Nawa There is NO WAY in any universe that a relegation specialist like Mateus Fernandes is worth £85 million except one of madness. He is not a bad player but I repeat he is not exceptional. United dodged a dangerous bullet in refusing to get into a bidding war with those lunatics at Tottenham. By the end of the season, fans will realise that United and Carrick dodged a bullet just like Rory Delap in refusing to pay that crazy and abnormal money for an average player who wanted to put the club over a barrel and perform a rear entry with no vaseline! |

Spurs have escaped relegation two times in a row. They could be third time lucky this season. It is not to just sign players. It is the balance of the team. From past experience Roberto de Zerbi is a loose canon and a ticking time bomb. A total Russian roulette gamble.I bet he walks out on Spurs midway through his 5 year contract over one mundane issue or the other. |

Comparing Prime Roy Keane to a 21 year old player who has gone through relegation twice with Soton and West Ham and is probably on a hat trick of relegations with Spurs is amusing. United have been taken to the cleaners from big money transfers for mediocre players several times since Sir Alex retired. Names like Memphis Depay,Martial,Lukaku, Pogba(twice),Jadon Sancho,Angel di Maria,Antony,Fred,Bastian Schweinsteiger,Henrikh Mikhitaryan,Eric Bailly and Alexis Sanchez have been signed for big money fees and in the end had no interest of the club at heart. They were flops and virtually felt like the club was taken as donkeys by agents and the players. They were only after money and could care less about the club history or culture. United were ready to match the £85 million for Mateus Fernandes but insisted on a staggered payment which was rejected by the players representatives and the selling club West Ham. So in the end it was obvious that the player was after immediate monetary advantage. United have probably dodged a bullet here but we should know better by the end of the new season. I am absolutely confident that United management have other irons in the fire but are very much in their rights to refuse to be drawn into another mindless and silly transfer war. If they have their targets and have a way they are ready to carry out their transfer business, then they are entitled to do things their own way. The end result which is to win trophies is the means. |

But instead to learn, they'd rather hate him for it. Arteta also played a low block against PSG in the Champions league final. The problem with most of these new age coaches,is when they meet a low block playing team, how do they break them down? This same Tuchel against Manchester City in the 21 Champions league final played a low block to win the trophy with an average Chelsea team. The point is that when most of these over rated coaches come up against a well organised team playing a low block, can they break them down and defeat them when chasing a game without being caught out with a fast counter attack? |

All religions and gods therein are mere creations from the minds of men to suppress and control other men. The sooner you realise this is the quicker you free yourself from the fish bowl syndrome that holds your intellectual capacity hostage of man made religion. Go back and read the first commandment on that list with your intellect and think deeply what it means?! The first commandment goes like this: 1. "YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME...." Reading this critically, you come to realise this god accepts and knows there are other gods beside him but his ego, insecurities, narcissism and vanity will not allow him tolerate the worship of other gods. Obviously this god knows it is man made as are all the other thousands of various gods. Except you free your mind and way of thinking you will remain a prisoner of the religious fish bowl. |

