6 years you said?
If its 6 years, all those foods items are perishable if not properly kept, it will go bad, though he doesn't have right to touch your things without your permission.
But you traveled for 6 years and expect to meet those foods item in that house? House that you gave someone the key....

We have known each other for about 6 years plus. I was away from home for two months
Family / Re: How A Friend Betrayed My Trust by GravityDefier: 1:03pm On Oct 07, 2023
@dawnomike 😁, a little wouldn't have bothered me. Just within two months

Dude needed to eat but not emptying my foodstuffs.

@Stevenbright No agreement to clean the house. The spare key was just in case of emergency.

@gaius01 I didn't tell him what to touch and what not to. He asks me whenever I'm around but taking it without my notice is what pissed me off

@kernniejay He saw the disappointment in my tone already

@vincenteger I've already taken my keys
Family / How A Friend Betrayed My Trust by GravityDefier: 6:36am On Oct 07, 2023
I traveled and handed my keys to a close friend. We've known each other for over 6 years. Left behind some raw food items (rice, beans and garri) and provisions (indomie, milk, honey, custard etc).

I couldn't believe my eyes that my food items and provisions were exhausted. He would clean the house and whenever it was time to leave he would go with food items. My bag of rice wasn't left out, what is left is less than two custards of rice. Wait πŸ€”, did he sell my rice? All these without even informing me and I'm not even dead o 😲. All these just within two months.

Some friends are just leeches and opportunists. Am I alone in this boat or someone has done similar thing to you?

Resigned just like that?

Bank 1: I was debited in March 2023 after making purchase with my ATM at a Point of Sale. My bank gave me 7 working days but till date nothing yet after several mails to remind them.

Bank 2: I tried to make a withdrawal in early December 2022 at two ATM machines but the machines had no cash and I was debited. My bank gave me 14 working days. I've been to the bank for about four times plus series of mails.

From 7 working days now going to 7 months and from 14 working days now more than 9 months.
Bankers in the house, how do you guys count your working days?

How did you get your money back if you had same predicament as mine?

Anything that makes the politicians to wail as I also wail is a welcome development. Nigerians have been wailing for the past seven years and they were ok with it. Tell me why I should be concerned now that I've found politicians wailing alongside me.
Political election valentine love. Nigerians are wiser.

Thanks for this. It's very clear now
Jogs1900:

Since you have the letter of administration from court with you, take it to another branch of the branch or their head office....When you are submitting, make sure you make copy of the documents you are giving them. They bank will acknowledge it by either time stamping it or putting their receive stamp on it.(It will have name of the receiving officer, the time you submit it and the date)That's how you treat official documents. If they fail to act on it at this point for days, they can be sued and pay for damages. After that leave the rest for them...They will advise you on the next steps...You don't have any business with the court again...It's the bank that has business with the court by confirming if the documents you brought is not a forged one..By administrators,I mean all the beneficiaries listed on the letter of administration.

Let me ensure I get you clear => So I will take the letter of administration to the bank's head office and they will give me an ACKNOWLEDGEMENT copy. Then I'll take this ACKNOWLEDGEMENT copy to the court and court will do confirmation. I will then be asked to open an estate account (the bank has opened an estate account for me since July). Please shed more light into this your statement "Its compulsory you go with all the administrators to the bank too"
Jogs1900:

If you are in Lagos, take it to their head office or another branch of the bank different from where you've been before, collect ACKNOWLEDGEMENT copy from them.
After confirmation from the court ,They will to ask you to open an ESTATE ACCOUNT in the name of your late dad or issue a MANAGERS CHEQUE in the name of your dad.Confirmation from court is usually between a week and 2 weeks. Its compulsory you go with all the administrators to the bank too.MAKE SURE YOU COLLECT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT COPY PLS.Once you collect acknowledgement copy, nobody will seat on your money not even the bank MD.We await your update please.

Yes, letter of administration from probate
Jogs1900:

What kind of document did you get from the court? Is it letter of administration from probate registry?

It is not a big cash. Hundreds of thousands but less than 1m in that particular account because he didn't even liked the services of the bank.

I needed a catchy headline. Do you mean taking the bank to court?
youngmd:
Op the headline is misleading.inheritance should not be regarded as"my own "as if u worked for it.

I think u should revisit the court
Crime / My Bank Is Owing Me For Almost 2 Years. What Is The Best Action To Take? by GravityDefier: 10:01am On Oct 02, 2022
Greetings to all Nairalanders.
I'm going to be brief.
There is this old generation bank (I don't want to mention their name here) that was tied to my dad's salary account. When he died, there was some money inside and I started working for them to disburse this money. I've met all their requirements of going to court, doing newspaper publication, taken his burial poster to the bank etc. They've gone to my hometown for verification and all the rest but can you believe that this month of October will make it two years since I've been working for this stuff and this bank hasn't released the money yet. They come up with very annoying flimsy excuses. My brother has been calm since but when he asked me about it last week and I told him "No show yet", he fumed on the phone and told me to leave them that when he returns he will take his men to the bank to deal with them (he is a military man). I know what my brother can do when someone gets on his nerves. Which higher authority can I report to because I don't even have chance in my new place of work for fruitless movements like this. Can I report the bank to CBN or something? Advice needed please.

This is not a period to be distracted by anything. So I thought we could incorporate our OBIdience into this show viewed my hundreds of thousands of Nigerians. Whilst sending your comments to the show which will be displayed at the bottom of the TV screen for all to see, always add the hashtag #Obi-Datti2023 at the end of your comments. I think this will as well keep us in focus. Let's take back our Nigeria #Obi-Datti2023.

I went to visit my parents at old Port Harcourt Township and discovered that they've had constant electricity this weekend. They've had nothing less than 46 hours of electricity in the last 48 hours and still counting. Same thing in my area, although my area has more of electricity than where my parents stay. My fridge's opening almost always refuses me easy openings these days. Have you noticed any electricity improvement in your area over the weekend? Reporting from PH. Pls share yours
