A Nigerian grandma based in California, United States of America who received a couch from a stranger online for free has returned te sum of $36,000 she found inside the couch.

Vicky Umodu, a resident of San Bernardino County, said she was looking through Craigslist to purchase furniture for her new home when she found some pieces that someone was giving away for free.

“I said, ‘Maybe it’s a gimmick.’ I said, ‘Let me call them,'” Umodu said to herself

The woman later learned the family was giving away the furniture due to the recent passing of a loved one, according to the report.

“I just moved in, and I don’t have anything in my house. I was so excited, so we picked it up and brought it in,” Umodu added

Stashed underneath the cushion was $36,000 in cash, Umodu revealed to reporters.

The California woman notified the family, offering to return the sum, who then rewarded her generosity.

The family said they were not sure why so much cash was in the couch and they later discovered hundreds of dollars stashed away in their home, per the report.

Former Golden Eaglets player, Abba Bichi, also know as Bichi Jnr is being likened to Brazilian star Neymar, after he was seen in action in some football games.

Bichi is the son of Yusuf Bichi Magaji, the Director General of the country’s security agency DSS and his move into the Eaglets Squad at the 2019 U-17 World Cup was met with so much criticism.

SOS message on Micronesian beach saves three stranded men after being spotted by Australian authorities

Three men who went missing have been rescued from a tiny Pacific island after writing a giant SOS sign in the sand that was spotted from above, authorities say.

The men were missing in the Micronesia archipelago east of the Philippines for nearly three days before their distress signal was spotted by searchers on Australian and U.S. aircraft, the Australian defense department said.

The men had set out from Pulawat atoll in a 7-meter (23-foot) boat on July 30 and had intended to travel about 43 kilometers (27 miles) to Pulap atoll when they sailed off course and ran out of fuel, the department said.

Searchers in Guam reportedly asked for Australian help and the military ship, Canberra, which was returning to Australia from exercises in Hawaii, diverted to the area and joined forces with U.S. searchers from Guam.

The men were reportedly found about 190 kilometers (118 miles) from where they had set out

According to ABC News, the men were found in good condition, and an Australian military helicopter was able to land on the beach. They gave the men food and water before the Micronesian patrol vessel then pick them up.

SOS is a Morse code distress signal, used internationally, and was originally established for maritime use.