So let those who are wise read and check how did God, praise, make high, glorify, support, motivate, recommend or give a command for establishing slavery
Exod.21.2 "If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything. (NIV)
Humans decided to take each other has slaves and Moses wrote laws to govern the behavior of Israelites towards their slaves remembering they were one slaves. So because a person is a slave to you doesn't mean he can do and undo to them, you shall not commit murder, their freedom belongs to you not their life.
Exod.21.19 - If the injured person is later able to walk again, even with a crutch, the assailant will be innocent. Nonetheless, the assailant must pay for time lost because of the injury and must pay for the medical expenses. Exod.21.20 - "If a male or female slave is beaten and dies, the owner must be punished. Exod.21.21 - If the slave recovers after a couple of days, however, then the owner should not be punished, since the slave is the owner's property. Exod.21.22 - "Now suppose two people are fighting, and in the process, they hurt a pregnant woman so her child is born prematurely. If no further harm results, then the person responsible must pay damages in the amount the woman's husband demands and the judges approve.
God frees slaves and prisoners yet they both still exist.
God nor His church established slavery, the apostles taught how we should treat and love people around us. What? Were you expecting the church to abolish the government of the world?
Col.3.22 - You slaves must obey your earthly masters in everything you do. Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. Obey them willingly because of your reverent fear of the Lord. Col.3.23 - Work hard and cheerfully at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
Bro most Nigerians are slave, we work for what we eat and what we wear daily, the rest is taken away by our owners or leaders. The church had no legal authority to abolish Roman slavery, or you want to use your cleverness by a "ful" to tell us how the church would have abolished it or should they have told them, rebel, kill your masters, rape their daughters, hurt them back.
Okay, Peter, I bet you didn't read those verse nor will you read this, Mr. Clever 1Pet.2.17 - Show respect for everyone. Love your Christian brothers and sisters. Fear God. Show respect for the king. 1Pet.2.18 - You who are slaves must accept the authority of your masters. Do whatever they tell you--not only if they are kind and reasonable, but even if they are harsh. 1Pet.2.19 - For God is pleased with you when, for the sake of your conscience, you patiently endure unfair treatment. 1Pet.2.20 - Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing right and are patient beneath the blows, God is pleased with you. 1Pet.2.21 - This suffering is all part of what God has called you to. Christ, who suffered for you, is your example. Follow in his steps.
1Tim.6.1 Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. (NLT)
Or serve so well, wait that's what Joseph did and some how he ended up in prison nah, he passed through the prison and became the prime minister of the greatest nation of that era.
The gospel was also for the slaves not for them to be enslaved but for them to find freedom even in humanly caused situation, to focus on serving God and look at their situation as an opportunity to show God's love. Whether you are free or a slave.
Eph.6.5 - Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. Eph.6.6 - Work hard, but not just to please your masters when they are watching. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart. Eph.6.7 - Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Eph.6.8 - Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free. Eph.6.9 - And in the same way, you masters must treat your slaves right. Don't threaten them; remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and he has no favorites. Like I said earlier, you can twist and turn like a pretzel and turn as much Amala and Eba as you want. The simple fact is the Christian God and his book do NOT once condemn slavery but rather promote and advocate for slavery as an institution of virtue!!! TheMadame: Sir, Check the title of the thread. This thread is based on the commandments in Exodus and not the entire Mosaic laws. You have still not provided a source that proves these commandments were not from God to Moses and that they were stolen from Babylonian moral laws. The point I am putting across to you is the fact that morality does not come from just a bunch of written laws on a stone tablet or a piece of paper. Morality stems from many different factors such as inate empathy. Evolution of empathy helps humans understand each other better. Secondly human reason helps people develop the aim of the greatest good for the greatest number of people. While I agree that religion may play a part in morality,it is obvious that as humanity progresses and thought process evolves, religion itself has to evolve and adopt the rules that benefit the greatest number of people in the society. Morality is inate. It is in born. It is the human ability to distinguish right from wrong. It does not totally come from a set of rules written in a religious book. It is the humans that wrote the rules in the religious books. |

TheMadame: Plagiarism is a strong word, sir. There may have been Babylonian influences on the Mosaic laws but there is certainly no evidence of Plagiarism. If you have such evidence could you please provide a source for this your claim. You seriously need to educate and update yourself. The ten commandments you listed from Exodus are not the total and complete Mosaic laws. The Mosaic laws are found in Exodus, Chapters 17, 22,24,and 34. They are also found in Deuteronomy,Chapter 34. Leviticus,Chapter 26. Numbers. The book of Kings as well as the book of Joshua. These Mosaic laws touch on morality, society, purification, festivals, sacrifice and offerings and how to conduct them, instructions for selection of the priesthood and the tabernacle. Laws on the ark of the Lord. The food laws cover clean and unclean foods. The clothes laws cover allowed and forbidden apparel for the Israelites. The laws may not have been plagiarised but these laws were certainly influenced by earlier Babylonian civilisation. |

I hope you know these Mosaic laws are plagiarism of ancient Babylonian/Akadian/Hamurabi laws that proceed them by thousands of years. |

TheMadame: God is setting out the basis and terms by which he will love and protect his people. It is a terms for an agreement. Once you agree to these terms you will come under the broad love and protection of God Almighty. These are very simple moral codes to follow. The terms set out in the beginning of the ten commandments are a miniscule price to pay to attain eternal life, don't you agree? Those first four commandments scream about the vanity and ego of the God in question. They scream,ME!ME!! and only ME!!! Don't you find it incredibly strange that there is no condemnation of a evil vice like slavery in these ten commandments? |

TheMadame: The ten commandments, that God gave to Moses, and inscribed on two stone tablets, are found in Exodus Chapter 20 verses 1-17.
____________________________________ 20 And God spoke all these words:
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 “You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” Interesting. Don't you find it strange and egotistical that this God spends almost half of these commandments talking about himself and what he wants?
