My people.

I want to thank you all for this forum. I have learnt a lot from reading comments and experiences here on nairaland.com, expatforum and some whatsapp groups (mainly Indian groups).

The process was tough but ultimately sweet grin

At first, I had problems getting my transcripts. Wasted about 4 months on this.

Then I had to battle PTE. I did that 4 or was it 5 times now...anyways I never made the 20pts score.

Then I evaluated with ACS. That took about 3 months only to have my experience cut down by 4 years. With all these I was left with 55 pts to apply as a Network Engineer.

Well a friend later advised that I go with Engineering Australia(EA), for this I had to sit for IELTS, as PTE was not accepted by EA then. EA took another 3-4 months and eventually gave me the desdired Professional Engineer qualification. With this, I applied for the PR in May. There was no response after my aplications for 2 months until I got an Immi Assessment Commence notification Email in July, which essentially means that my application was now being assessed. No additional documents was ever requested by DIBP all through this process.

So this morning I was going through my mail when 3 freshly minted golden mails just started dropping in my inbox one by one. Alas I have been granted my long awaited PR along with my family. I was over the moon when the reality dawned on me.

I must say its been a wonderful experience rolling with this thread. There are amazing people here from Chief Bellong to Jamson, to Bnimz, Mctowel, Mamajaz, Alphadoor, etc etc etc.... Thank you all. Next stop is Melbourne wink who knows maybe Sydney! cheesy

To the ones still in the process. One thing I know for sure is that You will get it. Just research well and follow the process. I wish you the best.

Yes ooo.
@greenopyte also.. have you received your Grant. The username has gone AWOL.. not found

My brother Alphadoor. I'm very much around. Well, I've not heard from DIBP after the Immi Assessment commence E-Mail in July. So I'm hoping the good news is not too far away. At the moment I'm focused on improving my skill levels in preparation for the Aussie market.

Massive congrats Lalaazo!

I wish you a worthwhile sojourn in the land down under, as you prepare to relocate.

I'm tapping into your testimony too. I lodged on May 10. Hopefully my grant is cooking as well.

Some quick questions: Are you a single applicant or with a family? Did you claim work experience points?

lalaazo:

No be small thing oh@ Doyen06; I kept on checking immiaccount on a daily basis until 3 days ago I gave up. 104 days of fingers crossed expectations, woke up and saw the dibp mail.
@Zoew congrats,
@ e-family I can't seem to thank you all enough, every info here counts.

It means your file has just been assigned to a CO......he/she will contact you (only God knows when) if u need to supply further document or approve your file for a direct Grant.

Your application status should have changed to ASSESSMENT IN PROGRESS now from RECIEVED.

But this your case get as e be o........Just being assigned CO since May 10. Mine was assign within 3weeks back in March.

This goes a long way to show that GSM processing time has long been prolonged before updating it on their site yesterday. Only God knows what the real current processing time is.

Thanks for your comments Ozymigrant. It is well. I'll be waiting for the grant anytime they are ready.

Meanwhile what's happening to our expectant ITAs. Anybody got yet? its 3.25pm! Please share the good news.

Guys,

I just received an IMMI Assessment Commencement E-Mail about two hours ago (I applied 10 May) just when I was about sending DIBP a reminder as advised by Ozymigrant. Well, no document is requested in the mail. I guess I have to wait now.

Guys I just did some google search on this immi assessment commencement email and I got confusing interpretations. Anyone with a better understanding on what this email is about. Does it means I have to wait longer for further processing?

Even a new stream has now been opened for the New-Zealanders within the 189 quota..............I doubt if this would not affect the occupational ceilings when eventually released. We should all just hope for the best as Alphdoor said sha.

@greeneophyte, have u sent them a reminder? Some times they work on cases after reminder....this is from personal experience.

I am thinking I should wait a bit further, before sending a reminder. On the other hand, I'm hoping for a direct grant as I front loaded everything.

No
Alphadoor:

That spirit is all we have to keep going on

I've been noticing the delay trend from all over the forums.
I even read somewhere that the Skill select system is confused with the new Lists also https://imminews.com.au/2017/07/18/skillselect-glitches/

Also that DIBP may also go through some change http://www.themandarin.com.au/81517-unpacking-classic-turnbullian-announcement-home-affairs-cyber-security-and-intelligence/

I could not agree with DIBP being confused* at the moment . No ceiling after 24 days into July, no result from 1st round... 2nd round is less than 24hrs away.
*(Although this is probably own view, DIBP definitely knows what she is cooking)

I want to believe all this tighter rules and information hoarding is based on global border security against terrorism and the likes.

Indeed no one seems to know what is causing the delay for sure. It's all speculations. I lodged on May 10 and there hasn't been a single CO contact not Immi Commencement Email since lodgement. It seems a lot is happening at the same time with DIBP. New software platfrom, RE-organisation and massive Downsizing in the visa processing unit, the new Home affairs department, etc. I guess we haven't got a choice other than to wait and pray for some pleasant surprises.

@Dewys Have you heard of www.etx-ng.com. You can apply through them and get an electronic copy which you will then print, notarize, scan and upload to ACS. But etx can sometimes waste time. So you have to follow up closely.

Ok guys, I got a positive outcome from EA today and I've just lodged my EOI for Telecoms on 60 points. Hopefully that will be good enough for the draw next week. I wish to thank all the ogas in the house for guidance. Some of us are usually quietly reading the discussion. You guys rock. Please my ogas in the house, i need help with the list of required docs for the visa. My former employer didn't remit tax for some years and I'm concerned about that.

Good day people,

I have gone through some of the pages in this thread and the previous one. Please I would appreciate some experienced counsels.

My wife is currently in Dallas to give birth. She is 36 weeks. We couldn't secure PTA before she travelled. Now, we will love to use the form A to pay for her bills, but all the hospitals we've spoken to do not accept wire transfer (form A) for payment. Please I would really appreciate any advise on a Dallas hospital that will do form A. This is especially urgent as she is really advanced at 36 wks

Meanwhile, someone gave us an OB package for JPS hospital in Dallas which requires us to processs temporary Tarrant county ID for her. Has anyone used this before? Does this translate to using the US govt funding? I really want to be sure so we dont get to speak long grammer in the future.

Thanks for the good work here. It really is commendable.

I'm an expert level network engineer. I just downloaded the AIT CSV file and I was extremely embarrassed. Any number above 255 is IMPOSSIBLE in IP addresses (IPv4). Yet you have the purported manipulations on people voting for Buhari showing addresses ranging from 256 all the way to 570. It's incredible that someone would tell such a shameless lie. If there is any law that punishes lying to the public, AIT should be prosecuted. It's a very straight forward case.
