Mrluv:
all this mi account and anti theft app are rubbish i think producer of phone should create an app even if the thief flash the phone the mi account should be still active that locking of a thing should be optional allow the thief use the phone and immediately another sim is insert on the phone let the number be sent to your email and very password of the thief social account it would go a long way to solve phone thief
Everything you said is exactly how it works except the social media account part. If your bootloader is not unlocked it is practically impossible to even flash the phone. By the way, I don't think many phone thieves these days are dumb, they know about tracking and all, in fact, thieves are seeing what we post here too, so they are careful.

December 2023 my phone was stolen, it was a miracle we found the thief the next day because someone saw him running out like a thief from the premises the previous day. The thief in question was around 16 years old then and didn't look very sharp in my eyes. But was shocked me was, in less than 24 hours he was in possession of the phone, he already deleted all my media files and replaced them with his. He also ensured all apps and settings were locked. All these was possible because I didn't bother using any lock feature on my phone, I only enabled find my device from my Mi account. The plan was if anybody steals the phone, he/she won't need to flash the phone to use it, just delete my files and move on. That was, I can even allow the person to use the phone for like a week before tracking him or her down.
To my amazement, the plan worked, the thief did not flash the phone, he just deleted by files but he was smart enough to ensure that he didn't use the phone with any sim or with any connectivity to the internet. He later confessed that he was planning to sell off the phone as scrap. Nowadays, many times, stolen phones are torn apart and the parts sold off to avoid any form of tracking.

But would that fulfil my goal?
Assuming the thief is not wise as to use the phone like that and you still have the carton of your phone ( for the imei number) then the police can use that to track the phone.

I mentioned 4k...
Not here for argument, then you shouldn't have mentioned the screen size since it is not necessary.

If you want to know what data gulping is... Try Netflix 4k on 88 TV 😂
But screen size does not affect data consumption.

What if I delete the phone from my Mi cloud?
Means you'll no longer be able to control the phone remotely.

stephinnoyewole:
They keep removing my comments, dont know why ooo
Now I understand what you want. In summary, you want to use the stolen phone as a bait to catch the thief right?
You cannot logout your mi account from the device remotely. Assuming lost mode was enabled and you didn't turn on screen lock (either by password or fingerprint), then your best bet would have been to just retrieve your sim(s) and allow the thief to use the phone. That way it would be easy to achieve what you want. But even at that, if anyone makes an attempt to flash the phone or even do a factory reset, the phone will be locked and will be difficult to track too.

Irrespective of the longevity or how long it last what can you say about the selection
They are all budget devices so don't expect too much from them. If you are cool with Xos, consider the Infinix hot 60i.

It will be difficult for you to get answers to your questions. How long a phone lasts depends largely on how you handle it. A friend used a Google Pixel 9 pro xl for only about a month; now phone is dead because of an accident.

Good morning, thank you so much for your support and your professional advice. Though I may not be able to give you battery life in term of percentage, I can guarantee that the battery performance is still okay.
However, if replacing the battery will get the issue fixed, I'll explore the option. My only concern is that what have in the market are fake batteries.
Since you are in Lagos contact @Igemburg. He should be able to help you out.

Though the screen has been once replaced, that was long before this issue started. I gave it to a phone repairer in Ikeja after every attempt to make it work failed. The first time this happened, the guy opened the back glass and did one or before the phone came back on. He's been trying the same thing ever since, but the phone has refused to load past that MI page .
The rubber band was used to hold the back glass in place so it doesn't fall of.
How is the battery life of your phone like? Still ok? It's possible a new battery might just fix it.

Good morning everyone.
My Xiaomi Mi note 10 is stuck on the "Mi " screen and won't load to homepage. It's been like that for more than 2 weeks now.

I sent it to the Redmi office on Awolowo road, Ikeja, but they couldn't do anything. It's currently with a phone repairer in Ikeja.
What is the genesis of the whole matter? It's looking like the screen just got replaced.

My charger has developed a weird problem. The charger can't charge my phone or earbuds using a usb c cable, it flat out doesn't work. At first I suspected something was wrong with the usb cable but I've tested it across multiple charger and even laptop and it works. The charger also works, I've tested it with micro usb cable and it worked perfectly. It just seems to not work with usb c anymore. Has anyone encountered such a problem before?
Both chargers and usb c cable are OEM by the way.
Have you tested another usb C cable with the charger? If it doesn't work, just buy a new charger.

I belive you meant Redmi note 9s. Try the default compass and see if it works. This looks like a hardware issue particular to your device.

But once I want to login they'll ask me to unofficial WhatsApp

Same app I download from Play store

Kindly help please
That's what this thread is all about, your rom is seen as not official that's why this is happening. I don't think there is a way out unless you find a way to root the phone and flash some files.

My Ogas

Which one will be a good phone to upgrade to coming from Realme GT NEO 2

Redmi Turbo 4 pro
Oppo K13 turbo pro
Realme GT 7 China
Iqoo Neo 10pro plus
Oneplus Ace 5 Ultra

All have similar screen sizes which am comfortable with and large battery too.

Where i have problems deciding is their camera lens and Os experience

Xiaomi and Realme no be stranger to me.

Oneplus and Oppo has similar OS experience with Realme, my main concern is Funtouch OS

Thanks
It seems you have settled for the Iqoo Neo 10pro plus but your concern is in the os. I take it that you are someone who likes to explore. I don't see anything to be afraid of with the os, afterall it has one of the best processors available on any smart phone today.

Interestingly, the seller has 5 star reviews from buyers, that's why I ordered from him.

Again, yes the phone is old (running android 10), but my plan was to unlock the bootloader and then flash the latest custom firmware on it (I already saw online quite a number of roms for the device). That's why I went for it, in addition to it's small size.
Nawa ooo, the average Chinese is not too different from the average Nigerian. It's better to just avoid getting used devices from China then. If not for strict regulations on the part of Aliexpress, many of us would have been burnt ; even at that, some sellers still find their way around being dubious.

One reason I'll never buy used xiaomi phones on Aliexpress again!

I ordered redmi 6 pro in March this year to support my RN13, only to discover that it's a Chinese version running on global Rom. All attempts to update the software to the latest version have failed.

Besides, the device also fails product authentication test from Xiaomi, and when I contacted seller to know why I couldn't update the software and sign into Xiaomi account, his response was: "don't try to update the phone by yourself". At that point, and after much findings into the matter, I realised that na ẹbu seller con send give me.
That device is old sha. But some of those so called used phones on AliExpress have had some parts replaced by their previous owners. If you read reviews you'll see so many complaints. If you must buy used on AliExpress, ensure the seller is highly recommended from user reviews.

Thanks so much for ur advice. I really appreciate. Concerning the battery life, if I'm buying, I'm not buy a used one. On the price, I'm seeing 400/450 on AliExpress. Thanks once again 👍🏽
You won't get a new one anywhere! It's better you buy used from trusted sellers here, at least you'll get one with Global rom. The ones on AliExpress are used and some have Chinese roms flashed. You better check the description of items you buy on AliExpress, some sellers are dubious.

Doesn't make the phone trashy, simply do a factory reset and you'll be fine. Even flagship models from Samsung have had issues like this before. For the price of the Redmi 14c, is there any other device you have in mind that you don't consider as waste of money?
