Hi all!
My sister got PPR on friday!
I handled all her application process as I did mine also (2020) Her timeline is attached below. It was quite a frustrating process because her classes started second week of September and they required her to be around. They almost canceled her seat as she wasn’t able to do registration without study permit. I contacted the MP and they said security and background check has been passed but eligibility is yet to start. We decided to risk it by paying 3k Cad part of tuition. So we started sending mails and pleading with the school for more time because there’s no option for deferral and the $500 confirmation fee will be forfeited. She was eventually allowed to register and did the online portion of her classes. I was so stressed even mine wasn’t this stressful because I got medical request 6days after I submitted my application, even before biometrics.
Documents submitted are:
*SOP
*Birth certificate of her family
*Marriage certificate
*Sponsor's statement of account (8m)
*Sponsor's letter
*Sponsor's supporting documents (house and business documents)
*Her Business registration
*Family photos
*her statement of account (less than 100k)
*School admission letter
*School confirmation letter
*Passport page
Passport photo
*Ig business page
*University transcript (2006)
*O’level result
*business Certifications
*Police character
-IELTS result (non NSE but she had a valid result)
- declaration of age (she’ll be 40 next month)
She’s going for a diploma program
She did upfront medicals and her biometrics 2weeks after application submission.
*Home ties was established using her 3kids, husband and business.

It can only be God and I pray everyone waiting gets a positive decision. It really is not easy and not for the faint hearted. Can’t wait to reunite with her!
A big congratulations to you and your family.

Please gracedson....

I'm planning to visit rwanda for 12 days or so, and when I check the locator form, is like there is a mandatory hotel quarantine for like 24hrs or so in Kigali till my covid airport test result is out right?

And please can I just book my 12days Hotel stay and quarantine in it till the result will be out?
Or is it strictly by government protocol?

Please can you shed more light, this will be my first visit to rwanda.

In addition pls
Rwanda is visa on arrival right? That's, pay at the arrival airport....
If yes, how much is it?

Thanks
Yes you will have to quarantine for 24hrs in one of those hotel stated on the Locator form and Yes also, you can book your 12days in the same hotel where you quarantine, in fact that is how I did mine, I stayed at Onomo hotel, that’s where I quarantined and that is where I stayed throughout my Stay.

Rwanda is Visa on arrival, you are not paying anything, they issues you 30 days validity Visa upon arrival.
Make sure you book hotel before coming, the immigration might ask for your quarantine plan, So you just show have to show him your Hotel booking Confirmation receipt. (You don’t have to pay for booking online, you can pay at check-in)

Hello,
I’m seeing the discussion concerning PTA.

The best option is to have a family member open an account at globus bank when you have travelled. Then they’d request for pta for a relative , they’d act as your sponsor. They’d get it at CBN rate.

I know many people that have done it and I am in the process of doing it.

I also her that keystone bank does something similar.
Oh really, that’s interesting.

PTA: Personal Travel Allowance

It's access to 4k USD to travellers at CBN rate (usually way cheaper than buying from Aboki). You apply with your stamped passport and tickets.

Before this recent news (I don't believe it yet ), you can only access it by booking a 2way ticket.

Alright my bro, thank you, baba fire grin

Good afternoon, Nairalanders,

I have a quick question. While filling out the consent form for GCMS notes application, is one expected to fill the parts that are in three columns with the figures and headings: "2.1-2.3 Related Individual's Information"?—that is, after filling the required details of the applicant and those of their representative in Canada.

Please, I need an urgent response from the gurus here. I want to apply for my GCMS notes right away.

Thanks in advance.
No, fill only the Applicant’s part (Section 2).

PTA-personal travel allowance- needed when you want to travel .

PTA are currency exchange schemes specifically set up for Nigerians traveling abroad .

Thank you for the explanation.
I supposed there will be a receipt after using it, So
Is it cheaper than using Bureau De change ?
Is it compulsory one uses the PTA ?
Will Immigration at the POE ask for the PTA ?
Can I show cash I got from Beareu De change as my Travel allowance ? (you know it doesn’t mostly have receipts or recognized receipt)

PTA IS PERSONAL TRAVEL ALLOWANCE. YOU GET DOLLAR FROM THE BANK WHEN YOU HAVE A VALID VISA AND RETURN FLIGHT TICKET FROM THE BANK. FEW DAYS AGO SOME FEW BANKS RENEGOTIATED THEIR CONDITIONS FOR PURCHASE OF BTA OR PTA AND NIGERIAN STUDENTS CAN NOW BUY PTA WITH A SINGLE TICKET BUT FLIGHT MUST BE MORE THAN 5 HRS.
PEACE
Oh okay, thank you for your response, So is it more cheaper compared to Aboki FX ?

