giving birth to a total of 18 children, six pairs of twins and two sets of triplets.
As at the time the farmer turned 75 years old, 82 of his children were still alive and well.

Ghost please help us slap other leaders so they can have common sense to rule us
PoliticsOkorocha Reacts To Being Slapped By A Ghost by GoggleB(op): 3:16pm On Aug 19, 2016
NAN(Abuja): The Imo State Government has described as false the report that Governor Rochas Okorocha was slapped by a ghost and is in an Indian hospital for medical treatment.

Mr Sam Onwuemeodo, the chief press secretary to Okorocha flatly denied that governor is sick.

He also denied that the governor went to India for treatment. “The governor had travelled to meet with some of the investors who had invited him for further discussions on the prospects of their coming to invest in the State.

The Okorocha’s media aide said that his boss is a Christian, and does not know what it means to see “a ghost or ghost women”.

“He travelled with few economic aides, and we informed Imo people and the general public and as God would have it, two days to the planned trip, the daughter gave birth to a baby boy and he would use the opportunity to visit his daughter’’, Onwuemeodo stated.

According to Okorocha’s aide, the governor’s wife was already there with their daughter for what the Igbo people call “Ile Omugwo” (visit to a nursing mother by mother) and that Okorocha’s is visit is to see the new baby.

Onwuemeodo noted that in the event of the governor being sick, the information would be made public.

“Ailment or sickness has been there with mankind, the angle that makes the whole claim funny is the “ghost dimension”, and that explains how spiritually poor those behind this balderdash are’’, he added.

Onwuemeodo blamed the report on what he tagged the antics of some of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) folks in the state.

“We accused them (PDP) of being behind the malicious audio because it came twenty four hours after the convincing defeat of the party by the APC in the re-run elections in Okigwe senatorial zone and the three state constituencies of Isiala Mbano, Oru East and Owerri West’’, he noted.

The Okorocha’s media aide said that his boss is a Christian, and does not know what it means to see “a ghost or ghost women”.

He said that the governor is being expected back to the state and once that happens, that the public would be duly informed.

31-year-old Chinese man, Zhang Yue has been stuck with the weird habit of drinking liquid soaps over the years.

Zhang Yue was reported to have been drinking liquid soaps since 2012, which he stated to have started by taking few sips until it later turned into an uncontrollable habit from dish washing liquids to shampoos. Zhang’s obsession with consuming detergents has gained him an unusual fame but that has come with a cost. His habit, he said, has turned away women, making his love life unstable.

According to reports, medical checks have shown that Zhang is healthy despite all his high intake of liquid soaps. Medical examinations further revealed that he could have a condition called pica, an eating disorder that is characterized by the desire to eat items with little or no nutritional value, including stones, sand, paint and much more.

I don't get it.

This man, like other men who do this job, have forever prayed, fasted and held vigils for Nigeria yet everything about the country is getting worse. Yet, they still keep saying pray.

Yhe same way many of them prayed, fasted & had visions of Boko Haram's death yet it kept getting stronger and they all had to hide away from making any statements on BH.

It is like a case of a bad transmission in a car, the car won't go anywhere till the problem is fixed, praying from now through the next 100 years won't fix it.

These men should start telling the obvious truth & quit taking us back to the method that has not fixed anything in Nigeria.
Christianity EtcWith Prayers, Necessary Changes, Nigeria Would Overcome Its Problems – Adeboye by GoggleB(op): 4:19pm On Aug 17, 2016
Abuja - Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has called on Christians to continue to pray for peace to take centre stage in the country.

He made the call on Tuesday night at the 8th Edition of the monthly Divine Encounter in Abuja.

The General Overseer also urged the Christians not to treat words from God with levity, adding that ‘’a word from God is capable of altering a person’s destiny for good.’’

The Cleric, who made reference to Jacob in the Bible, explained that Jacob’s name was changed to Israel, meaning ‘’May God prevail” due to some circumstances he had with his brother.

``After the change of name, Israel became a great nation, the pastor said.”

He said that the current challenges in the country should not be seen as permanent, adding that with prayers and necessary changes, Nigeria would overcome its problems.

Adeboye assured Nigerians that ‘’one word from God can settle all issues of life’’ including the current challenges in the country.

``A word from God can begin a person’s journey to glory.”
Quoting Book of 2 kings, Chapter 4, verses eight to 17, in the story of the Shunammite woman, the cleric recalled that the word of God, through prophet Elisha, changed her destiny for good.

According to Adeboye, when God speaks to an individual, the manifestation of that word results into abundant supply.
``When God speaks, it is done”.
Adeboye, however, called on Christians to turn away from sin and embrace righteousness and holy living.

The Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo and his wife, Dolapo and Oby Ezekwesili, former Minister of Education were among prominent personalities that attended the programme.

Highlights at the event were prayer for the peace of Nigeria and for the release of Chibok girls.

Team Nigeria’s Ese Brume is through to the final of the women’s long jump event at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympics.

Brume, the only African in the final, qualified as the sixth best jumper with a leap of 6.67m. The reigning Commonwealth Champion will hope she can ruffle feathers for a possible podium finish.

The Women’s Long Jump final is fixed for 9.15 p.m. Brazil time, about 1.15 a.m. on Thursday in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, it was another bad day for Blessing Okagbare as she failed to make it beyond the semi finals of the 200m event.

Okagbare, who had also crashed out in the semi final of the 100m, finished 5th in her 200m semi final race and her time of 22.69 could not earn her a final ticket.

The only hope for a medal for Okagbare now lies in the 4x100m where the country faces an uphill task against the likes of Jamaica and USA.

There was more disappointment for Nigeria on the tracks where the country’s hope for a place in the men’s 110m hurdles finals evaporated with the last place finish of Antwon Hicks in his semi final race.

Nigeria will hope her athletes get it right on Wednesday as Tobi Amusan will be competing in the 100m hurdles semi final while the final comes up hours later.

Also Divine Oduduru will be racing alongside Usain Bolt in one of the two men’s semi final races. The race is fixed for 2 a.m. Thursday morning.

Ajagba lost by unanimous decision of 28-29, 28-29, 28-29 to Dychko who won bronze at the London 2012 Olympics.
The Nigerian pugilist had a bright chance of progressing to the semi-finals after he out-punched his Trinidad and Tobago’s opponent Nigel Paul, through a knockout in the run-up to his quarterfinals fight.
Ajagba who is the sole boxer representing Nigeria in Rio, lost all three rounds to Dychko as he failed to throw good punches in the last two rounds.
