linearity:I may agree with MI leaning Democrat somehow, but PA the republicans has gained substantial amount of ground in PA. So it can go either way right now check opinion polls, the gap isn't much. The mistake you guys keep making is thinking Biden will do better than Hillary. Hillary was the most popular woman in history of American politics and in presidential elections. Biden can never pull the enthusiasm and support Clinton garnered without stress. Let alone now he's deteriorating mentally. If not for the support and backing he got from the moderate candidates that dropped out on the eve of super Tuesday, we wouldn't be having this conversation. This would be 2016 2.0. yes, I agree trump has gone to the right too much but he's still a populist that can motivate the disenfranchised to come out and vote. That's a big plus. I know Trump will win Florida, he has worked hard there and he has a very good structure there also. He even moved from New York to Florida recently as his current home state (not a determinant) but I think it's an advantage. I still can't tell about PA and MI, maybe we will experience a second wave of shock this year. That notion about Bernie supporters sitting at home is all büllshit made by the mainstream media to hold on to due to their prediction failures. Bernie is not a even a democrat, he's not even liked by democrats as he's seen as a radical communist-socialist. No one wants that. He's policies are not even feasible. And he didn't achieve anything for more than 30 years in congress. American voter turnout was higher in 2016 than 2012 and it has been resonating within 58% (2012) to 54 percent, if you are observant of US elections. When I read somewhere that 20 million BernieBros stayed at home, I laughed. What nonsense journalism. I agree some of his aggrieved supporters stayed at home, it happens all the time but I can tell you the number that voted is higher than those that stayed at home. Bernie Sanders could never have been more popular than Hillary Clinton. He wouldn't garner enough support from the democrats to defeat Trump.  Maybe we are in for another surprise this year. Any contender in that primaries would have found it hard to defeat him because of the message he was passing and the people he passed it to. Like the people that felt disenfranchised by both parties establishments, the blue collar workers etc. Trump was taken seriously but they failed to match him simple. Yes this election would be difficult to call because the democrats are on the offensive, MOST incumbent elections will be hard to call and they are now cautious after what happened in 2016. Trump has over 95% approval rating from the republicans, the highest for any GOP president. Trump has the best economy in over 50 years in the history of any US President, how about that? Tell me his campaign promise he has failed to reach? That's part of the agreement for them to join as a United State. I'm sure the democrats wouldn't be complaining if it was the other way round. Predictions was meant to cover up a state by state plurality. She was tipped to win Pennsylvania by 6 points, Florida by 5 points, Wisconsin by 5, Michigan by 7. Her winning the popular votes was because of unprecedented high voter turnout in California especially LA region. Even pollsters were amazed. The high voter turnout is due to celebrities overwhelmingly endorsing Hillary Clinton, the joy to see the first US female president. Biden can never build up such enthusiasm like that. So I predict, a lower percentage of win to Biden compared to Hillary Clinton's 2016 and an increased vote percentage for Trump. Since 2000, a democrat has never won that state. Pennsylvania and Michigan would be the most competitive this year. It's a clear tossup. Trump is even showing a good lead in some Pennsylvania polls. Michigan is what I can't stand and predict. It may go any way. Wisconsin will be a tossup also but I see trump edging out due to his appeal to coal miners in the state. He promised them in 2016 to bring back coal mining operation in the state and Clinton said she would convert the state to green energy zone of which they don't want. So the election landscape has been made to favour the democrats for at least the next two decades in presidential elections. To be honest, no one would have beaten Clinton in the Republican Party except Donald Trump because he came and passed a different message that appealed to a particular democratic voting block though that are not actwually democrats (we call them the Reagan democrats). And they perceived him as an outsider who's not a regular party establishment, a successful business man who would put his business experience in governance. Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio and the rest wouldn't have hit those punchlines that would have motivated people to come out and vote. They would have pretended and formed political correctness just like Bernie Sanders blew his chance to finish crooked Hillary and grab the nomination when her email and corruption case came out. The same reason he can never be president of any country. He's running a weak campaign, forget his base. He doesn't know how to play the game of politics. Trump has opened a pathway for republicans to white house so even if California gives the democrats 15 million votes it won't be a determining factor to victory. The founding fathers foresaw this period and created the electoral college vote to checkmate over population in such cities. Meaning no state is more important in presidential elections than the other. Every state no matter how small got to play a role in electing a president, hence the effectiveness of the electoral college. That's why the Dems don't want sanctuary cities to be closed because those immigrants and aliens make up a large voting block for the them. Trump has given the republicans a lifeline, they would be ever grateful. No one saw that coming. The Dems may not get to see the presidency anytime soon due to trump's precedence. 6 Likes |

CutieKing:Yes, election is a local affair as stated by the constitution but remember the states don't always follow or completely understand how the constitution works. That's why we have the court of law to interpret that constitution. Why does the court sometimes upturn electoral orders from the governor given that it's written in their state constitution to carry it? Eg: governor of California tried to bypass it's state constitution by signing an executive order blocking presidential aspirants from conducting primaries without declaring their tax returns (indirectly aimed at Trump, probably from her aunty Pelosi). CutieKing:A federal injunction CAN supercede the state's in some aspects in the US. All that's needed a federal executive order from Trump. If the democrat house tries to repeal, it will be blocked in the Republican senate. Then if governors refuse, it would be challenged in the Court of law where a judge will pass a jurisdiction. Since I stopped watching CNN, MSNBC and Co, I started seeing the light. They have even stopped airing his press conferences because he can now talk to the people live on the pandemic. The people gets the news directly from the horse's mouth. Thus his ratings and approval has increased. Even one of their reporter has confessed and apologized . 1 Like
