1. Can someone please share a first hand review of First Consultant Hospital, Obalende? I have been using it for Ante-Natal and no issues so far, but i am still undecided about birthing there. I had a cerclage installed there and treatment have been ok so far.

Aside that, i think we are good over here. Oh, the waist pain has been intense...almost 30wks and i feel like I have been pregnant forever. May God continue to sustain us and our babies with good health.

Mine was below 3cm and also open. Also, i was spotting blood, which is what prompted my visit to the hospital in the first place. If you are not spotting and the pregnancy is by no means considered high risk, please dont think too much of this.

Pregnancy comes with a lot of uncertainties but by God's grace, we will overcome all of it and it will end in joy.

I want to know about this cerclage thing, at what length is it necessary, mine was 5-7cm from the last scan and the doctor said my cervix is okay.

You have been strong, keep hanging in there. All of it will be well worth it. by Gods grace.

I also got a cerclage installed at 15wks and it lasted only a few minutes - no pain whatsoever, and yes, its the uncertainty of what could happen after it am also dealing with (i wont use the word 'fear'). You are told to rest A LOT, no driving (to avoid any pressure), no standing for too long, no unnecessary stairs climbing, no rough sex (at least no penetrations - this is where you and your partner get creative *wink* etc... basically bedrest, if you can. All these are to keep the stitch around the cervix in place till you are at least around 38 or 39wks+ when it will again be removed via same process in preparation for birth (this time without any medication to numb you).

To put your mind at ease, you can check how things are at every antenatal visit via an abdominal scan - the sonographer will check to see that the stitch is still in place and cervix is still closed.

PS* - I have not had the luxury of all that prescribed 'rest' - I have a super active toddler and a busy work schedule with no help and its been fine so far without any issues by the grace of God only.

I just got back from the hospital this afternoon. I did the cerclage on Monday and I'm recuperating gradually. I'll leave the details for some other time.

I just can't seem to get the fear out of my mind. I'm always worried something might happen. I feel the pain more in my heart than in my body. The devil is really trying to steal my joy, but Jesus got me.

Please anybody that has gone through this experience should contact me so I can know how they pulled through.

Mama with this issue of throwing up, have you tried deworming her because it's every three months.
The cough can also be the cause.

First of all run another test to be sure infection is cleared. Once you confirm that try natural remedies. Chop Garlic & ginger, boil in a little water to get the juice out, plus honey to sweeten (since she is over 1 year old). Give her a spoonful every 6 hours. Continue your vitamin C. Also increase her consumption of fruits (pineapple is great for catarrh)

Hello Mummies,

Currently dealing with a 20months old toddler who is coughing and throwing up/ with a runny nose and almost zero appetite (P.S. She loves food).

She's taking lots of fluids but not food, when she eats a little...we prepare for a throwing up episode.

We were just treated in the hospital with antibiotics for a food poisoning and after using the follow-up medication for a few days, she was still throwing up so i stopped it and only using cough syrup and vitamins.

I will try the steam bath today. Any other ideas what to do?

We are in the same boat o. Sadly, i dont have easy access to it so most of the craving happens only in my head.

My concern recently is my restricted diet. The only foods i eat and ENJOY are plain noodles/egg and yam/egg or plain veg....and then sharwama crave.

This is IT. Everything else is like sawdust...am scared that i am ingesting just carbs/sodium, i even started researching about long term effects of this on my baby, fear....

Sharwama has a bit of different nutrients, protein (chicken or beef or sausage) and then veggies. More to worry about however is the hygiene, please only consume it freshly made and purchase from trusted vendors.

Good morning expecting mothers in the house.
Please i need any advice from the experts.
Its our first pregnancy and my there was blood fluid after sex with my wife about three days ago.
We went for check up, the doctor gave his medication and advice.
But the blood stain repeated yesterday and this morning.
Is she loosing the baby or is it one of the pregnancy symptoms?
She is 2months+ getting to 3months

Just feel some abdominal pressure , especially when i stand after sitting for sometime, waist pain and lots of headache too. Don't want to blow anything out of proportion, i know pregnancy comes with all kinds of 'feelings', guess its just one of those days.

I should probably take some days off work to try to rest, i don't even know how to rest sef..........biko, how do you guys tune off and really rest, emphasis on REALLY REST.

I have been counting down with this pregnancy, i can't wait for March 2020. God see us all through...

Hello Mummy, i totally feel you and really do wish you much brighter days in your journey. Please try not to physically look the way you feel, its easy to let go but PLEASE try (you can do it, i promise).

I am generally surprised when i find some pregnant women all bright and dandy throughout their journey (don't get me wrong, am most thankful to God for the miracle of conception and the eventual childbirth) because pregnancy is generally tough, this is my 2nd and its been 'interesting'.