PPR Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, it has ended in praise!!!
To the glory of God, the “container” of my wife’s PPR just landed safely in the harbor of her email address on 10/09/2021. The feeling is better to experience than to imagine. I pray for as many who are desirous of this experience that God who did it for my wife will remember you in the name of Jesus. Amen!
Frankly speaking, it has not been an easy journey but I’m glad how the good Lord has helped us thus far. The story behind this Canada dream is a very long one. I will try to abridge our story just to encourage someone here. By the God’s grace, we will surely share the full story someday.
I don’t know the stage at which you are on your journey, please I want to encourage you to believe God, do your best, (Do your research, read as much as you can, ask questions where necessary. There are tremendous resources and good people who are genuine and willing to help here), be positive and hope for the best. DON’T YOU EVER GIVE UP!
Background Hints:
• Application for LLM (Law) admission in University of Manitoba was refused in 2014.
• Canada visitor’s visa (family) application was refused in 2015.
• An active Express Entry profile with CSR score of 441 which kept crashing after every birthday.
• Received SINP ITA with 68 points on 03/11/20 and submitted application for nomination on 22/12/20 and nomination wasn’t forthcoming (If you are conversant with SINP process, you know it’s a story for another day).
• Wife’s age is 41 years.
• 12 years’ post-graduation gap.
• Wife had a baby in Canada with a tourist visa.
In view of obvious realities before us, my wife and I knew that only God can make this dream a reality. Therefore, we changed strategy and reconsidered the study visa route again.
Timeline for study visa application
Applied to MSVU for master’s degree in public relations on 04/11/2021
Received admission for master’s degree in public relations on 14/12/2020.
We delayed the study visa application with hope that SINP nomination will drop (unfortunately, it hasn’t dropped even now). But we eventually made up our minds to submit our application in the second week of March, 2021 through NSE route in order to meet September Fall intake. Hence, the need for upfront medical with MBS and IELTS with hope that application will be processed faster within the 20 calendar days as promised then by IRCC.
Upfront medicals in IOM Ikeja on 09/03/2021.
Request for additional medical required for TB on 9/03/2021
Additional medical required done on 10/03/2021.
I was not afraid of the TB test because since we got married for more than 10 years now, there has never been any case/symptoms of TB in our family. I thought the TB test result will be out in few days. But my morale was down when I was told that the test result takes about 10-12 weeks (about 3 months) to come out. That’s time for the result to be out and not for the treatment assuming the result comes out positive. She was told by one the nurses in IOM not to submit her visa application until the TB test result comes out.
Somehow, when we heard the information that visa applications submitted before 15/05/21 will receive a decision by IRCC by 06/08/2021, we decided to prayerfully package our application. I reached out to Mr. Frank (@Frankrobbn1) who edited my wife’s SOP. We submitted on 14/05/2021.
Study Visa application Submitted on 14/05/2021
Appointment with IOM recommended TB specialist on 10/06/2021.
The TB specialist told my wife that there was nothing to worry about from the TB test result. The result was negative. Praise God. Miracle number one!
Informed by IOM via SMS that her medical result has been re-submitted to IRCC on 16/06/2021.
Then the deafening sileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!by IRCC. No eligibility review started. No update on biometrics from previous tourist visa application which is still valid. No ghost update. No real update. Except the standard “we are processing your background check” which has been there from the day application was submitted. If you don’t see/observe any significant movement on your application. Please, don’t be negative because behind the scene, the invisible hands of the almighty God may be pulling strings and orchestrating events in favor of your application as He did in my wife’s own.
As the long deafening and worrisome silence continued and became unbearable. I reached out to Mr. Frank (@Frankrobbn1) who advised that my wife should start sending incessant emails to IRCC Web form-Nairobi, lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca and nrobi-immigration@international.gc.ca for an update on her application.
Medical examination passed on 10/09/2021
PPR container landed safely on 10/09/2021
Appreciation: Firstly, we give all glory and honor to the great and awesome God, the King of kings and Lord of lords who made it to end in praise. I want thank everyone for input on this platform. Special thanks to Madam Faith (@Faithyyyyy) for your support and your role in connecting me to Mr. Frank (@Frankrobbn1) whose professional touch/reviews on my wife’s SOP/application was phenomenal.

