Section 308 says you can't initiate court proceedings against a sitting governor. It doesn't say you cannot enter the governor's residence to arrest a fugitive.

This is why history books are important. People did not accuse Obasanjo of yorubanisation. In fact he was accused of not giving enough appointments to people from his region because he wanted his government to be inclusive (which, objectively, was the correct thing).

Atk1nson:

The good thing is he paid by instalment.

In the normal course of business, title is not transferred until full payment is made.

So even if you made a commitment to sell to him upon (full) payment, the fact that you rescinded the decision before he made full payment puts you in the green.

However, if he can prove he did borrow to make that purchase, you may owe him the interest on the loan as he took the loan because you gave him a legitimate expectation that the car could be his.

However, if he has made full payment, that becomes tricky as you are reneging on a verbal contract and should compensate him well for the inconvenience

Lol. That’s not the correct position at all. The deal was struck the moment that the seller agreed to start receiving payment in instalments from the buyer. If the buyer had stopped paying the seller would have been entitled to go to court and seek what is called an order of specific performance.

Imagine if you paid for a house off plan and have been paying all your milestone instalments on time, then the developer comes and says he’s not selling to you again then returns your money and goes to sell the same house to someone who has offered him more money than you. You would be entitled to go to court and get an order to force the seller to stick to the terms of the deal that was struck. .

I wonder what equation they used to arrive at that answer.

I don’t want to be negative and say Nigerians get what we deserve. Maybe BAT was right when he suggested that education is our only salvation.

-So this man is from Ikere Ekiti? That place is an epitome of poverty. When I last went there, the only storey building was a mud-house built by a photographer from Benin.

-Yoruber people should stop abandoning their villages. What I saw there was an eyesore. No toilets in most of the "houses". School self mchew!
I'm sure the people from Ikere Ekiti have enough politicians in government. They should look to them for development.

Family / Re: Families In Africa Act As If They Own You When You Make Money- Mikel Obi Laments by gr8child(m): 1:21pm On Nov 18, 2023
casualobserver:
I really dislike this guy. Are Nigerians the only footballers from poor backgrounds with family hanger-ons? Same thing happens with other African and South American footballers. They dont come on tv or radio selling out their own to please his white masters.

I don’t have a problem with what he said, I have a problem with him saying it to outsiders to get ratings.
O I has an inferiority complex with his stupid fake accent!
The thing about Nigerians is that when they are shamed for having bad character they start fighting the person that gave true criticisms instead of looking inwards and looking for how to change their ways for the better. If you are ashamed of someone exposing your people for their entitlement mentality then you need to face the people who are behaving badly not the poor man who is suffering it.

Jobless people for opposing Mikel's belief? I think you are wrong. I disagree with Mikel and I'm not jobless. I don't even know how to ask but I believe that nothing wrong in helping people most especially when you have the means
You read what he wrote and your takeaway was that he doesn’t help his family? What he complained about was inordinate and excessive demands. A person will carelessly have several children that he cannot properly provide for and be asking someone that planned his family with two children for money for naming, upkeep and school fees. Does that sound fair to you?

Family / Re: Families In Africa Act As If They Own You When You Make Money- Mikel Obi Laments by gr8child(m): 1:03pm On Nov 18, 2023
DonBenny77:
Of course you belong to your family. They own you. And it's your responsibility to make your family smile before you consider strangers. Build your family I'm not saying you must grant every request but try for your family because when you die na still that family go reciprocate. Some wealthy men impress the streets and let the family suffer then when they fall off in the future they can't sustain because the didn't empower family.
Mikel particularly is a stingy guy, compare him to Mane from Senegal in terms of being charitable. Mikel would rather spend millions on a whip for model than support his family.
Don't downplay family, family is everything

Na entitlement go kee you.

Politics / Re: Tribunal Dismisses Adebutu’s Petition For Referring To INEC Result As Purported by gr8child(m): 6:07pm On Sep 30, 2023
GeneralPula:
The solid ground upon which Mr Adebutu built his petition, according to the court, will no longer matter because the legal team referred to the figures as “purported.”

Haha..

He shot himself in the leg..

At the end of the day, lawyers have cashed out!

This is complete bullcrap sha. The word "purported" when used in legal processes merely means you are challenging the veracity or correctness of a statement, document or fact. The Tribunal Judges know that. This is the laziest election judgment I have ever seen.
Politics / Re: Tribunal Dismisses Adebutu’s Petition For Referring To INEC Result As Purported by gr8child(m): 6:04pm On Sep 30, 2023
Haba.

In a legal context, the term "purported" is often used to indicate that something is alleged or claimed to be true, but its veracity or authenticity is in question. It suggests that the validity of the statement or document is being challenged or disputed.