However, on the flip side, PREGNANCY IS EASY for some women, infact, a breeze. So i just say, do what works for you, don't compare yourself to other women or your imaginations of what pregnancy should be. YOU ARE UNIQUE AND SO IS YOUR PREGNANCY.

Olabrinks (and any other Mummy who may feel this way), this is ONLY phase. There are much more exciting phases ahead...i wish you again much brighter days to come. Please be strong and always remember... this is ONLY a phase!

I looked in the mirror today and I cried.
I’m just feeling so down at the moment I don’t know if it’s hormones but I’m just feeling so out of it, like I just can’t recognise the human being in front of me. I know I should be grateful for this blessing but I feel I’m losing myself in the process. My face has become so much darker than the rest of my body, I’m adding weight at an extreme pace, I don’t want to go out anymore I don’t feel good in anything I wear. My lips are constantly peeling then I have all these dark spots on my face from the acne I had from the first trimester. I don’t have the energy to be myself, to do normal things, I’m just moody most of the time. I’m just thinking out loud though , and I hope I can feel better about myself as I continue this pregnancy. I’m not ungrateful.

This my craving takes a new dimension daily.I wish I live in Lagos where I used to get ofada rice and hot sauce,ekuru with enough pepper,ugba with abacha,ewa agonyin with ponmo,correct yam pottage made with soft onitsha yam chai pregnancy in Lagos was pure Bliss so many things I feel like eating but it's not accessible where I currently reside.This pregnancy isn't getting the petting it deserves o .
I have to cook anything I feel like eating and that takes the fun away,all the fine fine local foods I love to eat can only be found in town which is far away from the satellite town i live in the fct .

At the point of Entry the officer just asked my why am in canada, I said Visiting. He asked who?, what I do for a living & other random questions that has nothing to do with my pregnancy, don't think I spent more than 1 minute him.

This bill does not include seeing doc before & after delivery. I posted my bill to give a guideline, bills varies from the city u give birth, the doctor, type of delivery and also if there is complication.

I want to use this opportunity to thank Hotstepper for her assistance when applying for baby's Nigeria document. I wld HV applied for Nigerian Visa or passport for baby BT she explained to me that its not necessary. I should just apply for Emergency Travel Certificate for baby which is cheaper & faster.

However keep trying, try cold garri water, try juice but dilute with water, try soft drink but dilute with water, try custard or pap, try cereal with cold milk (all these are suggestions am exploring cos i also cant keep water down). Just keep trying...

Throwing up is tough, i know cos am currently in that boat but some of what you ingest will stay in while some will be thrown out. However keep trying till your body eventually adjusts.

Oh mama, so sorry about this pain.

Perhaps you can read the manual to be sure you are not using it at the highest intensity. I used Medela and it has a button to increase or decrease intensity. Also, please use the cream...it worked magic for me.

Please is electric breast pump supposed to be painful?

Ideally, No.

However, i found that pumping electronically without first applying some nipple cream was extremely painful for me. So i learnt not to pump while the nipples are dry. First apply a nipple cream (Lasinoh brand, or anything with Lanolin ingredient). It is safe for baby and all natural.

Oh Mama, i feel ya!

I have an equally hyper-active 14month old GIRL who cant sit still, almost like you described "as if she on an errand" - we have moved things around and always shut doors behind us.

However, once we back her tightly, she will doze off in less than 15mins.

In their defense, this is the stage for this kinda attitude, My SIL runs a sch and says its perfectly NORMAL so please don't worry, its not a medical condition (i thought it might be).

If you can back him yourself, please do, then stack pillows and lie down on your tummy with him backed. If not, please find someone to back him.

May God reward us with peace of mind with these children.

Mamas pls help out b4 I run back to my father's house.....my DS of 14mons doesn't sleep during d day. I mean dis guy can so play and disturb and no matter what u do, he won't take a midday nap! Yesterday I noticed he was having temperature so I said no school for him, let me watch him so I can take him to hospital if need be, so I called his school to chill till Monday and I also called work! Alas, I use my own hand find trouble ni sha. Lil guy was just moving around d whole house, from sitting room to kitchen, bathroom, rooms, practically everywhere in our small crib, scattering things. I've had cough for days so I got emzolyn syrup yesterday, I noticed it made me feel sleepy but my guy no gree me sleep, my eyes feels so heavy due to denied sleep. Dis guy can walk for hours without feeling it, always coming and going as if he's on errand, at times I feel tempted and beat him or back him to make him sleep but it doesn't work. MIL do complain dat her grandson is too lekpaish, I wonder how he won't be with his various activities and everyone around thinks I should be expecting another baby soon! How can? Aswear dis 14mon old can kick belle out of someone. Mamas pls, how can I handle an hyper active toddler? How can I make him sleep during d day as well? Pls I need help...

But even with using all these please try to do only protective hair styles for her (weaves and attachment are a big NO, adding relaxer or texturizer too)
