I'm still a student in OAU and to be sincere if it is all these rubbish we are being made to learn is what makes a school great then no Nigerian university deserves to be anywhere near the 1st 5000. I dont really understand,is it the architecture, landscape or the product of a school that makes it great? The general practise of schools in Nigeria is to build an imposin gate for any passer-by to admire only for u to enter and see the mess we call schools. Come to OAU and see the 19th century bookshop we call a library!
To sum it up,I think any school tryin to lay claim to being the best should back it up with substance. UI backed up their's by winning the Zain challenge. Anybody else should point to what their schools have achieved on the big stage in the last 10yrs or else shut up for ever. Rant Over
which hole did this one crawl out of abeg  huh
is it the same Hezekiah Oluwasanmi Library you are calling 19th century bookshop?

@poster
im always surprised when i see threads like this cos the world is looking at us nigerians as being fraudulent and we keep proving to them that we are.Posting this kind of thread on the internet,to me,is not going to help us rebuild the national image that we are trying to build so i think people should get wiser.the poster could have got help from talking to people not necessarily by putting our integrity as a nation in doubt considering that these authorities have access to all these things too.thank you

To clear up the air a little.
While I agree paying to 'arrange' a marriage is quite illegal and may backfire as the partner may backout or the scam be detected, it is absolutely ludicrous to think there are no genuine marriages and genuine filing.
People do fall in love and often have their partner offer to file for them without paying. That is what I said is not ILLEGAL.
But paying for such purpose. . . lipsrsealed

And if you decide to lie your way to getting married for papers, You are on your own.
I know of a paddy, after the marriage, the wife refused to have protected sex again, cos she couldn't geddit  tongue

Heavens be with you if you find someone to marry and file for you.
But paying for such is outright illegal and risky.

so you happen not too notice the people advocating bigamy and 'arrangee' marriage on the thread?. . .nıgga please!
To the best of my knowledge and of cos general knowledge, while bigamy is mostly illegal in many countries, 'arrangee' is in no way illegal.
A marriage is a marriage.
or what dyo call the 'arrangee' marriage being practiced in some rural parts of Nigeria  whereby a 'village girl' is arranged for the 'town man' huh

as for the bigamy dude, what you are contemplating is outright illegal.

hi house, how is your weekend going,  i must say this forum is impressive and thoughtful,

i have a LASG scholarship to study for my master degree but i have a few questions.

i am waiting for my I-20 from the university of Northern Virginia for April resumption, this are my question:

1.my school didnt request for GRE nor TOEFL. do i need it for the embassy?

2.Would i be able to pay my SEVIS fee online, cos i have a zenith/GTB visacard and GTB mastercard?

3. do i have to pay my fees before going to the embassy?

4. i currently work, so what documents do i need to go with?
1. No. Not really. However, have a ready answer as to why you didn't take those exams. But a quick advise, go write them to avoid any long tin

2. No.

3. No.

4. Check the US embassy website for documents required from those applying for an F1 Visa.

@nethacker: then its cooool dude, so do U hv a friend there or sumtin.
Dr. Tony, dunno, but i just feel your case. This is a visa thread but lets digress. You are a medical doc so you should know the path to practicing (residency) in the US which i guess its what you want. Truth is you need to sit for the USMLE as you already know aint beans but God dey as u said. You can only write the first stage of the USMLE in Ghana after which the second stage is written in the US in which case you will need a visa for. I strongly doubt the possibility of embassy giving you a visa based on the fact you want to go write USMLE cos what that means is you intend not coming back to Nigeria, a situation they frown on seriously. So you wanna get to the states, you want to consider the masters option. There after you can seat for USMLE once you pass the POE  lipsrsealed

4ril:
Sometimes, people share the questions they were asked during their US visa interview. I have an observation about an aspect of the questions and I wish to get an answer. example;

Consular: How many schools did you apply to and how many accepted you?

I followed this thread from page 1 to 56. I didn't see any one who said " I applied to only one, and I was accepted by that one alone". I noticed that most people said they applied to more than one.

My question is this; assuming one actually applies to one school, and got accepted by that school alone. Is it risky to say say it? Must one say that he/she applies to e.g 2 schools, 3 schools or something? Please, this is my observation and I wish to get a good reply. Thank you.
I think the first question you need to answer is are u applying to one school huh
If yes, I suggest you start applying to some other schools. Getting admission aint beans and the consulars know that. That you r applying to more than a school shows you are serious about studying in the states and not just playing 'tete'.

While it myt not make a difference as femilangy posited, you want to have a ready answer as to why you applied to only one school.

God bless you as you do so Thanks. Heres also my mail: Tunacer@yahoo.com
no long tin chief. there are two ways about it, its either you want to get a masters in a medical related field or you want to go do your residency in which case doesn't require masters, all you need is to pass the USMLE.
