I guess the fact that there's now priority Visa is partly responsible for the delay. They're prolly prioritizing theirs and pushing standard applicants behind. However, it'll definitely end in praise by God's Grace |

Timel line Application Date: 18th August 2020 Biometrics Date (Walk-in VI Centre): 20th August 2020 1st Interview (At TLS Contact): 20th August 2020 Received mail from visa office on 3rrd September that application not straight forward ( Still wondering what that means) 2nd Interview (Phone call): 8th September 2020 Passport collection mail: 11th September 2020 Passport Collected: 14th September 2020
I don't really know how to write much but I will give a download of my journey so far.
Decision to study came in April after a month in lock down. I just told myself that I must achieve something during this lockdown. So the inspiration came to me to look into studying in the UK. I asked here about nursing and someone advised that I go for post graduate degree in adult nursing. Lo and behold, I started contacting schools, but one of the school agents was very frank with me that I am not likely going to get a place in Nursing, due to the fact that my degree was in ccomputer-mathematics and the class of degree was not fantastic, coupled with the fact that I don't really have an experience in the care sector. So I came to a conclusion that since I am a teacher, why not try to further my career in teaching. So I started looking into teacher training in the UK. I applied to about six schools through UCAS TT, was rejected by 5 schools. the last school decided to consider me for interview. It was during the interview that grace started speaking for me. I was offered a place in PGCE primary with maths. Na so the journey began... part of the conditions to be met was GCSE equivalence in English. This was because my degree was over 10 years. I started studying for this exam, and I finally wrote the exam and passed. So my conditional offer turned unconditional, after meeting other conditions like the occupational health check and police report. Now to CAS application - another struggle entirely... After passing the pre-CAS interview, the CAS refused to come. Therefore, after disturbing their international office, they linked me up with one of their agents that deal with their Nigerian students. This agent was very helpful. He practically had to start disturbing the CAS team in order to get my CAS, which later came out by August 14. After submitting application on line on 18th August, to now get appointment for biometrics was difficult, but I later got for 30th September; for a course that will start 2nd September. Well I went for walk-in as advised by the agent (20th August). That day was not it at all (shake my head). The attendants just decided not to take walk in again (after travelling all the way down to Lagos only to be told no walk-in again). Come and see as I dey pray ehn. Long story short sha... they decided to be asking for resumption date and date of appointment. I just shouted "my resumption date is 2nd September." They asked for my CAS, which I showed them, and also my appointment date. I was now allowed with another guy whose resumption was 7th September. My interview there was brief, was asked just 4 questions, and that was all. Fastforward (two weeks later)... 3rd September - Deferred – complex mail. Whatever that means. As if that was not all, I just received a call from the home office Tuesday morning asking for another interview (see me see wahala) - after asking my school to extend my enrolment deadline; classes had started and annoyingly I couldn't access the course materials because I was not enroled due to the fact that I don't have a visa. We sha had the interview. The interviewer asked me about 12 questions, ranging fro why I chose the course, to how I got the funds, my current job, my hubby's job, my relatives in the UK, what they do, their status, my future plans, how I would go about it, and so on. Omo come and see panicking and nervousness. The interview actually threw me off balance. When the passport collection mail dropped, my heart just skipped at that moment cos I didn't know what to think again. I didn't even believe I would be granted, even while collecting my passport until I saw the acccompanying letter. Above all, it has ended in praise for me.
All glory, honour and adoration belong to GOD ALMIGHTY. No one can share His glory Congratulations |

mimilyrics: It's better to leave it blank or state that it's forgotten than to say that you don't have. NIs don't go dormant, they are valid through an individual's lifetime. Not having a corresponding ID doesn't mean that it can't be traced since you'll have to list all the names that you've been known by. HMRC can usually be contacted about forgotten NIs but it takes some days to get a response from them. What about National Identity Card? I said I don't have because I dont, I just have the NIN slip but I haven't gotten the card yet? @mimilyrics |

duchess90: Just to add to what @mimilyrics said and I agree with her advice.
I know a friend who is a pharmacist, recently finished his master's distinction, got the license and all.But during the interview, he focused on the reason he wanted to do a Master's and that was developing his career path. He didn't necessary have to say stay back and get a job or get license to practice in the UK
Again, those are back end plans, the interview should be more about the front end plans.
Let her answer be about her career development and not the place per say.you might also get a good job in the US or the EU. So why limit yourself to the UK?
Just saying,focus on the now.
P.S forgive my typo Cheers Alright. Thanks a lot @duchess90 |

mimilyrics: Oh okay. Will you be getting your license as part of your course or you've got to write the exams separately? Is your course a pre-registration training? Is passing your GPhC a requirement for your course or after your course? Is your course an OSPAP course? Sorry if I mixed up the terms, I'm not a pharmacist Yes. Ospap is my course. And after the one year masters/Ospap, we'll get to do the preregistration training after which we'll write the Gphc licensing examination. @mimilyrics are you a health professional? I'm surprised you know about Ospap |

mimilyrics: I'd advise you not to say that as it makes it seem like you'd planning to study as a means to migrate to the UK.
Even though the PSW will be launched from next summer, if you say this, you would be asked about expected pay and why/how you think that you'd definitely get a job in the UK after your studies. There are a lot of specifics or near-specifics that you might be asked for based on your response so I'd advise you not to make your application complicated.
If you were planning to enrol on another course after your Masters (i.e. a PhD), that would be understandable as long as you know what know what course that would be in even though that might change along the line.
Outside of working in the UK after your studies, what other plans do you have? Or is that the only plan you have? Thank you @mimilyrics. However, the program I'm going for is one that'll enable me get licensed to practice as a pharmacist in the UK. So that's basically what the program is all about and I'm certain I'll get jobs there once I'm done and I've passed the qualification examination. I believe I'll find it easier to express myself saying this especially as regards to why I chose the course. What's your opinion please? |

Please, I'll like to confirm. During my interview, is it really bad to say I intend to work in the UK after my studies. Do I have to say I plan to come back to Nigeria after my studies? @mimilyrics |

Tajudeen40: [I think you should go and apply in the us quote author=twojul post=93100352]Hello everyone. Please is there a way to know the available dates for biometrics appointment for UK visas before submitting your application? I’ve got an unused US visa that expires at the end of next month and I want to travel to the US next month for 2 weeks before the visa expires but I’m worried that when I submit my UK application online the biometrics dates will be too far like maybe 2 weeks ahead. Then before I add the time they’ll hold my passport my US visa will have expired. So please how can I see the available biometrics dates before clicking submit. Thank you. Hello. If you have friends that applied with the different centers, you can ask them to check for you by clicking 'amend appointment' on their dashboards. They'll just log in and view but they don't need to click any dates. I hope this helps. |

mimilyrics: You will have to find out at TLS. I know that the 3rd party option is available for family applications, for under-18s and some other applications but I'm not sure if you will be able to do that. If you will be able to do that, you will need to submit an authorisation letter / form available via ( https://static.tlscontact.com/media/global/ww/uk/rep_passport_pickup.pdf ), copy of your ID and a copy of your representative's valid ID when you go in for your biometrics appointment. Alright, thank you so much |
