Yes, the US has suspended the immigrant visa for Nigerians but some are still getting approved under the conditions of being granted a waiver.

The US Government has suspended all types of immigrant visas or visas that might lead to permanent residences for Nigerians. K1 visa is one of those visa types that leads to permanent residency so as of today, Nigerians are unable to apply for those.

Getting a visa for the sole purpose of childbirth has also been restricted. Goodluck.

Okay, a friend fiancé is a US citizen they have known each other for 11years now,dated wayback late make up last year & he visited 9ja January & has return back to US. okay, she just find out she's pregnant & Dude is saying she will come over to US for delivery of their child. Her worries is between K1 & medical visa that B1 which is advisable for her to apply?? Also, can she get k1 before she will 7months gone? Please advise us on the best route to take.. I applied few days after you 22nd to be precise! processing time in July from 19th to 26th processing time was 45days. I guess is normal for your passport to be ready for collection by now! also, I collected my passport today though wasn't pleasant but vacation must hold here there or else where.Lolz.. Guys i just got an email stating that my processed passport is ready for collection, i summited my application via paper route on 19/07/19 and this email was sent today 09/09/19. I'm nervous cos is not up to 72 days which is the normal days for visa processing. Pls what does this signify?

Yup the final whistle has been blown I & my daughter were refused visa, I picked up our passport from VFS today my little concern is, I wasn't given reason for Refusal, like generic Reasons people shared here before applying for GCMS for clarification. All I got with my passport back was a slip saying if email is not correct kindly mail us @bla bla bla please any clue about the slip will be appreciated house.. Also my application was paper route! Best of luck to others expecting good news on their visa. PS, I submitted as many documents stated here on regular bases! Marriage and every other detailed supporting documents. Alhamudiillah

This is the first time am seeing been process. though I've been using the tracking ID sent to me via SMS to check it, right now I used the one on the receipt as said by you.. .Please what does the been processed means sir?? It should track. You are not using the right information. Pls go back to the tracking page of vfs to track pls. Use the tracking id on the receipt you got from vsf when you submitted.

I must say this is indeed a precarious situation. IRCC do not have provision for people withdrawing their passport before decision is made. The only option is to cancel your application. I copied below from VFS website to further explain my point:



How do I withdraw my International Passport?

If you wish to withdraw your passport, you are required to withdraw your application.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp states the average number of working days taken to process an application. If you wish to withdraw your International Passport before your application is finalized, then you are required to withdraw your application. Please follow these steps:

Send an email directly to lagos.immigration@international.gc.ca
With "URGENT - I wish to withdraw my application" on the subject line.
The email address of the sender must match that of the clients email on the application or the request will not be actioned.

The DHCC will initiate the withdrawal of your application and the return of your international passport to the VAC within 4 working days.

Please check the status of your application on www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/nigeria

Visa application and eventually issuance is not a right, if one gets denied, they take it that way and try again some other time. Those that got theirs approved don't have two heads neither does it make all denied applicants dunce.

In addition, CIC uses both PROJECTED and HISTORICAL methods to calculate processing times.

PROJECTED is based on the number of current applications and how quickly they can process 80%. This system is used for PR applications. 

HISTORICAL is based on how long it took to process 80% of applications in the past. TRV falls under this category. 

According to data available from 2017-2018, CIC didn't meet the 80% target. They were only able to meet 66% of which 4/5 was around 22days processing time.
