From a tactical standpoint, I think Maresca expects his wingers to exploit the spaces NJ creates, this is the first demand. Last season, the bald one was always emphasizing how we’re a “different team” when Jackson plays. However, those demands are hardly met by our attacking options.

Looking at Gittens and his style of play, he simply loves to run into spaces then shoots at the slightest chance. He will thrive playing alongside NJ, I have no doubt about that and I believe Maresca has identified that as well.

You have to look at Netos goal against LAFC to understand the impact of Jackson when leading the line. Not a great scorer but an overall team player. We simply need scoring wingers who can utilize the spaces he creates and we’re good.

It’s looking like Gittens will join us.

From what I’ve heard over the past few weeks, we have been unsuccessful with offers of £30m and £42m for the lad. Albeit Dortmund are prepared to sell him, they only want around £47m.

According to Fabrizio, a third bid is being prepared, and this ultimately should be the last.

To sell Nicolas Jackson de fear me. That guy is talented, I don't know why he hasn't fixed his shooting and scoring.

His shooting is his biggest weakness, bar that, he’s a very decent forward esp off the ball.

You rarely find strikers who occupy the defenders. An effective occupying of the defenders drags them out of position which ultimately creates passing lanes and spaces for the likes of Palmer, Madueke and Neto to exploit and score.

Jackson does this effectively, the only reason you’re not seeing us scoring so high is because those ninjas NJ creates spaces for are either profligate or play with hindsights. This is the singular reason why myself and the likes of nateevs and Ibime believe NJ isn’t entirely the problem upfront rather his supporting cast.

Weeks ago we saw Dembele playing as a false 9 for PSG. He only had one job to do - drag the defenders out of position, while Doue and Kvara carries out the damage. If na some Einsteins for here, they’ll be clamoring for Ronaldo de Lima to lead the line, forgetting that football has gone past the stage when traditional no9 is everything.

Jackson in either of Barca, City, Madrid, PSG, Arsenal etc is great asset. If you know you know.

The boy will cook in a team with a good attacking band.