Nah sooooo, congratulations.

Alhamdullilah it has ended in praise for me.
This journey has been on for me since 2019 after leaving highschool but I thank God that it has finally ended.
My original destination was the US but my mom didn't want it because of gun violence and we had no family in the US so we settled for Canada. I applied for admission to University of Manitoba since that's where my sister was and got admission since November 2019. Unfortunately that was when the wait now started. cheesy
An immigration lawyer was introduced to my mom who charged 1000 dollars which we paid almost immediately. But this stupid woman didn't do anything for more than a year saying covid and many other rubbish. She only wrote sop and that was even when I almost changed it for her.
Fast forward sha, come December 2020, I couldn't take it anymore I fought with my mom about it so that we can use anothe person. She refunded the money and we decided to us another licensed consultant (A3 immigration). All through, my admission for UOM expired which I reapplied for another admission. I also applied to Thompson rivers university and university of Lethbridge and got admitted into all of them. I also wrote IELTS in January and got 8.0 overall band score. Then I applied for my first visa on March 31st, 2021. Omo I was so happy but as God will have it, it was refused on June 9 and the gcms notes didn't state any particular reason. My consultant adviced that the refusal was a mistake and we should reapply instead of judicial review to save time for fall intake. So I reapplied on June 24 with a complete application and by God's grace it ended in praise today.
Timeline:
First application:
Submission: march 3, 2021
Biometrics: April 6,2021
Upfront medical: August 2020
NSE request: April 14. Submitted IELTS so I sent only MBS and it was acknowledged on April 19.
Refusal: June 9,2021 a few days after I ordered my gcms notes.

Second application
Submission and confirmation: June 24, 2021
No NSE request.
Medicals: I saw how fast the slots where filling up so I booked for August 12 as my previous medical would expire August 9.
Ppr and bvl: around 8:45 a.m today on September 17, 2021.
Documents submitted
All imm forms.
Sop drafted by me and also a LOE tackling my previous refusal reasons.
My sponsors (mom) account statement for both personal and business accounts with closing balance of 25m.
Property valuation of one of my mom's house.
Also landed properties.

I didn't really do much, it was all done by our consultant. Omo yesterday my mom and I even went to buy dollar because of the present exchange rate and I also changed the pounds I had with me to order my gcms notes (My mom didn't want me to order for it because she thought that was why my first one was refused grin). All this was just yesterday. Man I'm still surprised.

Walahi I fasted till I couldn't fast again. In fact I fasted yesterday. It wasn't easy but I am grateful to God it has ended in praise.
I pray everyone waiting also experience this good feeling I'm going through. I am also grateful to this wonderful forum which I got to know about in May while I was waiting for my first application. I'm grateful and will continue to be for all the help your people have offered us.

And to my fellow Nairalanders who were refused, especially @oreoluwapo and @jfrazzy, please I am begging do not relent. The refusal is just a delay not denial. And I pray it ends in praise for you very soon. Thank you once again and please pardon my long story.

I will be sending my passport for stamping on Monday Insha Allah.
Congratulations to you

Please do you mean you only printed pahe 2 of the consent or page 3? so u didn't include the rest right? and the address is what you had in your application or where passport is being returned to?

I printed all the copies of the Consent form twice, but only signed page 2. For the address you will have to write down the address you want DHL to bring it to.

Thanks again bro.
The attached is the requirement given to me via mail by IRCC. For the 2 copies of consent form, it is not stated. Do you think I should go ahead to add that?

Also for the stapled papers during biometrics, not stated do you think I will need it?

NB: I actually applied under Family class but I always stay to get info here so please advise accordingly.

Thank you and thanks to everybody contributing massively to this thread.
That was how I sent mine and it was under Study class, I have no idea about the Family class but I supposed it should be the same process.
