Of course that flair and ball playing abilities are obviously big bonuses when you’re up against any side.

Every manager prays for a proper ball playing dm. Your build up starts from them, they’re like the center of your style of play - tempo, attaching style, mentality etc.

While Maka is busy wrecking balls, Rijkaard is busy recycling possession and joining forces with KDB and Modric to disseminate your team.

Great defensive midfielder for what it is primarily all about, but there was nothing stylish and unique about Makelele.

I feel Rijkaard flair gives him an edge over Makelele. He in many ways wasn’t limited, that’s in contrast to Maka who was final third shy.

The only player who can defend well on that block is Rijkaard and I love defensive stability. In a 4:2:3:1, I'll start him as my DM in a double pivot with Yaya Toure. In the #10 role I'll play Zidane but I feel Iniesta offers more control. Yaya stopped playing as a DM when he left Barca in 2009/2010. Paired with Barry, Dejong, Fernandinho and sometimes played as a 10 since he moved to city.

Good analysis but then, Zidane and Iniesta are no where near KDB in terms of productivity.

Conte is a top coach and not overrated at all. I mean he won the the EPL and multiple titles in serie A but you're making Napoli look like complete under dogs here. They aren't.

They won the league a season before last under Spalletti. When Spalletti left, they replaced him with an absolute bum in Rudi Garcia. That's why they fell off. Coaching is very important.

Conte has spent 150m plus on transfers this season. Kvara was there till January. Lukaku replaced Osimhen and Neres who was Benfica's best player replaced Kvara.

Signing MCtom for 30m was his choice, same with Gilmore. The Politano you're talking about was/still a starter when the won the league two seasons ago and now.

Napoli is a good side not underdogs. Conte is a good coach.

Losing Kvara and Osimhen only to replace them with Neres and Lukaku is enough reason not to win the league.

Can never count as upgrades in my books.
