Nonso23: As much i think it's a subjective opinion i quite agree with you. I also like to believe the reason is due to the societal contribution to the upbringing of the girl child. It's not strange to see a little girl playing with dolls, changing and making clothing for it, keeping the doll house clean and arranged and getting really concerned should her doll get as much as a surface scratch; but boys at the same age on the other hand are off playing video games or football and generally living in the moment. This early childhood leisure engagements instills the spirit of responsibility in a girl child at an early age while instilling the instincts of survival in the boys. This responsibility lead girls to form cliques in order to voice and share their insecurities and hence getting more mature a lot earlier than their male counterparts. Boys catching up later is just another phase for their development when they find out that plans are important if they are ever going to amount to anything at all in life. Then the survival instincts accumulated over their playful years kick in but this time in a more rational and well thought-out pattern instead of usual impulsive response. Well, it all boils down to how the human society has set standards required to be fulfilled by both sexes. #epistle . U dn say am 5nish |
Politics › Re: FG To Spend N457bn On Power Transmission Infrastructure by Greatihex(m): 9:59am On Oct 25, 2013 |
CFCfan: The Federal Government will spend $2.86bn (N457.6bn) between now and 2017 in order to give the nation a power transmission infrastructure that can carry 16,000 megawatts of electricity.
The Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, said this in Abuja on Tuesday at a news conference on the performance of the economy, especially following the successful sale of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria’s successor companies.
Maku said a transmission expansion blue print prepared by the Presidential Action Committee on Power had committed the government to a transmission capacity of 16,000MW.
He said the government was committed to funding the programme, which will cost $2.86bn, listing the sources of funding as the African Development Bank, $150m; World Bank, $290m; and Eurobond of $150m.
Other funding sources are a $500m loan from the China Export Import Bank; proceeds from the sale of the National Integrated Power Plants, $1.6bn; and budgetary appropriation, $170m.
Announcing that the end of darkness was near in Nigeria, Maku said different steps taken by the government would soon begin to yield results, but pleaded with the citizens to exercise some patience as time was still needed to usher in a new era.
He said, “The distribution companies are going to ensure that there are meters and the meters will be prepaid so that nobody will come and charge you for darkness, which was the case in the past. You buy your credit and when it finishes, your light goes off. You don’t need anybody to come and disconnect you.
“You can be sure now that you will pay for every light you use. People will ensure that they put off light that they don’t need. The importance of this is that the power you don’t use will go to the industry. When you waste electricity, it is a national waste, not just to the person that is paying for it. If you save it, it goes into production.
“Government will subsidise power for the poor people. The rural dwellers and poor urban dwellers; there is a subsidy for you. In the course of the new tariff, which will come in the beginning of the market, the tariff will not take electricity beyond the capacity of the poor people. It is the bridge to ensure that everybody has access to electricity.” http://www.punchng.com/business/business-economy/fg-to-spend-n457bn-on-power-transmission-infrastructure/ . First page tins. DerideGull: Against the backdrop of this nonsensical and ignorant postulation from northerners and Muslims in particular, I have strongly suggested that nothing more could serve as symbol of unity in Nigeria than have NDA in eastern and western regions of Nigeria. These idiotic rapscallions only think about unity of Nigeria when everything is situated in northern region of Nigeria or goes in their favor. I guess there is no point blaming these dirty jackasses from northern region but cowards from southern Nigeria who were made to think Igbo man was their problem.
Where is symbol of unity of Nigeria when NDA, Staff College, S&T Depot, Command and Strategic School and Air force Training schools are all located in northern region? I hate the cesspit called Nigeria. . Guy, u too much. U dn present am 5nish. |

You want to know if bullying destroys Africans just as it does Americans, go on twitter and search the name @samanthaXsiren and find out how she broke down miserably early this year then tell me if shes Nigerian or American.
Oh, and all the crux of the mental breakdown was from bullying she received years ago at the hands of fellow classmates in Atlantic Hall High School in Lagos.

victorv12: I'm laughing my 9ja laugh over this cyber-bullying news, It's funny. But African kids are worst off. We're being bullied at home and in school, which eventually on the long run causes psychological problems . The effect of our own bullying is even more dangerous than the ones in the west. They have psychiatric institutions to attend to their own case but in our own, that doesn't happen. Our own effect of bullying reflects when we are get older. We may not commit suicide, but we know how to oppress ourselves with bitterness.
That's why we have a leader that can buy Two amoured BMW cars at once to protect herself. Our own bullying generates into greed, bitterness, heartlessness, oppression and so many ish I can't find words for. Our bullying piles up, that's why our leaders left us conveniently to live in darkness. Most of our leaders are still psychologically traumatized till date because of the teenage or juvenile delinquency they went through in the past. What make stowaway kid wanted to flee the country?! The boy must be put under psychological check 24-7 till the age of 25... As long that boy is still in Nigeria, he will always want to flee! Our own bullying is more pathetic than the ones in the west, that's why we have bullies has leaders that torment us day and night. And the bitterness most Nigerians are carrying presently is worst than the ones in the west...it must trickle-down...It's a cycle! . Lyk say oyinbo ppl no get thieves, murderers, rapists nd so on. Na dia mentality dy affect dm. Dm no dy go church too, dm no get endurance. |

infonubia: ouch! isn't that a little too harsh. People deal with situations differently. We tend to deal with them the best way we know how and there isn't really a right or wrong way. I trust the Kenyan Army to rout out the terrorists, the Kenyan army are one of the most well-trained and well-equipped in Africa. The pictures clearly show their finger on the trigger guard which is a display of a high level of trigger discipline, minute details like this is what separates a well-trained army from a rag-tag Al Shabab militia.
The battle against terrorism might be a long tortuous one, but eventually the good will always prevail against the bad as long as it takes. . Kenya dy send sum of their men 2 b trained in nigerian army. Sum oda african countries do dat 2. Knw dat now. |
